Lets not forget the Rangers/BL...
# Jan 16 2004 at 5:03 PM Rating: Default
Granted, ranger is down there with BL for weakest healers. But when it hits the fan, it's often my heals that make the crucial difference.

The shaman is frantically slowing adds, tank is getting as much aggro as possible, other ranger is TMing, cleric is healing the tank and the druid is healing the other ranger, and I'm spot healing the shaman, druid and cleric. A little crazy, but it happened a couple times. I let myself die once after a bad pull, but no other deaths in that group in the 5 or so hours.

I may be a ranger, my best heal may have a base value of 428, but I'll not rest til I get Improved Healing!
no ch chain?? HUH?
# Dec 02 2003 at 1:06 AM Rating: Default
Seigfried....A CH chain is very nearly ALWAYS used on a full raid encounter in a long fight unless the mob hits like a gimp.

You start the CH just before the mob is engaged with a pause timer set up calling for the start of the next ch, therefore a ch is hitting the mt every 3 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds or whatever fits that particular encounters needs. With some mobs taking 5 to 10 minutes to down at times you would run out of mana quicker than **** using fast heals.
mob?

can anyone tell me what mob this drops off of? ive looked for awhile on the site and couldnt find the mob they have listed on the beastiary. any help is appreaciated =)
#REDACTED, Posted: May 10 2003 at 3:56 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) At the stage of the game when this mask is atainable, Clerics get the same ammount of use for it as another healing class, the healing4 focus is extremely useful as on any raid over tier 2, clerics do NOT use Cheal. if you tried, the MT is dead long before you get close to casting. Clerics and other healers are all using the (mostly post 60) fast casting heals, with the cleric supernal remedy being the fastest (and as a result the most cast) at 1.8 cast time

For someone that has a 65 Cleric, you are utterly clueless to how raiding actually works eh? CH Chain = how you keep a tank up through a fight where a mob would rip your tank to shreds if not healed for 10 seconds.

This would be best to a fast cast healer for AEs and patch healing like Shammies, Druids, etc.

The MT would be dead and buried, and you on your way to bind if running ch chain.

Especially in Plane of Tactic, where the mobs dispell a lot, and the clerics would see their buffs disappear.

Tweed, for someone who is so well with raids, you should know that CH chain does not work on PoP raids. Most of the time you do not want to be in melee range of the mobs because of AEs and rampage, and CH is too slow to be chaining in a raid situation, your tank will be dead far too fast. Every cleric who raids in PoP knows that you use assist healing with SL/SR, and I see people chain casting DI more than I see chain CH. Lets also not forget fights like TZ where he uses Knockback a lot, your clerics will not only be out of range of your tank practically the whole fight, but your CH would be interupted in process. So an item like this would benefit to the cleric, shaman, and druid.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 08 2003 at 7:52 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hmmm... raid much? THis item should be going to patch healers first. Other than mobs that have an AE that interrupts casting, your clerics SHOULD still be busy in a Complete heal chain. It's your patch healers that will reap your guild the most benefit from this item.

Use Supernal Light. With spell haste, item spell haste, healing adept aa, improved healing item, and mana pres. 4 item, you can pump out a 3.5k to 4k hp heal in about 2.5 seconds at a cost of 480-550 mana. Mana hog yes, but Mana Pres helps alot.

With Remedy, you get speed and distance but not alot of healing power for the mana cost. You can cast this silly and still have a main tank lacking hit points.

Complete Heal is still the king of heals by mana/heal ratio, just alot can happen in 10 seconds.

"Improved Healing IV" does not work on any % healing spells such as SE....
Nor does it work on CHs...

Works on your fast heals...this would be good item for any of the classes listed

It's a very good item for shamans, too. Their % heal is lousy, worse and less mana efficient than a druid's, and a shaman canni'ing a lot and casting little heals here and there can save clerics from having to do a lot of healing, so cleric's can med and stay lower on the aggro list, and have their mana there when they really need it. My shaman, with an improved healing 4 range slot and a single level in crit healing AA, gets in a fair number of 2700 and 2800 heals with Tnargs, which also casts very quickly.

There are other alternatives out there with IH 4 -- ceramic totem of rathe for all healers, shaman ornate sleeves for shamans specifically, and more. It's a key focus to have for any healer, even bottom of the barrel healers like shamans. It can actually make them heal for very notable amounts even on 8 and 9k tanks over the course of a raid or even a simple group session.

Frankly as a lvl 64 cleric I would love to have an item with heal4 on it. When things get nasty and I have to use my lvl 61 and 63 fast heals the added hp I would heal with this item would be wonderful. Plus the added hp to my lvl 64 group heal spell (2500 to group) would again make this a super item to have.
Cleric's opinion
# Dec 09 2002 at 2:07 PM Rating: Decent
As a cleric, I think it's a nice item for all the listed classes. VI has diversified the cleric roll to count on heals from anywhere we can get it. Ranger, druid, shaman, Beast heals have all saved my rump in recent days so I don't mind spreading the gear around to other classes.

Personally, IF I were already at max FT and didn't need the current FT I have on the face slot, this would be a nice item for that slot.
Beastlords
# Dec 08 2002 at 11:02 PM Rating: Decent
I rarely post, but as a 61 Savage Lord on the Nameless, I figured I should in this instance.

When Beastlords were designed, it was made pretty clear that they were set up to be TMers. There are not too many items out there that make us advanced healers as this one does.

Our 61 Pet heal spell Heals our pet for 2100 hps and takes about the same amount of time as our friendly clerics out there to cast a Cheal. If more people alowed us to be the TMers, then I would say, "Make sure you get this on the guilds BST."

Alot of people will say I am being dumb... But when You see a BST TM a tough mob for about the same time it takes 20 people to kill the first mob... You will change your tune.

ok Enough ranting. 8^)

Stay safe.

wow...very nice....not that it should be cleric only....but i think cleric in group should get first dibs....but grats to whomever loots this

Actually, improved healing 1-4 is better for a non-cleric. Although now that Complete Healing is only 7500 points its nice too. But would really benifit a non-cleric healer more.
Agree
# Dec 05 2002 at 8:20 AM Rating: Good
I agree, the reason being that Improved Healing 4 does not affect CH spells or HOT spells (which are the majority that clerics use). Probably more useful for a Druid, Shaman, or Paladin (group heals it works on)
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 05 2002 at 3:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Kinda funny that you think that really ... do clerics most often cast, or want to cast, complete heals and heal over times? sure thing! they are way more mana effecient than our quick heals.
RE: Agree
# Dec 06 2002 at 4:43 AM Rating: Good
Kinda funny you think its funny. He didn't say a cleric wouldn't get any use out of it, he said a non-cleric would get more use out of it, which is a correct statement. What you say is true too, except the fact that you felt the need to bash his stance, which is a correct stance on the issue.

I play a 65 cleric..and lemme tell you...in pop, we don't always use ch...only time i use ch now is if the tank has over 6khp...otherwise i use supernal remedy...which with mana pres/imp healing, makes it a 3k heal for about 500 mana...with healing adept maxxed, its over 3k. and in pop battles, we rarely use CH these days...its all about supernal light in these battles...rydda'dar for instance has too much dps for CH unless you have 20+ clerics casting with a /pause of 1 or something like that
