Fun weapon

I got mine today off a Monstrous Sea Turtle. I got really lucky.....saw the Fabled Baracuda, killed it, no sword. 10 minutes later, the turtle spawned, I killed it, and it dropped the sword. So overall about a 15-20 minute camp for this. Of course when I got the ranger version, it took months. Love this thing.
Yes!

I got this tonight on Emarr. My bard, Tbait and my druid, Ottur had been working Reef of Coirnav for a week or so now. They are both level 72 and with mercs, I have been able to take down all the mini's so far.

Finally got this from the Ferocious Barracuda tonight. I have killed him quite a few times now and always get the Coral Shard and a few Glyphed Runes as well. I was almost amazed when I saw the blade this last time. Since there is so little info on this item other than, RARE RARE RARE, I had no idea if I would actually ever see it.

Anyway, its pretty cool. Got the SK pet sword in here as well. Now, if I can get the Druid Mace I will be a happy camper, lol.

Good luck in yer ventures..

Ottur Rokks 72 Druid
of Stygian Rush on Emarr

Oh, the pet proc produces an animated sword that looks like the bard epic but without the particle effect. Seems to proc quite often and I have had multiple pets up at one time.

Ciao

very, very rare

Have no delusions, the mobs that can drop this thing are very, very rare spawns. Twenty hours of clearing both monsterous turtle room and ferocious barracuda room and I've seen zero named turtles and two named barracudas (which dropped the PoS enchanter item no one wants anyways). In addition, Razorfin has popped up once and Triloun Warder has shown three times. I expect to spend no less than 60 hours camping this stupid toy. XP sucks here, bobbing around in water trying to fight sucks, and clients constantly crashing (yay sony, thanks for that fun feature with today's patch) only make this camp more enraging. Hopefully everyone else can have far more luck than me on this thing.
Hmm

With the new Weapons Affinity AAs from GoD . . can you have more than one pet up at once? . . as in proc . . then Proc again before old pets poof.

These pets have always been able to stack, you can have as many as are proced.

If you want to have a click-pet just do the Gnoll slayer quest in Qhills/Blackburrow/Splitpaw. It is clickable by any race and several diff classes including bards. Plus, its 25/40 wpn against gnolls so not totally lame so to speak.

Saw a link to this in the serverwide bard channel, stats were 17/21 10str 20dex 8sta 100hp 75mana 20svf 10svm, same proc... looks like they updated it a bit, remembered that bards have mana? :)

The lucky bard who got it said it dropped off of a Ferocious Barracuda, so I'm guessing it can drop off any of the mini-named in RoC? Might be the same for all of the Class SwarmPet weapons, but I can't say for sure, anybody able to confirm this?
Haha a good bard
# Jan 27 2003 at 9:43 AM Rating: Default
haha a good bard can twist while controlling a pet and switching instruments while reading a book making lunch and saving the rain forest.
RE: Haha a good bard

You cannot control this pet, it is similar to the enchanter casted pet, which cannot be called back etc. It only lasts for 10 seconds per proc and isn't reliable as anything but a DoT.
RE: Haha a good bard
# Dec 12 2003 at 7:33 AM Rating: Decent
it's more like a targeted pet like Xuzl or cleric hammers (or a swarm pet) (course it only lasts 10 seconds rather than til the mob is dead) than a chanter pet (chanter pets last longer and won't attack until the chanter gets hit)
The sword
# Jan 01 2003 at 1:56 PM Rating: Excellent
Yeah, that's pretty much what the reaction was - lots of surprise. :) (OMG - it proc'd a bard epic sword. Shut up. Seriously!) At the time it was the first one server-wide, and bards from across the servers made mules on Saryrn to come check it out. We had a fun Gathering of the Bards! (Hold your jokes please)

As for the pets, they are not controllable and do not show up on the pet bar. You can have a charmed pet while these things are popping. There will be as many up as you can proc in 10 seconds - I've seen four up at one time. The pets will attack whatever you are currently attacking and will defend against new attackers. Basically, they seem to work the same way as other swarm pets.

The pet hits for 51 max, so it's really a 200-400 damage proc on average.

Anyway, it may not be the best weapon in the expansion, but it is probably the most fun.

I just got mine today, max hit I have logged from pet is a 94 slash, a 16 kick, and a 9 bash - so max hit is not 51.
RE: The sword
# Jun 01 2003 at 9:28 AM Rating: Default
dunno about the bard pets, but the ranger pets I have seen hit for 83+ and bash, so maybe its a bard thing ;p
Just imagine...
# Jan 01 2003 at 8:56 AM Rating: Default
Hehe...I could just imagine the reaction of everyone around when this thing procced for the first time. I am sure there was a unified "WTF?! lolol" heard throughout the zone.

If this weapon procs again during the 10 second duration of the pet, do you get an additional pet, or does it say "You may only have one pet at a time"? The phrase "SwarmPetBard" leads me to believe that you can have several of these active at once, similar to the new AA abilities for the pet classes.

Also, any information on the pet would be useful, so if anyone has this sword, fire up those dex songs and proc proc proc! Maybe even post samples from the text file, so we can see just how this bard pet performs!

P.S.: Yes, that pun at the end was intentional Smiley: jester
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 01 2003 at 1:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) 10 secs and what after it, it depops? and how outomotivating is the pet, considering that bards already suffer so much twisting etc. etc. commanding the pet would make the effect close to ueseless. If it would be like a personal animation, considering you are being attacked when using the sword anyway. \If it just tqunts the mob it would already be cool cause it could save a few blows. Furthermore what happens to charmed mobs when the sword procs, will it create an additional pet, will the proc be ignored, or will the charm break. With all these options it could be anything from next to useless to awesome. Oh well my bard is only 32 and i'm sure by the time this weap is available for her, there will be more information supplied. But for now i would say this weap has potential, just hope we're not gonna get dissapointed with it afterall.

We suffer twisting? Have you played a bard? Good bard has no problem controlling a pet and twisting at the same time...
