Ok for those who don't realize this. This is a regular spell we can cast. It's basically a useless effect on armor for us. If your spell doesn't allow you to see something your higher level familiars will. So you are basically wasting money on this item. Don't even bother, and as for Sony, What the hell were you thinking, you just made us a useless item. Gee THANKS, try thinking next time.
Woot For PoS items

For Wizzies this isnt all that great of an item, the effect is nearly useless ( good thinking Sony ). By the level u can get this u have your pet so u can already see invis. You probably have at least one piece of gear that illuminates the area, so the ultravision isnt anything special. On the Rathe the patterns go for around 2-3k and there is a glut of them. Might see em start to go for 500pp soon.

All ornate head pieces have Plainsight. All elemental head pieces have Faerune (Plainsight + enduring breath). To say it's useless is stupid. Yes, the familiar can give you see invis, but you don't always have a familiar up. See invis is important to many in raid situations. My guild asks that all players have a worn see invis item.

Ultravision rocks! I can't say anything more than that. If you think a good light source makes up for not having it, well that is your opinion. I'd encourage others to not take this Plainsight for granted.

What is the graphic on this?
# Apr 17 2004 at 10:04 AM Rating: Decent
What does this thing look like when worn? Some caps have a strange appearance to them.
RE: What is the graphic on this?
# Jul 26 2004 at 5:15 AM Rating: Decent
No graphic, which is ridiculous since it is one of the harder head slot items to get. Wish they had a quest to recieve a graphic like SS armor.
question
# Nov 20 2003 at 1:50 AM Rating: Decent
Is this cap better for a wizard than a Bubonian Bandaged turban? I play a wizard on PvP server but have a see invis item already. Thoughts?
RE: question
# Nov 24 2003 at 9:48 AM Rating: Decent
Hands down Arantir's is better - better AC, +HP, +mana, same resists, same DEX, +effect which is helpful unless you're a dark elf.

The only advantage of Bubonian is a slight edge on STR.
Kinda upset

This thing would be perfect if this was an insta click.

# Mar 24 2004 at 4:20 AM Rating: Decent
It is a worn effect. Why would you want it to be clickable?

for junk buffs against debuffing mobs.
Graphic? Equip?
# Oct 27 2003 at 6:47 PM Rating: Decent
Does this head item have a graphic? I hate the gnome helmet look!! And my other question is I didnt notice a required/recommend level....so I assume I can wear at 58, do I need to be higher for turn in??

I can't answer the question about the graphic, but as far as doing the turn in you will need to be level 60.

Edit-I was wrong about the level. Just tried with a lvl 56 toon and was able to do it.

Level 55+ can do ornate turnins, regardless of any flags they may have.

This is a decent hat, but I'd say for now you'd be better off staying with your JSFC simply because you haven't gotten your PoP nukes yet, which means the JSFC will work on the nukes you're using.

Once you get to level 62-63, your PoP nukes blow the doors off everything prior, so it doesn't make much sense sticking with a focus item that doesn't work for your spells.
The JSFC does have more mana, but not by much (only 15 more on the JSFC compaired with this).

All in all, I'd say wait until you're at least 62 to get this, unless of course you need the ultravision.
Cool

I just got this today, I like it because being a human wizzy I am constantly casting plainsight on myself. We can stack our sight buffs so its no biggy for a junk buff..I usually use resistant skin anyway. Well anyway its nice to have my first pop armour, really hoping for the bracer tho.

Nice stats but effect sucks for us dark elfs although good for the races that dont see well at night time.

Plainsight is nice...
# Jun 30 2003 at 6:40 PM Rating: Default
But is it a click or a permanant? I would prefer click. Takes up that almighty first junk buff slot.

Sorry, it's a permanent effect (while the item is worn). I've updated the entry accordingly.
