Planes of PowerThere is no quest giver fo this item. The real quest is Trep's Shopping list. After finish this quest he says thats all I can give you but you combine a:
Cloclwork carapace
Metal rod
Gnomish bolts
Firewater
and Grease ; in a tool box you should get something nice. The something nice is a Wok :)
Now what its used for is still in question still working on finding out what that is.

Could one of you please tell me who the quest giver in pok is and where they are found. I happen to have the carapace and a drop of oil but so woudl like to do this quest
has anyone figured out what to use this for yet? is it to make armor? if so what stats and what classes/races etc. please post any info you have on it for everyone else, thanks

Found a quest originating in Plane of Knowlege that can use the clockwork carapace. It is to be combined with other items in a toolbox to create something nice. Still working on getting the carapace to find out what this quest gives.

This is one of the ingrediants that is used to make a wok which is used in baking. To make the wok you need :
Clockwork Carapace (1) Dropped
Metal Rod (1) Storebought
Gnomish Bolts (1) Storebought
Firewater (1) Crafted with Tinkering, 50 Trivial
Drop of Grease (1) Dropped
The Clockwork carpace is the bottleneck for this device and i regularly sell them for 85pp. The wok itself ranges from 200-300pp. The carpace drops off the spiders in PoI, albeit rarely. About 1 in 10 or so drop them. Hope this helps :)
