So I'm trying to find a DC pet so I am casting and egressing if i get a resist since only some of the bronthos are low enough - anyway I get one ( A pet low enought to DC) near Julius - my pet immediately has charm wear off - wtf.

Didn't know this could happen - live and learn.

Did the quest last night there were only two of us a 62 druid and a 55 warrior. Warrior had around 4700 hitpoints and 1100 ac with virtue. Also went and got a speed of vallon along with the druids buffs was done in 45 minutes or so. First druid harmony'd the cleric and I then pulled the warr next was the cleric who was the hardest due to him healing himself.Next druid harmony'd the shaman and I pulled the wizard he nuked me for 600 or so right away the got a 1100pt nuke on me other than that he was gravy.Last was the shaman we rooted him and killed pet first then we took him out druid healed me once that fight nuked him the rest.Quick and painless going back again with the druid to get the heads for her bard.Hope this helps

I had come to get the four mobs once before, and had no luck (they weren't up). This time, I found them up while on my way to DN.

As you zone in from Siren's Grotto, go out the tunnell and make a hard left (turn west). Since these are dragon hunters, it's probably not surprising that they are standing near two dead dragons. You will come to the Cleric and Warrior first. They are standing on the west side of a large rock just before you get to the first dead dragon. This is very close to SG - over a couple of hills and when you hit the plateau, you're almost on top of them).

Once you've killed these two, think of a mirror image - you'll find the Wiz and Shammy on the opposite side of the two dead dragons standing next to a rock - you guessed it, on the East side of it this time.

None summon. All four were white cons to a 55 Warrior that was with me. There were 7 of us, so it's not surprising they dropped VERY easy (65 War, 62 Bard, 61 Chanter, 60 Cleric, 60 Wiz, 59 Monk, 55 War). As a 62 bard, I have zero question that I could have solo'd these easily. I will likely get a group together and take my Warrior for these as soon as she has faction - a 50'ish group would do all four of these easily.

This is a VERY worthwhile quest.

Hello all,

Does anybody know spawn time and the effect area mobs have on spawn time?

You shouldnt really have to worry about spawn time, but it is under 6 hours. Because i killed them, and they were back in under 6 hours...most of the time they are up. Be careful for the wiz, he nukes you 2 times for 600 dmg very quickly.

I did the quest solo with my lvl 61 druid for my warrior. Took about 30min.

you do NOT need to be ally, my warrior was warmly faction and got them just fine.

None of the 4 summoned, Grenth Drakebane CH'd himself once, Julius Oresco was an easy fight, Rontar O'Karn seemed to have the most hitpoints out of all 4 (longer fight but easy), and finally Sadeem Oujva seemed to be by far the hardest of all chain casting very high damage spells not too bad a fight though had very few hit points compared to the others.

I killed all 4 Using a Velium Hound as a pet, 70% hasted he did very well. Charm broke 2 times, no problem as long as they are all snared. Hope this helps!! Best of luck to all!

Did this last night with some friends..

I am 57 Pally... they have a ton of HP's (esp Cleric)

They cast but nothing stellar...

Slowed them...

They all run at about 1 bulb of health and the Shaman haulls butt so root him fast at the end or snare him.

Stuns landed better with a tash but landed the only remarkable thing is that they have a LOT of HPS''' they dont hit hard but take a long time to die... all of them are about in eyeshot of eachother...

Well worth it I love mine...

did you have him loot them or what cause this pic says no drop? is it MQ able or what?
RE: Just did this quest today
# Apr 08 2003 at 12:16 AM Rating: Default
You loot the 4 heads off the 4 mobs in WWL, then turn in the heads in Skyshrine. MQable is pointless since the 4 items needed all drop in the same zone off very similar mobs - meaning if you can get 1 you can probably get all 4.

yes... the 4 heads are dropable and soloable but you can MQ them for your Alt or another guildie. Kill 3, loot the heads.. Kill final mob and log on alt to loot. OR have lower level guilie loot final head. Etc Etc.
Thus the reason he asked if it was MQ'able

this doesnt make sense. I camped my 50 warrior in the tunnel. Then logged a friends 57 druid and killed the cleric and warrior. I logged back onto warrior and looted. Then later, i took a bard, ranger, and friends druid and killed the shaman and his pet...logged warrior looted. Then i had a 65 chanter/65 druid (2boxed) help me kill the wizard, with my warrior. Pulled with cripple or slow, i cant remember...anyways i just tanked it, while druid nuked and healed when i needed. Easy fight over all, but i dont know if a caster could have soloed because she nukes very fast for 600dmg...
summoning?
# Feb 17 2003 at 7:37 PM Rating: Decent
anyone know if these mobs summon or not?
RE: summoning?
# Feb 23 2003 at 3:23 PM Rating: Decent
No they do not summon, just got these shoulders today they are outstanding, quest is really easy, 55+ bards can solo this camp with a little difficulty, just throw wurms at the npcs, cleric is the hardest, had to throw 3 wurms on him at the same time :/ got lucky as pet got the kill...
And lastly the faction info on this is WRONG, the quest CAN be done at warmly :p

What faction is required for these. Tried with kindly and he gave me the first mercenary quest, but when i inquired about the notorious ones, he said come back when ive proved myself more (obviously means get higher faction than kindly).
SkyShrine Guy Location
# Jan 19 2003 at 2:46 AM Rating: Decent
I think the hardest part of this quest is finding the Guy in the MAZE they call Skyshrine... Come in from WL And go left and up stairs.. Go straight until dead end and turn right and go up other set of stairs .. the guy is in this area .. Loc is posted as P144 N169 Its a Barbarian Dude..

Mobs are all 4 up at once .. There are two dead lookin dragon bodies in WW 2 mobs at each one... Not a hard quest at all .. bring a full group and kill dems with ease

Thanks for the information on the whereabouts of these vile dragon haters! Looking forward to heading over and getting this problem solved. I noticed you said you and another turned in the heads, how long was the timer to get multiple heads?
Where are the Notorious Mercenaries Found?
# Dec 11 2002 at 6:15 PM Rating: Decent
Would you give us an idea where these mobs are found? Are they all in one group or can you kill them singly? Is it a long camp to wait for a particular mob to spawn? I would sure appreciate a walkthrough on how you located and killed these mobs.

Ok, go to Western Wastes. From the tunnel, go left and up the hill to where the slain dragons are. Located next to each slain dragon will be 2 Mercs. A lvl 60+ Druid can single pull them. Each Merc is a caster and are difficult to kill but easely doable with a group of 3. There is a Paladin, Cleric, Shaman (w/ pet), and a Wizard. Of the four, the Cleric was the toughest as the little punk kept CH'ing. :) Collect the heads and do the turn in. BTW, these shoulders gave my 60 SK 63 HP's and my 61 Warrior friend got 75 hp's. Not too shabby if you ask me. Hope this helps.

I don't really see how you can compare this to strength of elements. Naturally 100 raw hps is much better but when you look at the work involved, I would say both rewards are appropriate. My warrior is running around in a combination of Champion's ( bp, helm ) and fierce heraldic, but I still had crested spaulders in my shoulder slot ( go ahead and laugh =P ). This is a very nice upgrade and will net me more hps than fierce heraldic, which only gives 60 raw. I will be doing this quest tonight as I now have the faction for it.

Weak for the work involved? The only work is getting a few friends to WW when to mobs are up. Mobs are easily killable with one group and 15ac shoulders with +12 str/sta +6 Save v. cold/fire are nothing to sneeze at (especially if you're a race that cant use IGS from the Hole. Name me better ones you can get with one hour's work...basically a free item if you're ally CoV and high enough level.

Did this quest yesterday with a 62 Druid, 61 Cleric and a 60 Shadow Knight. Quite easy too. All 4 mobs are casters (Paladin, Cleric, Shaman, Wizard). The Dorf Cleric was the toughest out of them all.
