Pally Raid stats
# Sep 24 2003 at 10:43 AM Rating: Decent
Always intresting to read these thoughts on HP and AC and for grouping I agree with the above posts. Basically you wear the best gear you can get - it is simple. When it comes to raids and pallies I would suggest max hit points and max mana. I suggest hp for the ae dots you will experience - from like babs in fire and mana for all the sup healing you will do.

I know i spam the MT as fast as i can on every named mob until im oom or I feel the clerics have the rotation under control -so mainly till oom.

On high end raids you as a pally should not have to tank (unless a special pally pull mob we have one in Tactics)your guild probally has 4-5 warriors rdy to go defensive, plus if you are spamming the MT with heals and perhaps a lay hands and that MT dies - kiss your **** good bye when you get hit 5 times for 1500 or more.

my suggestions to the raiding pally:
wear the best equipment you can get
max out lighting reflexes (aa points)
max out crit heals (aa points)
don't get aggro unless your told to
keep everyone buffed with BSS

Excellent peice of equipment... the Breastplate on this set will almost definately surpass 100 AC. Not to mention some killer resistances and HP... but Regaurding the AC/HP thing

People have seemed to forgotten.... attribute stats are what make your character work...

HP is great... so is MP... Everybody likes having big HPs... but HPs are nothing.... The MAs/MTs in raids are not chosen for just their HPs... HPs give the Cleric more time to get a CH off, and I will give you that, but AC points gaurd the HP. If My pally has 3500 HPs on a raid, and the MT has 4000... that is 500 hp difference (about 1 hit from a hard mob if he lands full damage), the difference is The Maintank is using the best peices out of the Skyshrine and Kael, and I am using crappy mix of Deepwater, Mithril, and other assorted parts. My AC is like 1000, and his is like 1500++...

There is a reason Aego gives 1000 hps... and 100 ac... AC is 10 times better then HP... Unless you are struggling to get enough HPs to live, you need to focus more on AC if you really want to be a tank. Funny how people will focus so much on resist gear, while Resist is just AC against Spells...

Trydan's Chestplate of Nobility
LORE ITEM MAGIC ITEM NO DROP
AC: +87 Str: +30 Sta: +30 Dex: +25 Wis: +25 Magic Resist: +40 Fire Resist: +5 Cold Resist: +5 Poison Resist: +5 Disease Resist: +40 HP: +175 Mana: +175
Weight: 15.0
Classes: Paladin
Races: All Races
Inventory Slot: Chest
Effect: Koadic's Heightened Focus
Type: Worn

The Warrior BP is 100 AC, but I doubt any paladin lucky enough to win the Plate mold over (or after) a Cleric,Warrior, or perhaps Bard is going to complain.

Besides this stuff is the PoT uber class armor... I don't know what kind of stuff will begin to surpass this when they bring out Lost Dungeons of Norrath.

Im Editing this message, as in PoP they removed the AC cap restriction. Therefore AC is much more important that it was before PoP was released.

As a pally for the 50 to 60 game you probably should work on getting AC up as high as you can, without compromising your HP and Stamina too much. Balance stamina increases and raw HP to give the best overall increase in HP. No need to go over 205 stamina at this level, as shammy buff of 50 takes you to 255 cap. Then resists, mana pool, agility, strength and dexterity in that order.

Basically as a pally you should try to balance your character. The things you need to raise from gear in the 60+ game are (in order - my opinion)

- AC
- HP total (Stamina + raw HP)*
- Flowing thought (Mana Pres, Improved Heal)
- Mana pool (Wisdom and raw Mana)
- Resists
- Agility
- Attack (such as Vengeance)
- Strength
- Dexterity
- Other stats and effects

* No need to take stamina over 245 at this level as shammy buff yeilds 60 Sta, maxing to 305.

There is a lot to balance out as a pally, and it makes good equipment selection a challenge. Although agility in my mind is more important than strength, there is not that much rounded agility gear available. Agility is more important because your primary role is to take damage, not deal damage.

Depending on the type of encounter a pally needs to fulfil three distinct roles;

AE encounters - Group healing and curing.
Multiple mobs - Mob management (root, stun, tank)
Single mob (no AE) - dps and possibly tanking.

Each of these roles might require slightly different gear. In my Magelo I have a "Upgrade" part where I have put what I think is ideal Pally gear from Vex Thall, Ssra and 3rd Teir PoP.

Kosari - Lord Protector - Drinal

the tank has 1500+ ac because in the high end game tanks generally dont need to worry about their ac because its already at its cap so they work on hp even at the cost of some ac because it helps
crazy ac

Elemental Armor

This quest is not hard at all it is getting the Elemental mold out of Teir four planes(the Elemental planes) They are rare drop. And so far i know of only 3 or 4 guilds in teir four zones in all of everquest. The quest is the same as ornate but instead of ornate mold put the elemental mold in.

Im guessing that you haven't tanked in PoV or BoT. HP is very important, often you will sacrifice some AC to get more HP. For example, White Bear Pelt Cloak https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=4729 is much better than Chetari Bonecrafted Shield https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=5067 in the back slot.
