Headed to the tower with Saryrn. Stepped on the bones by the door and got 2 spiders to pop. First one dropped the strands so didn't bother looting the second. Got the duplicate lore item warning. On my way out, got another spider trap. This time just one spider. Trap location: 656, -334. Killed it. Also dropped the strands.
Dropped off that first "A parylyx hatchling" like other posts have stated. Zone in, go across the bridges past the birds, go straight the first intersection past those two wolf looking mobs, and continue on around the bend and it should trigger the mob. I would assume it drops every time.
This worked for me as well. First spider that appeared dropped the item.

Easy to get the spider right by the zone in dropped it first time- Probably everytime looking at peoples posts.
Drops from a parylyx hatchling in Plane of Torment. Zone in and across the bridge straight through the intersection before the first bend and spider pops static. Dropped the Strand of living chain every time. "You cannot loot this Lore Item. You already have one." Had one in the bank already hehe.
