I'll just stick to my Crown of Narandi, augmented it with more dex, so, 1 better AC, all around better stats and resist... Ornate can kiss off, as far as the helm goes.

Even though I totally agree with your choice, there are a couple of things to point out about it:
The ornate chain patterns are a lot more available than the crown.
Ornate chain drops from at least 4 high level mobs, and the people that hunt them tend to sell them in the bazaar.
The crown is the result of the 10 rings of the dorfs in Thurg. Needs a lot of pre-adventuring and a big force to finally get it, etc, etc. And I dont see many crowns for sale, ever.
Planestrider price circa 35k
Crown price circa 100k
Thats a huge difference to make a comparison. You got the money then, aye. If you only got 35k then there is no choice, your stuck with the Planestrider.
Guess I will be saving up the other 65k or finally doing the other 4 rings. :-)

Looks like I will just get a stamina augment stone from LDoN and put it in my Helm of the tracker.

White Dragonscale Helm is 150k on my server, Plainstrider pattern is 20k. Its a no brainer.

My helm of tracker only gives me 31 HPs total this has 50 raw HPs plus the 4 stamina and best yet NO GRAPHIC.
now for the guy that said the wizard ornate hat is better here are the stats

I'll still take my Helm of the Tracker, but at least the Karana rangers can wear this pos.
This helm got very decent AC, some DEX & WIS we never have enough of, hps & STA (more hp), mana, plus some resists (poison & disease). AFAIC, dropping a 64 BoT mob (1 group doable) is not much harder than camping the Seer in WL and the 3 protectors in Kael arena, ymmv. I'll be glad to upgrade my Helm of the Tracker with this one
Once again rangers get screwed. The wizard PoT hat is better than this.
Don't feel as much screwed on the helmet as I do on the BP: just compare RNG's and BST's ones:
we RNGs get a crappy clicky buff we hardly use anymore after lvl 62 while bst got a clicky HASTE !
Did SOE feel BST didn't already have enough advantages that they needed to give them one ?

I think you are forgetting that BL can cast haste already(since they are shaman hybrids). So it's not as if their tunic gives them an unfair advantage, it just saves them a little mana. This is true of all of the ornate, they are all clicky with a lvl 60+ spell, to save you the mana/spell slot.
Are you comparing it to the Elemental Wizard hat or the Ornate version?
Please 'splain how the wiz hat is so much better...
