108 lvl BST .. I like to post on quests i do so one peeps know that it is 2020 and the quest still works and for a lvl 108 ..

this quest took me about an hour to do ..

Living frag of fire : took me literally 5min ran to Jopul wall and over waterfall to jopul village and had like 30mobs mass killed and dropped 2 of them ..

Living frag of Air : took the longest had to go thru 2 rounds of mobs for the temple guardians .. so that was the chunk of time ..

Living frag of Water : also very easy killed about 10 mobs in water and dropped 2 of them in that time frame ..

Living frag of Earth : ran to where the Vitriks are and killed like 5 of them for the frag to drop ..

quest done in like hour.

did all 3 quests in less than 3 hours..

I am doing this quest just to get this so I have a means of teleporting to PoK and, well, it's there, lol. I have been stuck with getting the piece from the PoA so I figure since after turning lv 80 I could kill those castellans no problem. Was I ever wrong! I did kill them easily up until I got to the next to last mob before the tunnel when a named popped. I managed to barely kill him and the green mob together until after having killed the named and then the green castellan another named boss-like mob appeared and kicked my a@#. So now what? Wait until next year when we can go to lv 85??? There is no chance I will see this thing. I just was hoping I could make some bank space since it is filled with clickies and no drop keys from just about everywhere. I wish they would give us more bank space. Bottom line though is why not make getting the PoA piece on par with the other ones in PoF and PoE? It makes no sense to me since I really had my hopes up getting to that stupid tunnel in PoA.

About to give up on this quest!

Duo'd this in one day with merc healer as a gimpy 74 rogue... Why its marked rare is beyond me, since its a quest and not at all limited to any season or event.

I and others duo'd this at 70, so you hardly have to wait until lvl 85. The key is patience - lots and lots of patience. There are two mephits that path down to the entrance - you can kill those repeatedly until you get lucky.

I myself ended up having to kill 44 of those things... over the course of a couple weeks.

Air is a mean zone, but I did get my drop after just a few mephit kills. The zone is made easier by the fact 90% of the mobs are humanoids and I can therefore headshot them. Without that, my suggestion would be to get selos/fast horse and run fast into the tunnel and as deep in as possible (before reaching mobs the other end). The pathing is screwy and they're likely to lose you by the time you get there.

This used to be worth the effort... and in many ways, it still is. But with OoW and the new Origin AA... you can gate, reagent free, once every 72 minutes. Granted, it may make life more difficult since it ports you to your home city, and if you're KoS... well.. it ports me to my guildmaster in Kelethin. heh.

I still switch out my necklace for EB item so putting EB on this would be a nice augment. Just a suggestion.

*EDITED* ok, ignore my suggestion on the augment considering that with OoW expansion which is due out in about 2 weeks, you will be able to get an AA that makes it so you will never need another EB item again. (Lets hope they don't change it.)

You should go for Summer's Boon in Nro it is 700 sum points very nice it doubles ur pets regen and adds some HP and other is a must

it's purpose is to raise pet lvl by 1 (i.e. ur 61+ pets innate lvl is 60 -> will now be 61)

It adds a 5% per tick regen to pet (on mage 7.9khp pet).
Raises dmg of pet by approxamately 2.

Also, even if you could equipment the summoner's boon augument in the neck slot, it would be sort of a waste to do so - since you can just swap a cheap item (with slot 3) in when casting your pet.

actually, putting the LDoN summoner's boon into this item (if it was possible), would be great if this was an item you carry around in your inventory.

With the Omens aug, it might be possible to add the pet focus to an item... and since it's a 'swap out' item... anything you already normally carry around is perfect!

Due to basically a design flaw because instruments are "reagents" (see Lucy)

If this is true, then couldn't someone (say a non-Bard) just buy an instrument and carry it around with them when they use this to Gate back to PoK? I've never played a Bard so I don't know how an instrument could be a "regent".

There are songs that require an instrument to be equiped to play. In Lucy's it says something like "requires regent: flute." Invis song doesn't actually consume the flute everytime you pulse invis or a bard would need a stack of them for every few minutes of invis. Evidenly the bug had something to do with special bard coding as opposed to song vs spell coding. So as long as a bard had the required regent on him, it didn't get consumed. It's fixed now. My bard uses a quintessence of knowledge everytime he uses this.

A patch that came out just before GoD's release changed the sell back price of ALL tradeskill made items. This was due to the abuse of Jewl Crafted items made for LESS than what they sold back to vendors for. A 10 dose gate potion now sells back to a vendor for 9pp.

IMO. I say just go to Bazaar and pick up a 10gate potion. use 9 charges and sell the last one back to vendor. seems to come out to about the same per port as the reagents you buy for this item and u dont have to carry extra items, get combines done for you, or complete this irritating quest.

This item cant be augmented although it is a nice neck item for non elemental, but u have to be elemental to get it. so why carry it and the reagent around when u can just grab a 10gate potion easy, with half the cast time in case of emergencies.

With Bidden Concertia you can essentially have two bind points tho, binding near a dungeon and using this to gate to pok for buffs/whatever else one might need (for those of us fortunate enough to bind ourselves or get their hands on a locket of escape that is).

when i first saw this, i was really excited about the gate, but... the reagents make it less worth it. the thurg gate potion may be lore, but the components are not. i keep a stack of small pieces of velium in the bank, as well as several velium vials, so whenever i gate to thurg, i just get a new velium purifier, hit the bank quick and make another potion on my way out. any race can make it, so it too is a viable gate source for non casters - cast time is half of this one - and you can easily farm the components in crystal caverns and pay almost nothing for these. Having said that, a gate to pok is a bit more convenient than thurg, and the thurg gate potion doesn't give you any stats - /shrugg i'll probably still go after this item.

I agree. It's an okay item, but not many people want it for the stats. They want it for the gate... and this is a hard quest. Not just anyone can get it. Elemental flags take awhile to get.

After months of working on this quest, i finally got my last fragment from PoAir tonight. Much to my dismay, when i put the 4 Fragments into the Small Lined Box along with the Powered Clockwork Talisman and hit combine, NOTHING happened. Didn't get a messaget that "These items cannont be combined in this container" or anything. Just plain nothing happened. I still have all my pieces, filed a /petition and a /bugreport.

Anyone else have this problem lately? Or am i just having some bad luck?


This quest has NOTHING to do with PoTime access for anyone who is wondering. It's just a cool quest that results in a neck item with NICE stats and gives Melee a chance to Gate to PoK for a small price ( Quintesence of Knowledge are Shaman made for around 105pp or can be bought in Bazaar for around 150pp on Fennin Ro). Sure beats buying Gate potions though *shrug*

I have the same Problem with the 2nd Talisman. Hit combine an nothing happened. I think the container is buged because the new tradeskill UI.

Did you notice that they chipped in the extra Agility for last one, but no Dex?
Agility is a nice thing, and really for the bigger races, but Dex would also be nice.

All in all, I would love to have something like this though, the resists, sta, hp, and the Unlimited Gates rock for nongaters.

Even if you dont wear it, it's worth the Unlimited Gates. The stats are nice and the Resists are sweet. but if for some reason you prefer not to wear it heck slap it in a bag and use it for the unlimited Gates to PoK. Many times i've been stuck in Bum Fuc* wishin for a way out. If i had this on any of those nights Bling insta port to PoK.

It costs about as much as a gate potion to refill this item per use so dont get all freaky about the gate, though nice, you have the ability to gate right now.

Not true on the cost for gate potions. I have a shaman who practices Alchemy. Gate potions cost around 300 to 800 plat to make, depending on where you want the potion to take you. And that's if the Shammie doesn't fail on the combine, which is almost unheard of. Stand in PoK sometime and listen to peeps auctioning gate potions. They usually sell for 2.5K for a 5 dose shot. Quintessence of Knowledge only costs around 105 Plat to make, has a trivial of 30, and is almost a no fail combine for any shaman lvl 30 or higher. MUCH cheaper to have this item and buy a stack of the QoKs for qaround 1K, than buy a 5 dose Gate potion for 2.5.

OK, I probably shouldn't mention this since SoE will nerf it for sure.. But, Current prices for a 5 dose gate potion are about 1500pp.

I use 4 of the gates and sell the remaining dose back to a vender for about 975pp.

thats comes to about 130pp per gate, and I dont have to be elementals flagged to get do it.

On another note, vial of velium vapors is really cheap and it's pretty quick and painless to get your pottery skill up high enough to make them.

With every turn in for the next gate neck you give the NPC your CURRENT gate neck along with the NO DROP items that you collect from certain zones. Meaning I'm 3 fragments from my last neck when I'm ready to do my turn in I take the 4 fragments from the elemental planes and my Powered Clockwork Talisman and turn them into Elder Clinka, in turn you receive The Binden Concerrentia.

This thing is perfect for making plat or for the sale of lore items, as a caster you can bind where loot is, then use this to gate to pok for a quick sale and gate back to get more lore items to sale.
My friend does this all the time but he's a druid and can port lucky him, now we all can profit in the same way with this.

Gate potions are not cheap, a 10 shot gate potion costs 3000pp in the bazaar, guild shaman makes em for 2800, still it's 280 to 300pp per port. That can wear your bank down in no time, especially if ya like to farm SRT for molds to mule.

The neck is damn nice no doubt, good resists and decent stats. The cost of reagents comes out to cost about 150pp per port. So it basically cuts the cost in half compared to gate potions. Still a little too much to just use 20 times a day, but damn nice.

Actually you can sell a 10 dose gate potion with one charge left to a merchant for 2k so that effectively costs you 800pp for 9 gates. That is a reasonable cost in my opinion.

Not any more, Merchants are (or soon to be) Showing charges so that vendor Recharging is and will not be possible any more.

No both posts were correct. The original was saying that you could make a 10 dose potion use 9 doses then sell the item with a single charge back to a vendor for the same price as a 10 dose potion with all the charges remaining. Thus you could recover a large proportion of your money making each does effectively cost alot less.

The second poster updated the information as recently Sony has changed the way that vendors deal with charged items.

Originally a 10 dose potion with only 1 charge remaining had the same sale price to a vendor as selling a 10 dose potion with all 10 of its charges left, Sony changed this recently such that the cost for multiple charges on items are now simply a multiple of the cost of the item with a single charge. So you can't reduce your costs this way any more.

the costs for selling charged items to mercahnts have not changed what so ever. Only thing that has changed is that you cant sell a fully charged item and then the same item with no charges left and then buy them both back fully recharged.
You can still sell a 10 dose gate potion to a merchant with only 1 charge left and get 2k for it. Only thing the merchant does differently is he will put the 1 charge in a different slot in his inventory then like a fully charged item (or even 2 charges left etc.) would go in, so he would sell one 10 dose potion with 10 charges left and one 10 dose with 1 charge left, but at the same price.

In a shorter explanation, charged items did not change in price concerning NPC merchants, it only effected how the merchant would sell an item with 0 charges left or a fully charged of the same item.

A friend of mine is a rogue who's bound in PoM ( from many moons ago when she had a locket of escape ).

Being a melee its hard for her to get around, let alone get back to PoP zones when she gates to bind. Talisman Gate takes you to PoK, so in essence she has two bind points. Its nicer than some people think.

I am also bound in PoM. There are a number of easy ways out depending on the time of day or who happens to be in PoM. I, personally, use my worker's sledgemallet. With the PoK book in OT, it's very handy. I also keep FoB gate potions on a corpse in case I die. If all else fails, there is always zoning into CS and begging a TL off one of the wizards that is bound to be kiting there. :) Don't get me wrong. I'd absolutly love an infinite charge tailsman gate item and this thing has very nice stats. But, it's not really this or be stuck in PoM. And, most of the time, when you really need it is right after you die and you're naked anyways.

My guild is elemental able and VT and all that jive, but I still like this neck for a number of reasons.

1 it has wicked resists across the board
2 it has Agi, one of my weakest stats
3 i can bind in plane of mischeif and still port to my raids ontime when needed
4 it was a fun quest that let me see the zones and such
5 it didn't cost me raid pts to get a quick fix to my damn ribbon choaker and the thing stil has 75hp/75mana for for free

That's pretty bad considering Elemental plane ppls have access to way better necks.. the gate might be nice for a melee, but gate potions are cheap these days
