Bazaar Price

I came to take a look at this simply because on Tarrew Marr this pattern is going for 2 to 4k atm. That's a good enough price for the money I think. I sure wouldn't have spent 10's of k on it like it was originally being asked. As far as the Ornate armor goes, sure it's not as good. *shrugs* Course, to some of you super twinks out there, nothing ever will be good enough. So STOP *********
yes, I'm vain ...

Does anyone know if this cap has a graphic?

To me that would be the deciding factor of choosing this over an ice silk cap. Face it, we chanters are a vain lot. I don't want to pay the money for something I'm going to keep in the bank because I end up looking like I'm about to be shot out of a cannon. Helmet hair is the worst ... ugh ...

If someone has one and can answer this, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks :)

This may just be me, but I've never understood people who'll run around with only decent gear on instead of good gear simply for the looks of their cartoon character. I've known more than one player, including one tonight, who said they went for looks over stats. Well, not only are you vain and shallow, but good luck to you. Unless yer a female char that's mostly naked, I'll beat ya in the game cuz I don't give a frell what I look like. My reputation is based upon my ability, not my boobs or pretty hair or cool looking chain-mail pattern on a caster.

You'll beat somebody in a game where there's no winning or losing? Mmmmkay..... Different people play this game for different reasons. You want to have more powerful gear simply for the stats of your "cartoon character." Others want gear for the looks of their characters. Neither of you is right or wrong, and neither of you is going to win the game. So get over it and just play to have fun, and let others have fun how they want.

Doesn't have a Graphic.

well I for one am tired of having to pull out my bracer of the hidden every time i invis other people or someone says 'there's a group leapfrogging us' that i can't see... I need something that keeps see invis on all the time. and the occasional blind illusion and i gotta pull out the spell book and keep vision buffs on... That effect is nice enough to forgive the stats, since this pattern is selling in bazaar for about 5k these days

did u do the Levathan Eyes quest .. One spell and you get Ultravision/See Invis/Enduring Breath - Regent Free and one spell :) then you don't need the rest of the spells
RE: effect

I agree on the usefulness of LE. All the benefits just mentioned, plus it lasts much longer than any of the 3 spells it replaces. I did the quest at lvl 50ish, and it was easy. Good luck.
Fairly useless

Not any better than an ice silk cap. The resists are moderate at best. Plainsight seem scompletely useless. Yes if you're human or Erudite, then you need vision help at night. But any enchanter than can use this item, has ultravision. Unless you're indoors, you only need it at night...cast it at 4 or 5 pm, and you're set.

I guess one could see it as a convenience item, but I can't imagine keeping this thing on me forever. At least I can sell the Ice Silk Cap and recoup some money.

ultravision is a helpful spell but it does take up a spell slot that i would gladly put to use for somthing other than seeing better in the dark.

bottom line is all worn effects are better than any spell of EQUAL quality that you can cast.

eg. if you could have pants with the worn effect of Virtue you would never have to worry about it being dispelled thus making the worn effect much more valuable

first the old clicky instant effects used to be nice because of what you said but...... all the new encounters that use dispell have a random effect to them so it doesnt matter what spell you have in the first slot because they all have the same chance of being dispelled.

2nd if you had a worn virtue/VoQ/Fo7/Bo9 effect how could it be dispelled?

RE: Fairly useless
# Jun 23 2004 at 1:26 PM Rating: Good
He said worn effects couldn't be dispelled, making them more valuable, and he didn't say anything about clickies at all. With this on you will never lose see invis, whereas using Leviathin you can.
Good for Eruid Chanters
# Aug 10 2003 at 9:55 AM Rating: Decent
Or any of the other blind chanter races. Right click Plainsight can make or brake a group if your chanter is blind like my wife's Erudite. Ever try to mez something you couldn't see?

Gnomes don't fit in that catagory.
Before anyone says it

yes, this is better than Thurg//kael//SS helm

50 mana equates to 8.2 int.
saves are good.
Sta and Hps
Better AC.

edit -- well, i came back to look at this thing due to the fact that i see the pattern for sale for 15k right now. Sorry guys, this helm is not worth it, very low on the totem pole as far as ornate patterns go--

Not by much. And its certainly not better than mid-end SoL stuff. And as rare as molds seem to be, I think this is a bit of an oversight on VI's part.
