Your cracked complaning about No ac or dex. Look at this thing its worth the time for the ressists and mana/hp. time ya get this those are what your looking for
#REDACTED, Posted: May 14 2003 at 6:05 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You are all idiots complaining about an item you will most likely never have the chance of seeing in-game. The talisman is one part in a series of pseudo-keys for the highest known tiers of the planes. That and it might be the only way out of the PoT, but you will never know, cuz only Afterlife in their sleepless EQ madness has made the effort to achieve that. So shut up, your yammerin' takes away from their accomplishment.

Actualy several have now entered Plane of Time since Afterlife did. And severeal more are on the brink now that Sony has fixed the obviously broken Rathe encounter. So Dont sit try berate others and their sleepless EQ madness or try sound like you know what your talking about, which is hopeless. All it takes is effort to get there and to get this talisman. If you dont put it in...shut up and stop trying to belittle those that have.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 13 2003 at 2:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) no, its really not. If it were 135 Hp, +25 resists.. then maybe if you just happened to ahve the stuff.. but to be honest.. no its really only wroth it for the gate if you dotnhave gate and dont mind spending a ridiculous amount for the regeant.

you are an idiot for those of us whom cannot cast gate this is a life saver & if you dont know what im talking about try running a non full blood caster in eq & pick a fight with a mob that is a close battle & let some fool come running past you with a train on his back & he doesnt have the common courtesy to let you know he was coming. then tell me what you would have given for the ability to cast a gate spell as try to get your body back from deep inside a zone with no inviso to get it...

by the last quote i see you read your Bible, too bad you didnt read the information on this page.

This item will not save a life, cast time is 20!! no quick escape here...u r better off running to the zone (if there is one). Also, gate can be interupted....and if u r getting hit hard enough that you have to gate, then u will probably be interupted.

hey, but it aint to late to become wise T....

It appears to be out of reach to 99 pct of players, unless of course your guild is Afterlife

Very tough to get I'm afraid, considering you have to be flagged for the elemental planes, and most players are not likely to ever get there--possibly including myself.

The gate requires a component, unless I'm mistaken. Some alchemy-made stackable item, 110pp or so each.

Word,

According to Afterlife's website it does indeed require a component. I can't confirm as I'm sure I wont be seeing this item in my lifetime.

Are you sure that the final version requires a reagent? I'd hope that after all the work that you put into attaining this item that you at least dont have to carry around some goo to make it work.

Can anyone that has this comment on it please?
RE: Quite nice.

if you look up "Talisman Gate" on lucy ( http://lucy.fnord.net/spell.html?id=3046 )

it states that it *DOES* require a reagent - the Quintessence of Knowledge.

Apparently, all 3 talismans require this reagent, so you're probably well versed in carrying these around by this time.

from EQTraders, the recipe for the Quintessence is:

1 erudition vine
1 tanaan ginko

place those 2 items in a Medicine Bag and combine - trivial<35.

both items can be purchased from the alchemy vendors in PoK.

The neckpiece is still a nice thing to have for one of those (oh shoot, my raid left me in the Plane of Hate, and everyone's gone) gotchas. Would be better if the Quintessence was either cheaper, or easily farmable (or better yet, foraged!)
RE: Quite nice.
# Apr 07 2003 at 1:11 PM Rating: Decent
Foraged? Hahah. I like the combining, but then again I'm just an alchemist. :) Seriously though, it does seem silly that the end of the line quest item still needs the reagent to get home to Knowledge.
RE: Quite nice.
# Mar 26 2003 at 10:44 PM Rating: Decent
I've used my first talisman with no such regeant.
RE: Quite nice.
# Mar 30 2003 at 2:20 PM Rating: Decent
Err, this is because you probably used it as a bard. Due to basically a design flaw because instruments are "reagents" (see Lucy), items that cast anything requiring a reagent do not require it when used by a bard.

Ok so Im a meele.
But I think this is an awesome all around item.

Bind yerself in lets say Skyshrine (one of the city zones without a POP portal within earshot...and also a city nearby some higher end zones) and use this item to go around PoP portals as needed.

Never mind the awesome Hp/Resists on this.

# Feb 19 2003 at 2:08 PM Rating: Default
Works fine until you die and can't get a port or a rez, then you are stuck in SS until you can find one. That would really suck. Hope the cleric likes you.

# Jan 06 2003 at 9:40 AM Rating: Default
What he is saying is that if u bind in far off zone like Sky (his example) .. . u can use this to go to PoP to move around .. then if u want to go to Sky (his example) u get a wizard to TP u to bind. :) .. a very nice idea except the first two only has 5 charges till u get to the elemental planes and can get this one.
RE: Heh
# Dec 19 2002 at 3:43 PM Rating: Default
The effect on this is not a TL to bind, it is a TL to PoK only. Still nice to have.

He never said it TL'ed to bind. However being able to go to PoP allows you to go to the 18 different zones (there are 20 ports, but the Felwithe/Kelethin goes to the same zone as do the Erudin/Paineel), and a wizard can tl you back to your bind point in a remote area like Skyshrine.

#REDACTED, Posted: May 07 2003 at 1:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Past 50 AC dosen't matter too much hp's are all that seem to matter. I have 1200 ac and get hit for full dmg most of the time in POP.
RE: aye
# Feb 24 2003 at 12:50 AM Rating: Decent
You would think so, but for all the trouble it takes to get this thing it has no AC and still requires a regent. Seems kinda silly to me.
RE: aye
# Mar 21 2003 at 4:41 PM Rating: Decent
by the time you get to this you dont need the AC imo. Im a 65 Ranger with almost 100 AA. I have 1280 ac now, any more would be overkill
RE: aye
# Feb 05 2004 at 10:02 AM Rating: Decent
Heh, I'm a 65 druid with close to that AC (self buffed, though). I hate to say it, but rangers are often required to tank hard-hitting mobs in small places, and it can make a big difference to have 1500+ AC.

Take care of your AC and it will take care of you.
RE: aye
# May 31 2003 at 7:36 PM Rating: Decent
I have to agree that AC isnt as big of a deal unless you are a tank. Mobs hit so hard in elemental planes (where you have to get quest pieces from) that you really shouldnt get aggro.

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 29 2003 at 3:37 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) yeah a ranger says he has enough ac at 1208, meanwhile his ac sucks, id like to see this newbs magelo
