I'm a Beastlord, and I would love this cloak. My class can take advantage of every stat and effect on this item save the Int. Beasties get only cold DDs so the damage improver is a perfect fit. The dodge modifier is a very welcome deffensive boost. Being a leather class, the AC looks pretty darn good to me, and the other stats are to par with the standard elemental armour. My guild does him occasionally, and i've already picked up my sleeves from this nasty chicken, so I'm holding out for this back item. This is a very fine piece. I've heard its one of the best cloaks in the EPs. Please keep in mind hps and mana are king at this level. I look foward to having one some day. =)

I could'nt agree more.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 20 2003 at 7:48 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Casters and preists have quite a lot of cloaks to chose from in PoP. There arent many decent melee or hybrid cloaks.

Woot got this last night! seems only a few months since I've posted that I did'nt think I'd ever see the elemental planes......whelp I'm there and having a blast! To Taygarr, I was in PoF / PoA / PoW at 62 and doing a valid job, granted I may have been getting a higher % of resists but I was learning along the way, with this cloak I now break 5k hp raid buffed ~ gimmi more hp Items /drool

I just got this today on my druid and I am very happy. We never pull this bird, but we just got a new bard in the guild, and she said pulling this bird is cake. She singled it like it was nothing, and it dropped my new back item, yay
can you say ouch!?

# Jan 12 2003 at 6:48 AM Rating: Default
ehh i speaking as a 65 wizard i dont think id ever put in in that ( besides the fact that i have a cloak of the frozen flame) i almost never use ancient destruction of ice , now if it was a fire or magic 30% id say yeah take it if you dont have an ft4 cloak
cold based spells
# Jan 10 2003 at 8:01 PM Rating: Decent
A druids best spell winter's frost is 1550 , with cloak would be a frosty 2015. Fury on that would make a nice 4030. Definatly would see a few double takes on that crit.

wrong. crits are not affected by focus dmg.

crit would be.... 1550x2 + focus dmg (variable).

sooo....3100 + 465 = 3565 max crit

Ignore the idiots, Yendys calculations are correct.

You can also stack on top of that bard song(Rizlona's CoF) for a further 15%.

Making a max druid non-crit of: 2247.
and a max crit of: 3797.

I've had a few crits in the 3600's using a mage focus item + bard song.

#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 10 2003 at 8:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i love the fact that at lvl65 you are still going to upgrade 14 items that shows true dedication. i can oly hope that im that was in 23 more dings.

Anyone know if this effect stacks with improved damage? Just curious to know. And Yeah, its a wizzy item.

Mezloh,

What makes this a "wizard item?" The best wizard cold-based DD does 1200 dmg, does it not? The best shaman cold-based DD does 925 dmg. The best druid cold-based DD does 1550 dmg. Seems like some other classes may argue about this being a "wizard item" especially when wizards do far, far more damage with magic and fire-based DDs.

With LDoN, wizards now get a 2100 Cold DD (Ice Meteor)

their previous highest was Ancient Destruction of Ice at 1200 + Iceflame of E'ci (self buff, focus cold DDs ID 30%, lvl 60 spells only)

Although only one focus item of a type will work at a time, riz will stack, extra 15% damage(on all resist types, not just cold)

This is an improved damage focus effect. Improved damage doesn't stack with itself. Therefore, no, this will not stack with improved damage I, II, III, or IV.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 10 2003 at 6:56 AM, Rating: Unrated, (Expand Post) this item is really best for wizzy's.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 10 2003 at 6:34 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Too bad it only works on cold based spells. I could seriously see this going to wizards before any other class. I'm not meaning to say that because I am biased.... however shaman and druids are next in line for this.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 10 2003 at 1:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is a great item for casters and who ever says against sucks and are jellious.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 10 2003 at 3:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) geez if your gonna try to make a joke learn to spell, think about enrolling yourself in a grammar class it might b a wise investment. oh yeah, i bet u and that scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz must b good friends, cuz your both lacking a brain.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 10 2003 at 2:03 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I agree, i would put this baby on my warrior. Those melees are useless.
woot, got here first

Alright, before anyone starts going off on what class/race or anything this best for, i just want to say, This is good every class, AC is a little low for such a high end item, but the stat mods are sweet.
RE: woot, got here first
# Jan 09 2003 at 10:54 PM Rating: Default
the rediculousley low ac on this almost guarantees a caster of some sort will get this...then you factor in the focus (not that everyone cares) and you have a decent druid/wiz/shaman cloak.
