An excellent waist item. The only qualms I'd have about it were if it were to go to a pure-melee class. But even then, if they need the upgrade, so be it.
I was lucky enough to win one on a /random when my guild did a joint raid, making merit looting imposible. Needless to say, as a bard I was THRILLED to recieve it since only FT can help me regen mana (I want crack darn it)
oh ya.. I got it on a 999/1000

there is something on this belt for every class. GESSH ppl does it really matter if a ranger gets this over a pally, NO, if ur guild can drop VZ then chances are u are gonna do ti again and theres the chance of the belt droping. As a ranger i would love to have this belt the dex str wis hp mana SvM ( very important stat on SZ) and FTIII, this is a nice belt no matter what class you are

DKP, is prolly the best way to award loots, unless u have the most honest guild in the world and u look at every1s belt and see who needs it the most. /random isnt a bad way to award loots but DKP is a way to even the playing field out, and away to award the few ppl who attened every raid no matter what is gonna drop

Who gets this?

Uena Said-

I'm sorry but I have to call BS. I have NEVER heard a truly convincing argument for DKP. The common statement is that it's fairer than rolling, which I accept, but to which I propose this: is it MORE FUN to encourage guildies to hoard points and slowly save up for the better gear (also motivating them to NOT spend points on the mediocre gear - why would they waste money on stuff that's only a minor upgrade when they'll get the uber stuff later?), or would it be more enjoyable to encourage guildies to raid with the thought in their mind that they every so often might get a nice drop? I know what I run in my guild, and though we're not 'uber' as you define it, it certainly works for us.

The reason people do DKP is theres the SELECT group, though of no fault of there own, are greedy. They only go to the raids where they can roll on something, therefore the GUILD is hurt when they dont go... IF you offer them a reward to go (DKP) then heck You would see your monks killing thunder all the time (Thunder drops no monk lewtz) But heck why would they want to go if they cant roll (remember this is the greedy people!) BUT if they get dkp they can buy BETTER upgrades... DKP doesnt hurt anyone, at least not from my knowledge, I only raided on weekends in a DKP guild for a month, I amassed 25 dkp, enough to buy one VERY nice piece of equipment (this would be about 25dkp in a raiding guild, so if you spend one week, raid with your guild, and are on a DKP system... you get a major upgrade a week! Also, when a guild is on a DKP system, the people are willing to raid with people they dont get along with, raid where they dont want to, and are able to kill mobs that your "average" everyday guild could not (NOW there ARE some exceptions!) But on a whole, I for one will never join a /random guild agian. Its to much for luck, heck you could raid 3 months in a row every night with them and not win... It's not fair.

I have to admit that you certainly have a point. Random screws hard working guildies, and rewards selfish ones. It was a little short-sighted of me to not consider that initially.

Why would it suck for casters? Unless you're in a n00b pickup raid, this will go straight tocasters and priests.

There is no reason why a good guild wouldn't award the award this this to a hybrid. It would be especially nice for a bard or pally/sk.

On another note.. If your guild can do VZ, here are other obtainable 100HP belts for melee. (No special keys or flagging needed)

not many casters have FT15, even those who kill VZ. if this thing drops, there is almost NO chance that it wont be an upgrade for SOMEONE.

Got this last night, first time it has dropped for my guild after around 6 or so kills. Were on a DKP system as are most guilds at this point.
How gets it???
# Jul 10 2003 at 6:17 PM Rating: Decent
I dont see a sense in discusing who soud get it, 99% of the guilds there can drop VZ runs on DKP system, so the one with most DKP points gets it, if that person is int in it.

Sorry, but I'm sick of this cliche... a lot of big guilds do not use dkp... I don't think any of the major guilds on Bristlebane do at the moment.

And VZ is kind of a pansy anyway... it's not like you have to be seven ways to uber to drop his purple ***. =)

Everyone's tired of the "who should get this" question... but we all get sucked into it anyway.

Me? I'd love this belt. Dex, HP, Mana, Wis... FT3 always helps too, man.

But really? I'd love to see this to go to a paladin. Why? I can't count how many times my **** has been saved by their group heals - sometimes, its all the healer you can throw into a group. I remember that time in ST... 1100AE DD... thanks Domi, for keepin my **** standing.

Heh, I'm not sure I've ever seen a cleric waste mana on healing rangers in a raid showdown, unless ya count MGB HoTs aimed at keeping casters standing. Cheaper to clicky rez 'em :P

AS a cleric I tend to agree on the healing part. We are extremely low on healers in my guild, clerics heal the MT, many other classes get heals from shammies/pallies/druid or cleric bots. I always try to have a pally in my group during raids, if someone starts getting low, I can Divine Arb and the pally group heals. Other healers and ench(if CC type encounter like bert)are about the only exceptions usually, but rogs and wizards get attention as well if the situation warrants.

I am max FT, I have over FT 15 in gear and I would take this belt via our DKP if I had the chance. FT items with nice stats are not easy to get en masse, stuff like ornate bracers andf solstice earring just bump up the FT until better can be obtained and they can be replaced. This belt is one of those FT items that will last a while and is useful for any class with a mana bar including bards and would be happy to see any of them get this in my guild

Heh, I am a lvl 61 Cleric with only FT1 so I would love to get the chance at a nice item like this. No my guild isn't in VT at this point in time, nor does even a third of my guild have their VT keys...so this item would be awesome for those lucky enough to be flagged for this zone.

we killed him for the first time awhile ago, and 2 of these dropped, one to my sk and one to a pally, if your guild is actively progressing there way thru PoP, your casters and clerix have decent gear, so to say that it SHOULD go to a caster is retarded

for one this thing has dropped everytime weve killed vallon...and also real guilds dont roll on items...boss mobs drop loot everytime you kill them (after theyve been itemized) and PoP loot tables seem to be 4 or 5 different items instead of the old 12 to 15 item ones weve seen before

I have been in many many high end raid situations, and my pet has lived every single time. Why u ask, well the pet inherit the same resists as its master now.

So something in what you say is true, if the pet owner has gay resist or the AE is unresistable, this count for beastlords level 60 or below.

Besides do some research first, beastlords level 60 wont go and kill Vallon Zek, a totally new game start for us at lvl 62 with our new pet, he is level 60 himself, has approx 5k hp, so he does NOT drop like a fly, he will skin any melee class alive in PvP, trust me i have tried that and peple yawm over how powerful the pets are.

Fortunatley beastlords have one of the best heals in game for our pets, so it will only die if the beastlord is sloppy forgetting to heal his companion, no healer class is needed to waste valuable time on healing pets, we can do that ourselves.

so please research stuff before posting crap informatin here on this site.

oh and besides our new buff is 9/9 not 7/7 as the lvl 59 one, try the ballgame above 60 before posting stuff.

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 18 2002 at 8:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'd really hope this went to a priest or int caster. No offense, but I know most people would rather have their healers, mezzers, primary nukers and evacers have the mana regen than a hybrid. But yes, this is great for any class, and eventually when enough are gotten they will be handed to hybrids.
RE: Yay!
# Nov 18 2002 at 10:00 PM Rating: Decent
Actually there is a very good argument for giving this to certain hybrids that I heard. Hybrids are generally in Melee most of the time, meaning they do not get much time to med. FT items can make up for that fact. I would say that Beastlords are one of the more valuable hybrids as they can do many things that Shamen can do. So there is some validation to giving this to a Hybrid.

But I agree with you that I'd give it to a caster first. Primarily Clerics, since Shammies can Canni and Chanters can Mana Tap. Most of the time other casters can run OOM and it won't cause a wipe.
RE: Yay!
# Aug 13 2003 at 12:49 PM Rating: Default
Let me know the next time a beastlord on a raid is doing the same things as the shaman there. Additionally, beastlords use up far less mana on most raids than, say, paladins unless their pets are getting owned.

Oh... and giving FT items only to Clerics is lame... yeah we're useful, but the fact that I have CH doesn't make me more deserving of cool gear than any other mana user.
RE: Yay!
# Nov 18 2002 at 10:19 PM Rating: Decent
Ah, but you've forgotten. It is quite probable that *every* caster, except hybrids, will have Flowing Thought 15 by the time he or she reaches the point of being able to kill Vallon Zek. He is, after all, the boss of a tier 2 keyed plane dungeon. Only a guild with the strength to enter and/or clear Vex Thal will have forces substantial enough to clear this zone and drop Vallon Zek. Therefore, even though I dislike arguments over which classes items should be distributed to, I must say this would PROBABLY go to a hybrid.
RE: Yay!
# Jan 04 2004 at 2:00 AM Rating: Default
VZ is doable with 15-18 somewhat well geared people just takes a lot of time. Far as the VT comment. Most any guild of 65's is strong enough to do VT now, just a matter of going through the hassle to get the key and most don't so they don't have the FT15 that the VT people do. We're in sol ro and almost to elemental, we only have a few FT15 casters.

Dude, my guild toasted VZ easily and we arent VT equipped. VT is overrated imho.
BTW this belt went to a bard on a dkp system, excellent belt for a bard as they get absolutely NO mana regen except FT and AA mental clarity. The bidding between the bards was fierce as there arent too many bard useable FT items as good as this.

Perhaps 1-3 of the main clerics will have this much, it will be a good reward to any class, cept non mana users(yes even bards, with escape its needed).

Oh I dunno Sccales. I'm a cleric and not yet ft15 and I've downed this guy a couple times. If you click on my magelo, You'll see I only have ft9 (I think).

Due to the bonuses in str and dex, I'd say it would be more appealling to a "player" based on what they intend to do. It's very nice if you're a cleric using the Proccing hammers since Proc is effected by your dex, and the added str ups your damage slightly, even if you're a cleric/pally/SK or what have you.

The only reason I could see a hybrid not getting too excited about this would be that perhaps they have a regen item or haste item already in their belt slot.
