...first of all, Wrath is 145 mana. So, these gloves make the spell do 545 dmg for 145 mana. That is a dmg/mana ratio of 3.759. The last normal cleric nuke, Condemnation, does 1100 dmg for 365 mana. That's a dmg/mana ratio of 3.014. So, this makes the Wrath spell far superior to any other cleric nuke, aside from their last undead nuke, in terms of mana efficiency. If clerics have these gloves, then they'll be able to use Wrath to do considerable dmg, and still have plenty of mana to do all the necessary healing. Of course this probably won't be used in a raid situation, but...
You're right, Wrath is 145, an error on my part. =D However, I never said anything about mana efficiency. Of course it's mana efficient, but it still suffers from an overall lack of dps compaired to higher level cleric nukes. Hitting once for 1100 at 365 mana is superior than twice for 525 at 145 mana a pop with a recast time of 6 seconds in between. What I DID say was that the increase to mana cost wasn't too major, and it isn't. At 65 throwing out 365 mana here and there is nothing, especially with half decent mana regen. Mana efficiency makes wrath superior in the long run, but since the object of fighting in groups is to take down mobs as quickly as possible so you can move to the next, hitting once for the larger amount of damage is the better choice.
*edit* None of these comments really apply anymore since the effect has been changes...
On a different note, going from 1100 dmg for 365 mn to 1,430 for 274 with this item and a fury of druzzil... Wow, focus effects really make an incredibly huge impact on the game. Hope all these Plane ot Time melee focus effects come close to how much casters get.
Effect allows the 29 cleric spell Wrath to do up to 545 damage for 140 mana. When compaired to the 44 upgrade Retribution, you save 95 mana and gain 29 damage. The downpoint? Clerics don't nuke much unless soloing or in groups, and in either case by the time you get these gloves, you're going to have higher damage nukes available to you, without a great increase to mana cost.

it would not be great on a wizard because wizards dont get to scribe the only spell that this effect works on. Better to give them FT or something that will translate into more mana.
