got it today with an EP - yes etheral parchment from pathfinder Viliken. Very weird to get a 63 spell (guess its because of the druid one being 61..)

Just got "Earthen Roots" today. Tried it on some low lvl mobs and here's what I've found:
Mana: 150
Cast time: 1.8 Seconds
Direct Damage: None
Duration: Exactly 1 minute
So, why is this an upgrade to our LvL 56 "Engorging Roots" which only requires 75 mana for up to 3 minutes and about 180 points of DD damage?
The answer may be in the duration. Engorging Roots may last up to 3 minutes but in Planes Of Power it mostly wears off in a few seconds on higher mobs. Earthen roots may keep that nice fixed 1 minute duration on higher mobs. I've yet to test this but if true it will be a super upgrade for taking advantage of what tiny amount non-summoning Root-DOT soloing that can be found in PoP.
Tomorrow I'll go a round or two with those nice Blood Ravens in Plane of Nightmares. Here's hoping...

It's better because it does no damage - so it won't break mez and it won't cause summoning mobs to summon you. Not the spell of choice for soloing, but a very useful grouping tool. I also think it gets resisted a little less though that's hard to be sure about.
