There is a bard aa that can increase the runspeed over 256%. Btw, root is 0% runspeed. Meaning that unmoded runspeed is 100%. So max bard speed without the aa is 256% not 156%. Then again, I guess root has to be 1% if the highest is 256%. I think they used a char[256] value back when eq began to save memory. With char you gotta either count 0 or not count it. Meaning the value is either 255 or 256.

The way this chart is set up, +156% runspeed is the same as 256%.
i.e. 100% reg runspeed + 156% additional runspeed = 256% total runspeed

I've had an emp horse for ages, and recently I bought holy steed on an alt and was pretty disapointed that it didn't feel any faster than what I was used to.

I noticed just recently by looking at the data on lucy that both the knight horses and the emp/seru horses actually summon the same horse.

if you look on lucy, every summon horse spell is broken down as:

SumHorse(colour)(speed)

For colour, it will list either Wh Bl Ta Br, and for speed it will list either "Slow1" (rope bridle) "Slow2" (leather bridle) "Run1" (silk bridle) "Run2" (chain bridle) or "Fast" (ornate chain).

Summon Holy Steed and the emp horse both say SumHorseWhFast. Summon Death Charger (which is the true name for the unholy steed ability) and the seru horse both say SumHorseBLFast. This leads me to believe that they are infact the exact same horses.

further evidence comes from a comment made by Zajeer-Dev on the PoR beta forum:

Horse speeds aren't going up at all, for a good long time. I don't want players to have horses faster than the knight mounts. I also don't want horse speeds approaching selo speed, since I'm sure bards won't appreciate that. I've added a new raid mount to the expansion for the high end folks, but it's the same speed as the Seru and Emperor mount.

Notice he says he doesn't want players to get horses faster than the knight horses. To me that implies the emp/seru ones are infact the same speed as the knight horses and that there is now way to make a faster raid mount without becoming faster than holy/unholy steed.

The new raid mount he speaks of is listed as "Summon Ghostrider" on lucy and summons the horse "SumHorseTaFast". As of the time of this post this new mount has yet to be discovered. By looking at this data I can say that the new horse will be tan, and equal speed to emp/seru/knight AA's.

Slower Actually

This horse is slower then Pally/SK AA horses. I raced two SK's and a pally in a 3 lap race around the Pok Library area with the bank being the finish. They gradually an steadily pulled away, when the first sk finish at the bank, I was at the Tradeskill area near the exit to the nex stone. I race every pally/sk that I can find and I've yet to beat any of them. They are just a hair faster. /sigh

Aye, the full speed is actually about 5% slower, on average than Bard speed, but it's still not bad, lets you med faster while still fighting, AND works as a junk buff.

the one big advantage a bard has over the pally/sk horse is start up speed.. my bard has at 30 drum mod i think with aa's to increase that i race my pally bud all the time on his horse just for fun.. the horse take a bit to get up to full speed with bard its all out from the get go.. just my 2cp's

I would love to have this bad boy or his twin from Seru but chances are I would be rally lucky to see either one of the MoB's... :(

First I am a firm beliver if it is an All/All item that is who should get it... But pally's and SK's if either class tries to win this that is damn unfair of them.... Seing as how they get a "vitually" free horse from AA's, that is the same as these.
RE: NICE
# Jun 29 2004 at 2:46 AM Rating: Default
Well being a lvl 37 sk i say it not to cheep that we get a free horse becaus we are hybrids and have mana. Horses are mainly for casters to med and move. The reason i think we get it the fastest horse in the game is becaus we have mana and melee (even tho melee sux form atop a horse) and all hybrids have a speed ability. Ranger get sow and wolf form, Beast lords get sow, Sk/pally horse, and bards get selo. So its generaly a hybrid thing in my opinion. I do still await the day i complet my AA for me horse.

I believe the reason SKs and Pallys get horses is a more Role Play based concept, both are heavy knight classes who use Shield and Sword tactics as well as two handed weapons, much like the calvary of old. That's just my take on it, eh.

"Not like I'd know, but it seems to me that by the time you're even elligible to get one of these (read: you're in a guild that can kill ssra or seru) you don't "win" them, a la /random, you use DKP or whatever."

My guild can kill Seru and we don't use DKP. We don't random them either. We see who, out of the classes than can use it, can get the best use

I have the 100k drogmor on my necro and its a beuatifial thing :P. Just in general the hp/mana regen is very nice and its great because alot of our high aggro stuff can be cast, because we arent considered sitting while mounted

RE: VROOM!!
# Oct 13 2003 at 4:46 PM Rating: Decent
My lvl 53 bard beat this horse, but just barely twice in a row (races across WK, zone to zone). I was however using the second best drum in the game, TDoK. It's the same speed as the Pally Holy steed/SK Unholy steed.
sellable
# Aug 04 2003 at 6:16 AM Rating: Good
Hmm.... be strange if this was sellable... first no drop piece of loot I have ever heard of that a merchant would buy but those horse merchants are a strange bunch. But more to the point. Who in their right mind would sell this wonderful item? I would happly sell my old nag Gluepot and keep this fabulous steed. Anyone that sells it should be slapped upside the head.

Selling of steeds takes the form of a quest, so they are sellable. AFA who would sell this? I'd go w/ someone who already has one... or a pally/sk who gets one. I agree that either of these scenarios are unpleasant to think of when my wizzy takes about 20 minutes to cross NK; but I'm sure it'll happen at some point.

Can this horse be sold (traded rather) to the vendors in the Bazaar? If so, how much is the resulting 'bag of platinum' worth?

If it were sellable for a crazy ammount of money, it would probably be in a guilds best interest to loot this, sell it and buy every caster a cheap horse. Having all casters (healers, nukers etc) getting sitting mana regen and avoiding sitting aggro will save raids many times over.

Hmm, I seriously doubt any guild that can do this would have casters who cannot afford a cheap horse. Most of the casters in my guild have a horse/drogmor of some type, and we'd wipe fast trying to kill this guy.
RE: Value
# Aug 03 2003 at 10:18 AM Rating: Default
Was told this is the 90k (roughly) horse, and can be sold back for something around 50k+ (roughly) so yes it can be sold back.
RE: Value
# Aug 20 2003 at 12:28 PM Rating: Good
Nope, you're wrong.

90k horse is the Chain Bridle, it can be obtained in bazaar.
This is ORNATE Chain bridle, which drops off Emperor and its faster than the one you can buy off bazaar for 90k.

So I doubt you can sell it. I believe you can only sell normal horses acquired in bazaar.

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 14 2002 at 12:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The difficulty between Ssraeshza and Seru are terrible though. It's much tougher to farm the ingredients for the weapons to kill Seru, since who would melee him would need a blacksmithy skill of 225+ compared to the weapons to farm for Ssraeshza which are trivial at 1. That and I beleive that Seru must be one of top five mobs out there in difficulty to kill whereas Ssraeshza is prolly in the top ten. Someday I will see a battle royale between all the godly mobs out there and find out who'd be crowned king of de world!

This and the Black one from Seru are faster than the horses that can be bought and appear to be the same speed as the ones purchased by Paladin or Shadow Knight with 6 AA points at 59th Level.
