Shamen
# Feb 08 2004 at 5:42 PM Rating: Decent
Just to make a point, and not to say other classes should not get this. In one sitting, I have to rebuff a group twice before an enchanter or cleric has to rebuff once. This is because shamen's stat buffs last 58 minutes. Focus of Soul and 7th last 1:25ish. There are a lot of spells we cast during grouping, here's a small list. Focus, Boar, Wrulan, Diaku, Replenishment, Talisman of Alacrity, Tribunal, Bih`li, Feral Avatar, (oddly Acumen), and rarely Levitate and EB. One cast of any small number of these is average all of your mana even with 305 wisdom.

Not saying shamen deserve it more, but I doubt we deserve it less.
enhancement stack

Just curious here, I have the 8th shawl (20% extended duration), and the extended enhancement aa (30% extended duration) = 50% extended duration buffs.

So am asking, Will extended enhancement IV stack on top of those other 2 modifiers?!!! 65% extended? Holy crap! Almost can buff and forget for a cpl of hours!! lol

No, you'll only get the 50% you already have since this wont stack with your item.

Picked this up today and yes it was tradeable.

As for what class should get this item? Well first you got to consider the best thing about it is the Focus Effect: Extended Enhancement IV.

So count Wizards, Magicians, and Necros out since they are really not considerd buff classes. They only way these classes could get this item is if all the other classes that could use it already had the effect.

Enchanters and Shammys are the kings of buffs so they would get first shot at it. I would say Enchanters first because yes the 10 INT helps. Even though My INT is maxed already, getting INT on this item would allow me to free up another slot that might of only had INT and get HP or something else there.

Druids and Clerics tied for 3rd for this item.

If you go by buffs, then Clerics should get the item with the Ench. and Shammy group. Clerics have a lot of Hp buffs that can realy help.

I agree Clr's buffs use regents as enchanters common buffs don't. So it helps that there buffs last longer

Once you get past the Kei and Rune from the chanters and the Virtue and symbol from the Clerics Who really needs this?? who is always being called on to rebuff?? That's right Shamans and most of our buffs are mana hogs from 49 up.

Lmao ok, shammies all the way huh? Well, I agree that shammies do buff a lot, but my enchanter has much to do after KEI. Haste drops regularly, and without having completed my epic haste is about 300 mana a shot, and in the midst of 3 or 4 adds to hold down I'm not going to haste. Lets see, magic resist buffs....would be nice not to have to cast those as often. I also don't ever remember the duration on rune being a problem. Its usually eaten up WAY before the duration runs out. I don't know, I think this item should be open roll for all buffing classes. Just wanted to let you know that your comment had no backing in your attempt to convince people that shaman should be given this before any others. =P

All those classes this would be handy for, there may be a 'best' way to list who should get first, but in the end, just make it a goal to get one for each class that can use it in your ranks. /wave

"Once you get past the Kei and Rune from the chanters and the Virtue and symbol from the Clerics..."

I'm not sure about chanters but a FOM cleric can go OOM without finishing buffing his group. Chanters can gather mana, I haven't seen a shammy call LOM in a LONG time. With that said, There's plenty of relatively affordable EEIV items out there so I guess we should really let anyone who can use it bid on it.
Enchanter gather mana
# Sep 16 2004 at 2:27 PM Rating: Decent
You're mistaken, Damuri. The Harvest series of spells belong to the wizards, not the enchanters. Enchanters are stuck with only enchanter mana regen buffs just like the reset of the caster community.

Shaman don't usually go completely OOM because of their Cannibalize spell series. They're too busy killing themselves to worry about being OOM. Smiley: jester

As for "affordable" Extended Enhancement IV items, there are only two that aren't NoDrop: this and the Ceramic Shield of Valor. I wouldn't exactly call 40k pp affordable myself... I've never even seen one of these Idols in the Bazaar on Prexus, which means that they'd probably sell well over 100k pp if it ever did make it to Bazaar.

When I first looked at this, I figured I'd not want to replace my Talisman of Benevolence for this. After thinking a bit more, I think this would be better than the Talisman for a Shaman:

While the Talisman give about 65 more mana at level 60 than this would, this has the following advantages:

1. More Hit Points (96 incl. STA vs. 38 for Talisman). HPs = mana with Canni, so a smaller mana pool but more hit points is acceptable.

2. 40 total saves vs. 24 for Talisman.

3. More AC - Shaman tend to get slapped around for casting slows/debuffs, so this is a nice plus.

4. 15% increased duration for buffs (Extended Enhancement IV). MAJOR PLUS.

Overall, I'd go with this over the Talisman for my Shaman if I ever get a chance at it. As for the other classes that can use it, it really depends on your spell mix (it might not be worth it for classes that do not spend a lot of time and mana buffing as a Shaman will).

Chanters need this way more then any Shammy-
Shammys just need mana for buffing and slowing and the occosional dot or two

Enchanters cant be waisting there mana on buffs during fights. sure most of time we sit with a big mana pool but as for the times your puller some how manages to pull 3-6 extra mobs u c how fast your mana goes down holding all of them and if you are lom before the fight your groups going to wipe

so yes it is a nice shammy item but the chanters need this item just as much if not more then u do

He didn't say anything about who he thought should get it. All he did was compare it to another popular item for shamans. The closest he came to saying anything about other classes was he wasn't sure how it stacked up against similiar items for them, and that they'd have to figure it out for themselves.

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 20 2002 at 3:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Id say the best classes for this item are Necro and chanter, but im thinking necro most of all, considering its Cha less...
#KalRox, Posted: Nov 29 2002 at 2:51 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) actually, i'd say necro last, because of the focus effect.
RE: best class
# Nov 20 2002 at 5:30 PM Rating: Default
Although this is great for a necro too, it has nothing to do with the fact it has no cha. In fact, it is so damn easy to get 300 cha or so that enchs wont really care. Plu, cha only affects a few spells like the calm line, barely affects mezz, and not enough tests to prove it's a significant force with charms.

RE: best class
# Dec 12 2002 at 10:54 PM Rating: Default
umm Chanters have to buff haste and C3 & up. All and all best for an enchanter also makes scarecrow illusion and other castable spells on other folks last longer. Less mana over time more for mezzing and slowing should we be required.

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 19 2002 at 6:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Great for enchanter for KEI/tranq/WoQ, even better for clerics with all their great buffs. But, those are just the classes that will most likely get this first. All classes that can use this would highly benefit.
RE: YAY
# Dec 16 2002 at 5:55 PM Rating: Default
This would go to a Shaman, Druid, or Enchanter before a Cleric. The most important buffers in a raid situation (which this guy requires) are those that dole out the STR/STA, Skin/DS/Regen, and Mana/GRM buffs. I would recommend this to a Shaman, even though I'm a cleric.

#StrungOut, Posted: Nov 19 2002 at 5:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Uh, you guys forgot the wisdom on this? Good item but I probably wouldn't use it without the 10 wis.

Amazing as it sounds... its possible to switch items! Buff everyone up with this then switch to your wis gear.

Bah!

If you can't max out your Wisdom as a Cleric, then you don't deserve this item!

This is to nice to just be a swap in peace of gear, I would pass on it for a chanter
