This is the type of item for someone who solos or lacks a raid guild. Yes there is many better bp out there but many bards I know swarm kite, why? Go to EQDiva if you really want to know. Personally the avg raid is not much fun for a bard, few players understand our potential so we generally sit around playing aoe resists or aoe mana/hp and even then there's still some jerk wondering why we aren't singing who's too lazy to open up the song window. Vindi BP, Void BP, Eradication these all leave this in the dust, but most guild don't generally give those out to bard characters. Just because you don't like something does not mean it shouldn't exist, cheers.

Nice for a Bard..

I'll tell you what, I am a 55 Bard, and I just bought one of these for 20k. As far as I am concerned it's better than my Singing Steel and about 15k cheaper! Sure the SS has the 100pt self heal, but what the hell is 100 hp anymore, maybe half of one hit?

I can understand warriors and real tanks turning this down, but this is a very very nice option for agnostic bardies such as myself

These days the singing steel bp is outmoded for the 62+ bard. The Chorus and Wind of Marr spells regenerate beyond 70 hp a tick with a decent lute and around 50 hp a tick for the epic/item with string mod bard, plus regen lasts 3 ticks. Top it off those songs have a 3 sec casting time.

Being a GM smith, this BP's stats are currently rather depressing to me considering what it takes to make it. It takes 6 tempers just for one attempt, while a shot a chain tunic takes 3. And the stats for the classes that can wear the chain is very nice. The dex on this should be str and the agi sta, and the AC should be better than the newer cultural armor. Warriors would instantly pass on this over the older smithed armor, as it has more AC and gives sta. If I were to buy all the componenets to make this and not hunt them down myself, one attempt would run around 12k.

It is a total pain to make this newer armor unless you are in a top tier guild, and if you are in a top tier guild you wouldnt bother making any of it for guildmates / yourself because you have better already unless you are a new member.

granted there are worse bps out there, and there are better ones, but taking into account the fact that its not even trivial at a 250 skill (meaning peeps who can make are going to charge out the **** for it) and a reqired level of 46, IMHO its better to save 10 to 30k depending on price, and go with your class kunark bp.

my bp for instance is the BloodEmber bp... averages 30 to 40k now i hear, with ac 40 str+12 sta+8 agi+8 dex+8.... granted BE has 5ac less and a little less dex, but when i right click it i get major shielding, boosting my hp ac and mr way beyond the differenc that the night terror would give.

i doubt a pally would want this more than a DW bp either, and i know a cleric or war would take donals or cobalt over this any day.
What I dont understand
# Nov 20 2002 at 9:31 PM Rating: Decent
I dont really see any reason for this to be recommended to level 61, I can understand its only for people with PoP but for only 45 ac and not even that great of stats...

totaly agree. very!few! ppl would even consider this for use at 61+. the only ppl i see useing these +61 crafted items are ppl who have no guild and cant seem to buy the good stuff. lol who would even buy this stuff! well maybe to show off.

REQUIRED 46.

Recommended 61.

Doesn't mean a 61 will wear this, but not everyone will have Skyshrine armor etc.

This is only first tier smithed armor anyway.

The Night Terror chain tunic was an upgrade for a 60+ ranger guild mate.

Get off your high horses and remember not everyone can get the snazzy loot you may have.

iksars

This is a huge boon to the iksars whose cultural smithed bp is like 35ac.

I know I wouldnt mind this if i was an ikky warrior/sk

It's nice that players can use trade skills to make equipment that's *better* than planar loot, god loot, and dragon loot. Smiley: smile

Now, which is easier? Making this breastplate... or... killing Trakanon a few times? Decisions, decisions...

Oh, thats an easy question - it is FAR easier to kill trakanon a few times. check out http://www.eqtraders.com for all the details on tradeskills

this is very true... spending 30k trying to get your smithing skills up to 250+ and then taking into account all the time u spend getting the skill up, and then hunting down all the stuff to make everything... its a huge pain in the ***... trust me im still only at 180 in skill at smithing and im dreading getting to 200... stupid trivials... verant could have done so much better at that then they did.. but now they screwed it all up... idiots!!!
