Anger of Druzzil is spell haste on fire spells i believe. May be wrong but i'm pretty sure it goes Eci=cold haste druzzil=fire. I think there are more like that but dont know the names.

LoL, Ihave to say the posts were very amusing but I'm a 65 necro and was curious to whether this effect would be utilized on neurotoxin or life taps etc..

No worn focus effects stack in a similar way...

ie whatever Improved Damage focus you have that is highest will take effect.

If you have Mana Pres 3 and Affliction Efficiency 3, both of which reduce mana costs, but MP3 is on almost all spells, whereas AE3 just affects Affliction-type spells... whichever has the highest % of Focus will take hold.

There are some spells and bard songs that will stack with worn focus effects, though.

Anger of E'Ci (worn) + Iceflame of E'Ci (wizard self buff)+ Rizlona's (Bard song) = lots of Damage on Ice Spear of Solist and Ancient: Destruction of Ice =)

Last I checked, Rizlona's doesn't stack with Iceflame of E`ci, since spell-based focus effects don't stack, just like hastes. You can still get the +53% damage from Anger+Iceflame of E`ci.

bard songs dont nessicarily count against buffs. IE you can have C5 and wind of marr at the same time and they stack, also you can have 1 haste item, 1 haste buff, and bard haste all stack, so i would guess that they all 3 would stack, havent tested it yet with a bard.

You'd think after all of the mag only, pal only, enc only loot they stuffed luclin to the brim with, something named 'Wand of the War Wizard' would be wizard only!
PIC?

ANyone have a PIC of this equipped by chance? Was told it has a particle affect as well - and would love to see a screen shot of it.

Looks like the wand icon in the item window, with little red flames falling off the end.

One should note...that the effect only affects magic based spells.
Bah, definitely not from Sword of Truth novels.

"War Wizard" is such a generic term, could easily be a coincidence that they put it here.

Besides, in those novels, Richard never uses a wand...do any of the wizards? I don't recall seeing any.

They use the term War Wizard because this item drops off a mob that serves The Warlord, Rallos Zek

j/k nice gear!!
Very nice for an enchanter
# Nov 15 2002 at 8:37 AM Rating: Default
Would love to pick up this item for my enchanter. Plusses to both critical stats, Mana, HP/Sta, AC, and decent save bonuses. The focus effect wouldn't help us too much in the later game (as we are really more for buffing than damage output) but nonetheless it is still really nice. Anyone know how much one of these would go for?
go!

Here's a better post than the ones below. Wow a focus effect that's better than any magician made one on an item that isn't half bad to have as an offhand as a caster. Great item. See, no worrying about the name or what it looks like or what it should be.

Uhh.. a Wand is not normally considered a weapon. A wand would be a finely-tuned magical (short)staff, normally, so this would be a Wand. And as for Wand of the War Wizard, my bet would be that the mob that drops it is the War Wizard...

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 14 2002 at 6:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah stupid name, never mind the fact for simply wearing this wizards get get nearly 500 extra points of damage for the 2000 dd. And the stats are hlaf bad either.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 14 2002 at 6:08 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) VI needs to look at how they name things, with a name like "Want of the War Wizard" I was thinking it would be WIZ only and an uber weapon of like 1HB with 20/20 or something like that. Not some week *** shield!

Always ones to "borrow" ideas from other well founded fastasy schools, VI has done it again with this one. In Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, the protagonist Richard is a War Wizard. One with both sides of the magical gift. He is the most powerful wizard born in 3000 years, yet he can hardly use his magic most of the time. But his potential for power is untold. Being as how this effect would make a nuker more powerful than someone without the effect, I see the item's name as being quite fitting.

..."War wizard" is indeed a generic fantasy term. Think D&D setting, Forgotten Realms - "the war wizards of Cormyr", to begin with.

*rolls eyes* Duuuh.
RE: Name...
# Nov 15 2002 at 11:06 AM Rating: Decent
God I'm tired of comparing everything Verant does to other fantasy realms out there. Yes, Verant has been guilty of it in the past, but this is not the case. Unless you can prove Terry Goodkind has a patent on the name "War Wizard" I think it just chalks up to Verant using a common fantasy genre term..."Battle Mage" comes to mind as another one.

Good god people. Everyone is so ready to jump all over a poster and mark their posts down...

Incase your reading comprehension is less than stellar I'll spell it out nice and easy like:

I WAS SAYING THAT IT WAS A GOOD NAME FOR THE ITEM.

Yes VI borrows archetypes and generic fantasy consructs from everywhere, but so does every other game and book, that wasn't the point. I didn't say Goodkind made the term up or that he owns it. I was merely pointing out a well read series in which that term is used in a manner that is comparable to what it means in regards to this item. If that deserves a 1 rating then I quit wasting my time posting here.
