I found this to be a very frustrating camp. And if I never see the inside of Befallen again, I won’t complain. *grins* I spent about five hours there one evening and only got place holders. I checked back numerous times over the next several days, again with no luck. Then I tried spending another evening there. But I had to leave for a short time to do a transfer. And, you guessed it, the mummy spawned while I was gone and someone else killed it.

I had hoped that lady who killed it might just give me the ring, since it would do her no good if she didn’t want to do the quest. I didn’t realize there was a market for it. She wanted me to buy it from her, which I didn’t want to do. I was determined to do this quest myself, with out paying for it. Otherwise I would have simply bought the Paw itself. I thanked her but said I’d simply start camping again. She must have felt sorry for me, because she gave it to me in return for buffing her and her partner. I still wish I had killed that elusive mummy myself, but after camping it that long I was just glad to get the ring.

Now that I have my Paw, I may have to return to Guk and see if I can convince the Ancient Crocodile to give up his pants.

I can find no reasoning to how often Gynok Spawns. One night I camped him for 13 straight hours and he didn't even pop. 3 days later I try again and he is the 3rd place holder I kill with the plat ring. Though.. durring my 13 hour streach I did encounter a few Dread Corpse Skellies who are not even listed in the Befalen Beastiary. Maybe there the true Place holder for Gynok and how ever many of those spawn indicate when Gynok will spawn next.

I lucked out on this one. I had to kill him two times and both times he popped right after I killed the PH. First time he dropped the copper ring (last Sun) and the next time he dropped the platinum. This was a WAY easier item to get than the page for the Testement of Venear. One gold ring and the Paw will be MINE! ;)

thank goodness for gynok! It was great getting buffs from all the higher-ups waiting for him to spawn! It made handling trains much easier for a 10-16 SK at the gate LOL! Nothing like having regenerate and shield of thorns to take on the entire 2nd floor LOL!!!

I just saw Gynok lying on the ground and I looted it. Then I told my friend about it who is a cleric and very knowlegable about things in EQ, and he asked me to give it to him; because it is for a cleric quest. So I did. Damn that was a mistake. I was very new at the time...
