Our DKP system sets fixed values on items, and the person with the highest current DKP wins. If someone who has no dkp is highest, they win, and dip into negative DKP. And yes, even a person who is already negative can go in on an item, but they will only win if the item is nearing the rot stage.
RE: dkp
# Jul 29 2005 at 8:21 AM Rating: Default
That is a rather good method. It's a shame to let something rot simply because somebody doesn't have enough positive DKP for it.

In my guild we will do an auction using DKP as currency, if nobody else but you, say, is bidding on an item, you automatically win because you have no competition.

Strict DKP spending though tends to lend itself to errorful ways. Most guilds have means of counteracting this though, luckily.

Apparenlty you have never gone on an open raid. You can't have points when you never know if the same people are going to show up or not. Personally, after failing MB 13 times Im about to give up on open raids and hope my guild will do some back flagging and hit him for those of us that need it:)

sadly i lost the roll on the wonderful weap tonite. But not all things are lost, my good buddy/guildy won it, so i'm 50/50 happy and Hopefully next time..

Just do as we do in our guild .. If you need it, Roll for it. If you lose role then go to the next raid on that mob. Means 1 less for compatition. If both classes can use allow both classes a chance to obtain. Remeber Rewards are not from looting mobs but from the experiance of actually killing the mob. =)

Personnaly i think that random raid loots can kill a guild. Thats what i think. Not all may agree.

Take a exemple. You playing a monk and assist your guild on all raids. After 5 kills of that mob you always unlucky on random. Means you never got that great Hand to hand item. So you see this nice weapon pass down to part time player while you always help your guild.

No one made me change my mind on randoming raid loot and i dont think anyone will.
RE: Blah
# Dec 26 2003 at 1:54 PM Rating: Decent
Abroghan, most guilds use a point basis, based on your raid turnout, then if no one bids any points, it goes on full random.
RE: Blah
# Apr 27 2004 at 2:01 PM Rating: Good
Our guild destroys items that are not bid on. This difficult decision was made because it was decided that to award items without assigning RPPs to them would in effect invalidate the whole idea of RPPs in the first place. Raid Participation Points really keep track of how well you have suppported your guild; getting an item for "free" basically means that you aren't willing to recognize the guild effort that went into retrieving the item in the first place.

Our only exception to this policy is that we let non-esssential raid "guests" (blackflags, usually) roll for items that are going to rot, or (sometimes) random folks in the zone where access to the drop is possible.

New effect is like it says a random dd from 50 to 100 I think its unresistable but I want stunning blow back so I can own stunable mobs. No but seriously why was effect changed were people complaining about proc not landing on upper level stuff or was the effect to good on stunnable mobs?

well if your guild is good enough to get this weapon you hardly do old world stuff, so the prob was virtually every mob this is used on was immune to the stun effects... so it was kinda useless.. the war strike is indeed unresistable and is thus much more usefull than the stunning blow effect.

Hmm, if this is true, then why is it, that every time my guild tries to get one ofthe kunark dragons (Severilous, Gorenaire, Woushi, etc.) we end up racing against people from time flagged guilds for first aggro?
RE: effect changed
# May 19 2004 at 11:17 PM Rating: Decent
becuase those people from time flagged guilds are doing it with 1 grp or less =p. Anyway, his point is valid because those are just a few people from the guild, not the guild itself that are raiding the kunark dragons.
RE: effect changed
# Sep 12 2003 at 10:25 AM Rating: Good
Hmmm, well the Stun was all but useless on 95% of POP Mobs since they cant be stunned.

For the lower lvl Mobs that could be stunned, what dif did it really make anyway? since you could kill them so quickly.

and having an "UNresistable" Proc is nice even if it is random 50-100DD since EVERYTIME it procs on EVERY Mob regardless of Mob resist it sticks.

That is WAY better than some all but useless stun that did nothing but cause aggro.

I also crit this proc quite often for between 100-200DD and its never resisted on any Mob. which means no partial resist either always hits for no less than 50 on any Mob so no less than a 100DD crit also, thats not bad.

So tired of reading posts on who gets this. Ill tell you who a MONK or BST. End game weapons have wis and manna on them pure and simple so those stats are obsolete when discussing. Recommended lvl of 61 dont think a 61bst is going to be hurting for a few wis. BST or also capped in some melle where monks are not great item for either class. Just my 2cents.
# Sep 30 2003 at 8:45 AM Rating: Default
True enough "neither" should be considered over the other, its just as good a weapon for Beast as is it is Monk.
Although a slight edge going to the Beast since H2H is usually their best option, at least until higher lvl and if they can get their Atk up over 1800 or so.
Then 2HB is also just as viable.

and id have to say that yes ANY lvl Beast is usually hurting for a few Wis unless he/she made the mistake of thinking that they are a pure caster and ALL of their gear choices have been based on Wis 1st.
Most Beast are going for Melee stats Hp/AC/Agi.
So most Beast will be lucky to have 200 Wis.
So +Wis & mana for a Beast is far from obsolete and these fist are a Beastlords dream come true it has good AC, very good HPs, Wis+Mana and great Agi and really good resist, then top it off with they hit Hard and fast with an unresistable proc.
What more could a Beast ask for?

This is also like about the 2nd or 3rd best weapon in the game for a Beastlord, and it IS THE Best weapon for Beast not in the Elemental Planes.

This could very well be the best weapon 70% of all Beast ever even have a chance to get.

BST or also capped in some melle where monks are not

Yeah well that "some" doesnt include H2H its the only weapon skill a Beast has 250 in

So like... the person with more DKP gets the item, if your guild doesnt have a DKP system dont wory cuz you wont be getting this far.
Im a Beastlord and ive seen 3 of these drop 3 monks with more DKP than me got it, and like, im not ********* When one drops and I have the DKP for it Ill equip it and everyone will cheer for me. Thats what a guild does. ^_^
For everyone who is flameing each other over classes like stop and go get some xp, aa, dkp whatever. Your not going to change the other persons opinon on the subject so like... stop trying

Well my guild does'nt have a DKP system and we are in the elementals.

Any guild with 50+ members can "get this far"
TZ is fairly easy.

Im fairly sure that all of our Beastlords were awarded these before any of the Monks, not to mention i dont think most of the Monks really desired these fist all that much anyway.
The proc creates ALOT of aggro, and there are many 2HB weapons far better for Monks.

Pretty much. I love playing a monk, quite frankly, its nice to have a pair of 1hb/hand2hand weapons, but at the high end game, 2hb is much better since we get 3 hits ( with AA points) with 2hb. So the dmg is better and less aggro.
Also, Stunning blow is a nasty aggro proc.
At Tier 2, warriors can have a hard time keeping aggro, why would I take something that procs stun, when most Shadowknights use chain stunning to keep aggro?

Monks at the high level has some good hp (with good Sta and hp items, but can't tank at all. the HP are there to ensure we can live long enough to get an FD off (if we do get aggro).
An lets face it, tanks usually have more ac and hp anyway.

Just thought i would post that monks at level 60 are granted a Triple Attack Bonus.. With AA we can do up to 4 Hits with a 2hb..
# May 25 2004 at 10:38 PM Rating: Decent
This is wrong. Starting at level 51, we are granted a small chance to score a triple attack with a 2HB when we double...I suppose it's about 20% to start...never parsed it. Punishing Blade AA's don't give us a chance for a fourth, it increases our chance for a triple.

And I know this was posted far before GoD, but now with Rapid Strikes, we can score five hits in a round 2HB, six DW.

BST does in fact put out a ton of DPS, and can out dmg a warrior or monk, with pet. Key here is with pet, which is what the guy above was trying to state I believe. If you alone (no pet) are doing more damage than a monk of the same level, I'm afraid that monk is clearly extremely gimp. Having said that, I'd pass on this item till our BST's had it due to fact your class can use every stat on it.

You tanking (may I ask why, by the way) would have nothing to do with your dps... your melee dps is at the bard level, the pet does the majority of the DPS... so whether you are hitting from the front or the back would make little difference.

Beastlords don't deserve an item because they can use it better than a straight melee... your personal dps is very low by comparison, but rather becasue just like the monk, you have put in raid time.

your saddly mistaken Madalene.

My pet does between 55-75DPS.

I do roughly 70-110DPS with JUST my weapons. so i almost do 2X my pets DPS

Spells depending on what i can and can not use depending on resist or if i want aggro does up to another 40+DPS.

And what i can do with Melee only is basically a moot point since very VERY rarely am I ever without my pet or not able to use at least some spell damage let alone both at same time.
My pet is part of my chars DPS just like Kicks are for a Monk.

Most Bards ive seen do somewhere around 40-50DPS i think in Melee.

Dunno bout Catpurr, but as for ME Tanking i tank just fine in "Exp Groups" actually in most cases i tank BETTER than Warriors, i can slow the mob 65% myself, debuff it, do more DPS, get and hold aggro better than ANY warrior, and even though i have on average about 2-3K less hps than a fully decked out Warrior i dont get hurt all that much more and really Healers use LESS mana to heal me since they dont need to use their best heal.
If you only need 1-2 heals it doesnt matter whatsoever if you have 6kHps or 9Khps...1-2 heals is 1-2 heals, dif is with me they can use a lesser heal using less mana for same CH.

Ive tanked lvl 68 Mobs in HOH many times with no problems at all.
Ive tanked Xamanmech in POI which hits for 1400hps and was only being healed by a lvl 54 Cleric/59 Shaman/65 Druid, and i dont have /Disc that last for 3 mins

Ive gotten and held aggro in a group with 2 lvl 65 wizzys and 2 lvl 65 Rogues while all 4 were TRYING as hard as they could to get aggro and couldnt do it.
I doubt any warrior could say the same.

Beastlords make excellent "exp group" tanks, and very good Raid Off Tanks on Mobs that arent mezzable.

And yes Tanking does have something to do with your DPS, it "drops" your DPS considerably since your getting resposte/dodge/blocks etc..

What weapons are you using? The most I've ever parsed a beastlord doing was about 30 DPS. The pets are usually around 60 dps.

I have a 65 monk, but he only has 32 AA's. Using battle fists and a waning light katar, the most I've seen my dps was about 85 or so.

Last night I was on a raid in HoHb with a 65 monk with over 400 AA's - using a rune etched bambo bo, and he was only getting 98 dps.
RE: Beastlord damage ...HAHA

I think you are right. I must have something messed up with my parsing program. That monk with the REBB said he usualy parses his DPS at over 200 and I was getting him at below 100. This is actually kind of a relief. I was starting to wonder why my DPS was so gimp.
RE: Beastlord damage ...HAHA
# Sep 30 2003 at 3:56 PM Rating: Good
Hmm the "most" you have ever parsed a lvl 65 Beast is 30DPS? on just his Melee.

Well all i can say to that is it clearly shows your parsing is way off for whatever reason.
I cant believe you actually think a Beast would only do a MAX of 30DPS with their Melee.

IF that were even remotely close then no beastlord of any lvl or weapon would ever do more than an absolute max of maybe 130DPS(counting pet+spells+Melee) with the best weapon in game and 400AAs and crits out the ying yang

Ive never checked but i bet i would do more than 30DPS with my bare fist not even using a weapon.

I switch between either my 2HB (GotF) or my H2H combo (BF+SPF)they both vary quite a bit depending on Mob and could be anywhere between as low as maybe 50 to as high as 110+ if i got alot of crits/procs.
I currently have 226AAs & raid buffed usually well over 2000Atk
Id say on your average Mob especially if im not Tanking im easily averaging 90+DPS with either set of weapons.

Now if Im Tanking that will drop considerably because im casting several non damaging spells(slow, incapacitate,FOL) which put out zero DPS plus slow my atk for alot less hits to make sure i have solid aggro.

Ive seen parses of very well equiped Beast doing well in excess of 240+ DPS.
We all know the Pet is pretty steady 60-65DPS
Spells are between 0 to maybe up to 60DPS with no resist and some decent crits.
That leaves the rest to Melee so well over 100DPS.

Hell ive even had some nice parses one in particular i remember was a Giant in south BOT i was not tanking and did 224DPS.
Ive had several parses over 200DPS many times.

going on your parses/assumptions Beast would be BY FAR the worst DPS class in the game.

BTW ive seen a lvl 65 Monk parse over 200DPS with a REBB.
Id suggest getting a new parse program or check it to make sure you have it set right & getting all the log info needed.

RE: Beastlord damage ...HAHA
# Jun 17 2003 at 10:29 AM Rating: Decent
yeah, right...
Number 1 gay buff...MGB extended Paragon= 640mana+1600HP heal in 48secs....have 3 Beastlords in raid hitting Paragon back to back on a 50 person raid and you have approx 240,000Hps Healed and 96,000Mana given to ALL in 144 secs...DOH..

Number 2..."Uber Mobs" usually will have higher AC also, which brings down a Monks DPS just as much as anyone elses, and actually on the high end Mobs like that then freaking Enchanters outdamage everybody if DC pets are available

Number 3...Monks usually drop dead to those nasty AE spells faster than My pet does which BTW raid buffed has about 7,000HPs and if i throw just one heal on him is same as if he had 9500HPs DOH...
and my pet is hardly useless he puts out a good 60+DPS against most any Mob id have him up for, which is ANY mob "other" than the few mobs that spawn another Mob for every dead player & pet, those are the ones you dont use pets on...such as Rallos sure...assuming the Monkey Lives long enough he could possibly outdamage a Beast on a Mob such as Rallos Zek...whoop
Course on the other 1000 Mobs that dont summon a bunch of adds from each dead PC/pet...Beast will 9x outa 10 do easily as much damage if not more...
PLUS buff, and Heal, and give mana...

Number 3...Yes im fully aware that 2HB is better for a Monk than a Beast, which is exactly why Beast should have first chance at nice H2H weapons.

and yes Monks have a "chance" at triple attk...

and i still havent grouped with a Monk yet that outdamages me overall...

and if you think some lil MonkE BoyE is going to be whailing away full damage and unscaithed agaisnt Rallos Zek, your lucky to survive the first 30 secs to 1 min agaisnt the 1000+HP AE rampage & AE DOT.....Clerics and other healers will be keying on the Tanks for healing.....Once that DOT sticks and you get hit by AE rampage your on your way to the GY...with that "Caen Bo or Fiery Staff" clinched in your cold dead hands, which of course just added another Mob to the fray....

So your "High end" game anology of Monk vs Beast is flawed at best, and neither is any better than the other, and both take a backseat to that Ranger way back away from everything stinging his **** with Arrows, or that Wizard that just cracked him for 6K, etc....

Is there a Mob here and there that a good Monk with a killer 2HB can outdamage a Beast on?
Of course.....they are few and far between though.

Not to mention if the Beast has a couple good H2H weapons plus his DPS AAs such as Ambi/BF/FOS/DR/Flash of Steel etc....
Fully "raid" buffed im hitting over 2000ATK with 99% Haste....
Only way a Monk has a prayer to outdamage me is if he also has 2000+Atk...

lol Amoxacilla you really dont have a clue do you? im in one of the best guilds on my server, and the warriors are all well geared, with that said, I have higher dps WITHOUT PET or Spells then all the warriors I've matched my dps with, I average about 10 more dps then them. (Poor warriors)

Now add a pet in there, dots and dd's and im doing VERY EASILY 2x the damage of a warrior.

In PoV a few weeks back we had myself and another 65 bst on a mob, and 2 warriors on a different mob of the same type. Team bst killed ours while the warriors had theirs down to 65%

Warriors are tanks, NOT dps...if you dont think bsts are dps maybe you should learn to parse damage. On raids the dps goes like this
Rangers > Rogues > Bsts ....and rogues BARELY have me on dps, with a slight upgrade in weapons i might pass them....course i put savegry on them, and not myself too lol...hmmm

I have a 65 Beasty with 226 AA.. mostly defensive/offensive AA's and use the Ssra Fangs and Hand of Honor. I parse myself between 70-95 dps ALONE.. No spells.. no pet. Just doing simple Solro mobs in group I am on par with a warrior who puts out a consistent 90-110 dps. When I go all out with pet fero'd I easily bust 250+ dps and have seen as high as 300+. To the chagrin of the ranger and rogue in group my beast is WAY more consistent since the rogue (who triple backstabs BTW) is consistent 140-160 and can bust 250+ when he uses duelist. The rangah.. bless his heart is stuck sucking third tit hitting 190-230. Both cant touch me in consistency when I can (with pet and spells) be CONSISTENT with a 160-200 DPS. Every single fight. Whereas the rangah and the rogue have to wait for their disciples to repop before they can touch that.

I think the person who said that on the scale of best to worse DPS between the three said rangers where first, rogues second and beastys last is completely backwards. By my experience Ive always outdamaged (and sometimes out aggroed) EVERYONE in any group Im in, and the rogue comes in a close second (without poisons mind you but applying poison will take away from DPS while he sits and applies).

As for the Monk vs Beasty brawl. Let them duel for it :) ROFL Just kidding... but IMHO point systems in our guilds way and I agree with the person who stated that /ran on drops can really cause a lot of tension. If you have the points.. bid.. let winner be winner.

Would be nice to look at an item for ONCE and not have 30,000 posts about "this class should always get it" etc etc...

Guys, it's listed monk/beastlord for a reason. If you're a beastlord and a monk gets it over you, deal. If you're a monk and a beastlord gets it over you, deal.

As for the argument "this has wis and mana, which are useless to monks" well, take a look, so does every other PoP monk/bst weapon pretty much. That mean they should all go to bsts?

It's convenient when your class uses almost every stat possible to say that your class should get it because they'd use all the stats.

Quit the moronic arguments. It's good for anyone who can use it, as is the case with any drop. If someone bids on it, they obviously want it. So what if they can't use the +cha on it and you could. So what if the +ac would be more of an upgrade for you.

Show up to the next kill and bid again when it drops, and maybe try to be happy that someone got a nice upgrade. The game community has degenerated to a pack of ravening wolves, for a large part. Gone are the days where guilds were "communities" or "friends" instead of tools to help you get the phat lewtz you want.

Erm, sorry, tangent... just seems from my in-game and board-reading experiences that people lack any sense of community anymore. Again, on average. Of course there's exceptions.

uh huh..
this is listed as War/ran/Rogue/Bard..

Thats for a "reason" i guess...Like maybe a ROGUE not being present....

So in general i guess you think this should go to the highest bidder?...
Guess it kinda depends on your guild....

Personally mine wouldnt even think of this going to anyone BUT THE ROGUE..

Same goes for H2H weapons for a Beastlord...
H2H is the ONLY weapon skill a Beastlord maxes on, just like a Rogue's ONLY weapon skill they max on is Piercing....

Monk maxes on 1Hb/2HB/H2H equally....and there are several 2HB weapons that are a better choice for a monk AND easier to get...

So just like a Rogue having first crack at nice piercers, Beast "should" have first crack at nice H2H weapons, as Monks should have first crack at 2Hb...
Its nothing elitest about it...just basic facts.
As a monk I know exactly what BL's need

Theese go to a monk first cause monks have better combat stats. BL's should be happy with their noob weapon, and a cracked staff.

/sarcasm off

Do BST upgrading thier gear not matter as much as monk upgrades? or vice versa?
BST vs monk whining

I think it benifits both classes so stfu about who its better for.....the case in point is that it is indeed AN UPGRADE for either class. So why should one class get it before the other if the other has more points and or is awarded the item based on higher raid attendance?

Oh and to the monk who prefer's Gharn's in his off hand. I have a feeling you'll do more damage with this baby you in your secondary slot, but to each his own...

It doesn't matter who it's the best for. It's so lame the way everyone on these boards tries to argue who items are best for. Yes I think everyone including beastlords can agree that a monk will do more damage with this weapon than a beastlord. However that doesn't matter. If you are in a guild that can actually kill TZ items are awarded usually either by a point or officer award system. It doesn't matter who the item is "best" for. For example if the beastlord had twice the raid attendance of the monk he would get the weapon, even if the monk would do more damage with it. So quit arguing over who should get it if you have no chance of ever getting it :p
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 16 2002 at 9:57 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well thats pretty much true....although all points and such being equal the beastlord should technically get first crack at it...

I'm not going to take isssue with your "beastlords should get this argument" because I don't really care one way or another. ANy guild that could even come close to entering this zone will have rules on loot distribution, and any thoughts from us lower life forms is moot.

How ever "Monks can do a bit more damage with it" I think a bit is a seriour underestimate. Monks have a better damage table than any other class in game, plus duel weild more offten than a BL and can double atttack something BL's don't get at all. And how you figure that an adamantite club at 15/25 would be as good for a monk as this I have no idea.

Beastlords do get double attack for PoP AA ability and beleive me it does make a big difference in dps.

thewretched monks do not get triple attack as an AA. They get it automatically for hitting lvl 60. The AA punishing blade gives the monk a chance to score an extra hit each round he attacks if he using a two handed weapon.

Hey, genius. Learn before you speak.

Beastlords have a Class Ability that increases their chance of using dual wield.

Beastlords have a PoP Ability that gives them Double Attack.

Care to make any additional totally inaccurate statements to make yourself look like more of an idiot?

Monks and beastlords share a damage table, all part of being a monk hybrid. Truth be told, most monks will go with the more damaging 2hb because of that wonderful dual wield and the simplicity of not having to carry around multiple weapons.

Two fast one handers that will let ripostes and damage shields eat you alive or one 2hb that puts out the same damage but lets you survive long enough to turn off auto attack when the mob turns and goes into riposte frenzy. You make the call

I prefer fangs and Gharn's rock myself. Let the BSTs have whatever they can get, seeing as they'll never be monks. ;p

There's a BST on Torvon that just came back from Legends that has them. She was the first to get them on their server at least.
