This item is great on pvp for up until about lvl 10, you can make a char(fully twinked of course) and then you can wear the ring and never have a fear of dying, you see, when you get below 55hp just slip off the ring and you will instantly die, without the person being able to loot you

what about non pvp? if a mob has you down below 55hp and you slip it off.. will you lose xp when you die? .. and who is willing to try? :)

used to be if u comitted suicide, i.e. fall to death/nuk self or remove hp item befroe death no xp loss, but it has since been discoved by the sony gods and you now will lose xp.

Hate to say this, but that won't work. If you take it off when you are below 55 HP it just adjusts your HP scale. Say you have 300 HP, with the ring on. If you take it off you only have 245. If you get to 45 HP and take it off, your total available HP will drop 55. It will read 45/245 on the HP scale. You don't instantly lose the 55 HP, it simply adjusts the scale.

Well i must say that you are wrong. When you remove HP buffs, your max hp goes down, but your hp avaiable is the same. But when you remove an HP item (necklace, rings, earrings...)you loose the ammount of hp of that item.

You have 45hp left, you remove a 55hp ring, you are dead at -10hp, no exp loss, cant be looted.

Thats how it works.

No, when you loose an hp buff your available hp doesnt stay the same.. man, how did you get to 53.. twice and then to 59 on another, good grief!

If your available hp stayed the same after you took it off, id find an hp item for each slot, equpip them once and then put something else with better stats in. but since thats not the way it works, you have more available hp when its on but not when it is off...

I cant beleave I had to explain that to someone 20+ levels higher than me.

Actually, he was right, and you apparently misunderstood him.

If I were to cast a symbol of Pinzarn on you, you'd have an extra 250 or so HP (lets say a total of 1250). You go fight a mob, who does 400hp of damage to you. You're now at 850/1250 hp.

Click off the Symbol spell, and your life bar actually appears to go up. Pull up your persona screen, and you'd see that you STILL have 850hp, but out of a total of 1000. Your MAX HP went down, your available remained the same. (Obviously, you'd probably have regenned a few hp during that time, but that was not important to this discussion). The only time the available would also go down, is if you are not injured for at least 250hp.

What they are saying is different with items (I have not tested this, so am not sure if it is correct), If you took the same character listed above, and instead of clicking off the symbol, you removed a 55hh 5ac ring, their current and max hp would be 795/1195. Both would go down.
