Nice!

My Guild, Xodus, took down Glykus the other night with a little help from Triune. The robe pattern dropped, and they gave it to me. Good thing too, cuz I think I messed my old one when Wrothgarr looted it. =p

At the time I was 61 - did the combine, bought the swatches for 75pp each in bazaar (lowest price, hehe Fri nite good night for shoppin on MT), paid the 500 to Bor for the kit and emblem, and 131 for the needle. So expect to pay between 850 and 1k to make the robe.

Yes, under 64 can clicky the effect, which makes this a damn nice robe to have, esp if running with SD and Nines, which I do alot. The Extra MR is the real kicker for me right now. I'm not a PL/Grinder so having this spell 3 levels earlier is awesome. And by awesome, I mean Totally Sweet. It does not consume ANY reagents to cast as someone mentioned below (check the lucy entry on the spell.)

The only thing is this robe uses the bright red robe design from the original game - was kinda hoping for something new and original. I had to color it so mine coincidentally looks like the High Elf fashion pic posted above.

The rest of the stats are fantastic, IMO. This is a great robe for non-twinked mid 60 Enchanters - don't knock it!!
Tailoring

BTW .. you do not have to have the NO FAIL sewing kit to combine this unless you want to be garenteed NO FAIL .. even if I was maxed in Tailoring I would still get the NO FAIL sewing kit .. Insurance on this is still good

Well, now we know who has never made ANY ornate armor. If you had you would know that ALL ornate armor are NO-FAIL combines. After you take your foot out of your mouth why don't you scroll down a little and you will see that someone already posted this info.

well, now i dont have mem this, remem the spell that i dropped for it, and IMHO the stats are just fine. AC is a lil low, but come on, the rest of the stats are pretty nice. Didnt get this for the effect although it is helpful.
Hardly an upgrade

to the Illusionists Robe of SS quest. Not worth the kind of money the ornate pattern would fetch. Color me disappointed and sticking to my current robe.
Level requirements

Anyone know if you need to be level 60 to cast the clicky effect?

All Ornate Armor effects that I'm aware of work at lvl 55. You can't do the quest before level 55 so that's all good.
Not so good

Effect is somewhat meaningless since (as already pointed out) we can already cast this spell. Not to mention it lasts 1 hour 30min so the mana savings in recasts over time is very insignificant. If it were something that had a lower duration effect (Nights Dark Terror), drastically higher mana cost, a slightly better version of Shield of Maelin or something that is good to have but hate filling spell slot with it (There are so many) I would dig it more.
Bracer has FT
# Jan 01 2003 at 1:02 AM Rating: Default
the Bracer has FT2 on it so manaless Shield os ok
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 13 2003 at 2:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) still requires a Peridot to cast :( would prefer Arcane Rune on this for effect

You must be mistaken by the Velious armor which clicks RuneIV, these click Shield of the Maelin.

I dont like being negative, but hey.

The effect on this sucks ***. We can cast this spell, or silimilar one for low manna cost. Would have been nice to see something useful like FT 1 even instead of shield of crap effect.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 06 2002 at 3:38 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well...to be honest...the swatches take 2 bd's to make each and have a reported triv of 212. Robe requires 3 swatches. Not sure if swatches are no-drop, but the robe is. You're looking at 6bd's minimum just for an attempt. Don't know what robe trivs at, but I'm willing to bet 250...just too nice. Since the end product is no-drop, you have to get your tailoring up high...and that is *not* easy...nor cheap.
RE: Difficulty to make
# Mar 08 2003 at 4:16 PM Rating: Excellent
This doesn't take any BD's to make. The silk swatches are 2 ethereal silks (common drop in tier 2+) and a temper made of celestial essence, paeala sap and soda. The real hooker is that you can't combine the temper or the silks unless you have a skill over the actual trivial of the items, which sucks for me cause even though mine are high enough to get a decent success rate I have to pay someone else to make the silks, which sucks...oh the final combine is no fail and takes the sewing kit from wharhammer guy in PoT for 500pp (use once) and a tanaan embroidery needle which costs 131pp (you get this part back)
RE: Difficulty to make
# Dec 14 2002 at 3:58 PM Rating: Good
Actually the final combines are no-fail. The swatches and such are based on trade skills.

Therefore you gather the components and find the people maxed in the particular trade skills and have them make the items.

You just take the final items and combine them in your kit for the no-fail ending. :)
Hmm

Kind of disapointed in this one. So far I noticed that (on the whole) the tranquility armors blow away Sky Shrine quest armor and the like (look at the warrior BP for an example. This is better then the enchanter Skyshrin robe I guess, but even looking at how much of an upgrade it is over the Robe of Benevolence it is not as jaw dropping of an upgrade as the other classes reported thus far. (HoT silk is so damn rare anyway it might not be the best comparision).

I will add that at level 60 gear doesn't fall from the sky, it takes alot of work in a guild and a good network of friends to get upgrades. Anything you can do primarily for yourself while XPing and not raiding is more of a "sure thing" then catching the high end mob you need up and winning out agains your peers to get the loot. These armors may not be as good as some stuff a decen group of 60ish folks could get while raiding, but EQ is a game of inches and this could get you by until you got better.

Just my two cents tho, and honeslty my knowledge of caster gear is limited.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 21 2002 at 8:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) god by 60 I'd hope you have some thing at least this good, not all will, but it shouldn't be that hard to find better for fairly cheap
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 21 2002 at 8:43 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) its not that good for a level 60+ and it looks kinda boring... even tho i would take this any day but at lvl 60 im sure i would have something better
