Confirmed Drop
# Nov 09 2002 at 10:58 PM Rating: Good
This drops of Grummus, the overly fat guardian and keeper of flag for Crypt of Decay. Very difficult mob, took a full raid of 60 to kill him and that was not without a few wipes. His 2 AoE are killer and heal aggro and low health aggro is outrageous. Anyway hope that helps, sorry no skeeters for this bad boy.

How many is a "full raid"?. i was sitting on the balcony with a group the other day picking off the guards on the stairs (in both directions) and this fellow was on a pattern from the bottom of the crypt steps to the door of the crypt(at least i think its a crypt*shrug*) anyway i cast eye of talion and peeked about but was unable to open the door with it and only realy accomplished getting a very close look at this fellow. he is exeptionaly ugly, a fine eye will see that much time was spent getting the flab of his belly to over hang his loin cloth just so...
anyway you can see his skull through the left side of his face so i presume he is undead, just wondering doable numbers for takeing him out.
thankee muchos

We did him last night with 24 (including bots). Average level 64.

The way i read it he saids a full raid of 60...so unless he ment lvl 60s it was a referance to the total number of people at the raid

I imagine he means 12 groups of 6 as per the raid tool... in which case 72 people would constitute a 'full raid'.

That is Gryme, the Crypt Guardian.

Grummus is further in, Gryme's much nastier Twin Brother.
Named Focus
# Nov 07 2002 at 2:09 PM Rating: Decent
Hey, I've been wondering. Do Focus effects with specific names stack with the mundane effects? IE. Is Mana Preservation4 triggered at the same time this triggers?
RE: Named Focus
# Nov 08 2002 at 1:08 PM Rating: Decent
I dont bealive so back when focus items were first relase there was a comment from a delevoper saying that multiple focus items will not stack for the same attribute (haste mana duration) but you will use the best one you have ie Efficency over peservation when applicable.

well bah, im gonna guess that this does indeed drop off those lvl 59-60 4 static skeeters in PoD unless someone knows diff. Ive killed a few but seen no drops yet. this would be a rare drop im sure so just gotta camp em a bit.

Nice earring, kinda burly mob.

Well, it might drop off Malarians, though of all the ones I've killed I've gotten just tainted essence off them... Big old skeeter dudes that hang around in static spawns near the river mouth in PoD. Levels 59-60 and hit for a ton (mid 400s) and are completely dot happy (I counted 5 dots on me at once). They also seem to have a lifetap type spell that hits for upwards of 750.

what does it drop of ? any usefull info ?
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 06 2002 at 7:09 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I would like this for several of my chars it would be nice to have. This would be nice for my necro and then i can't even count the ways this would be good for a cleric.
Pls :)

RE: Pls :)

Bah Affliction Efficeny is way better anyway cuts mana cost by 25% on detremntial spells (unless this includes nukes) This is a poor mans Affliction efficency/mana peservation.

Pre-PoP Afflcition efficcency 3 was hard to get was 4 items with it. Old ring from seb (doenst drop anymore) 2 pairs of boots from ToV and a sucky amulet from the last Rhag.

I know Grussus drops a decent shield with Affliction efficency 4 on it.

I'm guessing that this earring may be a lil more common and thats why the repeated/less useful focus effect

Crap! So it's essentially Mana Preservation IV, but only on Detrimental Spells (which is where ya need it if you're not a Cleric or Shaman). NICE.
RE: Pls :)
# Nov 06 2002 at 8:16 PM Rating: Decent
Except for when we buff (which is about 5 percent of our casting usually) Shaman are ALL detrimental spells.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 06 2002 at 9:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Heh, you have seriously misconstrued the uses of a shaman in groups and raids. I save dmg only for when I solo or pvp for the most part unless Im grouped with a cleric. Then ya throw in a dot here and there but "mainly" it is buffs/slows/debuffs.

"Then ya throw in a dot here and there but "mainly" it is buffs/slows/debuffs."
slows and debuffs are detrimental ;)
RE: Pls :)
# Nov 06 2002 at 11:48 PM Rating: Decent
Slow and debuffs are not only detrimental to the mob.. but often to the shammy if he is trigger happy :)

This is the effect on the earring summoned by the
lvl 61 magician spell "Summon Glowing Bauble"

Jolum's Superior Abatement
Slot Description
1: Decrease Spell Mana Cost by 15%
2: Limit: Max Level(65)
3: Limit: Spell Type(Detrimental only)
4: Limit: Effect(Hitpoints allowed)

so you see the effect on this earring isn't the best, however the stats do make it quite nice.

but i'd still proably swap it out with my glowing bauble when i need to save the most mana ;)
