The more you swing the more it applies? True, in a way I suppose. The more delay a 2h has, the higher damage bonus it's granted. Thus why a Weighted Axe has a damage bonus of 75 at lvl 60

Too true, but remember your fractional math. Small demonimators mean that changing the numerator has more effect. In the end, you weapon ratio is ((dmg+bonus)/delay), so just do the math and see if your 40+delay is better or not. In the case of this weapon, you would need a very mighty 2HS of ANY delay to beat it.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 17 2002 at 2:05 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What can they do to make a better weapon? take a wieghted axe and reverse its stats? maybe add a bit of dex, sta, agi, str and give it a wight of 2.0? maybe a component system to make existing weapons better? not that it's that important, in the course of the next year this item will drop so few times that in all the servers you could count the number of them in existence on both hands, if it even takes that many fingers. Thank you for reading my rant, and as always ya'll are welcome to flame on. hehe
Erm guys.

This sword isn't very good actually.

You all forgot one thing. The way two handed weapons damage is influenced by their delay.
41+ Delay = Damage boost
40-30 delay = No Damage boost.
29 - Delay = Damage Penalty.

Now this is simply orgasmic...
Nice, but not the best
# Dec 16 2002 at 10:07 PM Rating: Decent
Really great atk/dly ratio. But being so fast it will be lacking much of a damage bonus, which will equate into less overall damage against mobs in Luclin, and maybe PoP. I would take it over what I have now obviously, but as a general rule the faster 2hs out there dont necessarily beat out the others.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 16 2002 at 11:47 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) True, but it will definitely hold aggro better than any other weapon in the game, period.

You're probably right about holding the agro, but there is a weapon that's 4dmg 6dly called either the bixbie stinger or pixie stinger or something like that. Wouldn't that speed pull agro? or is it based on total damage over frequency of the hits? Just wondering. =)

# Feb 24 2003 at 11:21 PM Rating: Decent
it did pull agro, and TOO well, so they nerfed it.

Don't tell me u still think dmg bonus is add to the base dmg.

35/23 is the dmg delay then they add dmg bonus to whatever dmg u do to the mob BEFORE the mobs defense is considered.

This means it doesn't make the weapon 49/23. but Say 35 dmg of the weapon was going to do 100dmg to a mob then + 14 dmg of the bonus = 114 dmg but if the mobs defense blocked 110 of it u get 4dmg done to the mob.

Charsion is absolutely right how dmg bonus is calculated. This sword could have a 0 dmg bonus and still be uber the dps is godly. And then the proc makes it /drool. Finaly a paladin sword with godly ratio and stats but best of all a proc thats little to no agro because 1) it does not stun like how many others we can think of and 2) its not a DD. In terms of usefullness I would rate this a Paly/SK, Rng, War weapon.

one nice thing is the 320hp total it gives and the resists. the proc and delay seem quite nice also
RE: sweet weapon
# Dec 17 2002 at 1:56 AM Rating: Default
really at the lvl this is only going to add 170 hp, still huge, but the 25 stamina is only going to replace existing stamina slots and allow for peeps to invest into getting more resist items or secondary stats

Oogieboog Ickysnott 36 warrior of the nameless.

if you doubt my knowledge on these facts, go check your servers local uber guild. stamina in hte end game for plate classes and rangers is one the 3 most commonly maxed stats
fatigue

Obviously this is amazing and I'll never see anything like it, but isn't WT: 5.5 high for a 23 delay weapon? Or at high levels is stamina loss irrelevant with uber-buffs/effects?

Thanks.
RE: fatigue
# Dec 16 2002 at 7:49 PM Rating: Excellent
Once your Stamina is at 100 (or is it 101), stamina loss becomes irrelevant and has nothing to do with being uber or having uber buffs.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 17 2002 at 1:45 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) stamina is still affected, i have had about 205 stamina since about lvl 28, and have been using a centi short sword (about 5 weight) with a lammy in primary. stamina still seemed to drop to zero after about 2 minutes of solid fighting. it wasn't until about 34 that i could afford my duel lammy's where the weight of both is insegnificant. so yes the wieght of the weapon plays huge affect on stamina past 100 (101) points. however many buffs at uper lvls have a stamina dampening effect, especialy shaman buffs.
RE: fatigue
# Dec 17 2002 at 1:26 PM Rating: Excellent
Actually stamina is lost at all levels in any fight, but if you are over 100 sta. your ability to fight is not affected when you become fatigued.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 03 2003 at 8:18 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You must have 100 stamina UNBUFFED and WITHOUT ITEMS, so if you start a new character which has 95 sta, put 5 points in sta.
Wow AGGROliscous!

This is the best weapon in the game I have seen so far PERIOD. 35 23 with Boil Blood? This is going to generate a whole LOT of AGGRO. More from the damage delay of the weapon than the proc for sure, the proc just makes it nastier. I have never used a weapon of this caliber(drool on), would be nice if someone who had would post. I can say that in the world of keeping aggro high damage and low delay wins. For example I have several different two handed combos included the Stonebladed Axe of Dismay at a 44 44 and the Exquisite Velium Battle Axe at 33 36. Beleve it or not the Exquisite Axe is MUCH better at holding aggro than the Axe of Dismay generally. This weapon would hold taunt MUCH better than eithe rof them. Frankly my Exquisite axe holds taunt better than my 11 20 lifetap proc primary and frosty in my secondary does. This thing would own against all but the best two weapon combos currently out there I am sure.
umm

Not quite...it has one of the highest HP stats, but bear in mind for some encounters you want a slower weapon to cut down Riposte damage...and I've seen the proc **** off a few Enchanters, if it goes off at a bad time.
