AnlornRedbranch posts: When I click on an item here on this site, I am hoping to see the following information:
1. What drops the item?
2. Where? That is, location of spawn?
3. How often? Spawn rate? Is it a rare drop or no?
4. Is there a placeholder? If so, what is it?
5. If there is a quest associated with the item, what did the player learn while doing the quest that may help others?
6.Are there any tips for killing the mob that drops it, or in getting to that mob?
<addendum>
7. Mobs lvl/hp/resists check/pure melee/caster?
If caster spells cast.

This is not the result of a quest any more than drops off the Avatars in PoAir, Rings in Earth, or the Killing of Bertox is. It's simply a drop off a dragon in PoV. No quest needed, you just need someone to open the door.
Personal Horror Story about Ring

Let me tell you guys the story about what happened to my guild with this ring.

We had tried to kill AD a few times before and wiped out. Then, we worked out a strategy (sorry, it's top secret) that we hoped would work. We tried it, and what do you know, it did work! One of the loot items was some piece of crap shoulder item. The other was the Ring of Nobility. I put my name in the hat for it, not really expecting to get it, but hoping. We had our temporary flags from killing AD, but had only a few of us had made it permanent by zoning into HoH. Most of us were hanging around in lair waiting for the command to get flagged and/or hoping to get the ring. While we were waiting for the loot decisions to be announced, we all started getting bad lag spikes. Suddenly, I went LD. I tried to log back on and discovered that the server was locked. I discovered that my guild had set up a chat channel and that everyone on the raid had been kicked off the server. Later, when the server came back online, we logged back on in the lair. The server had been reset. The golems were back up, but AD was not. Our temporary flags were gone. The loot was gone. A GM eventually responded to our petitioning and told us we were out of luck. Everyone had been rolled back a few minutes, and even those that had zoned and made their flags permanent discovered that they were no longer flagged. One of my guildmates actually lost some items, although she was reimbursed for them.

Sickness

I am sorry, but these discussions make me sick. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but why oh why do they all say the same thing..."This item will only go to...", and then if anyone DARES to voice any other opinion they say..."...and besides you will never be high enough, or in a good enough guild to get this..." Each and every item in the game has a class/race, and in some cases religion tag on it. Anyone with ANY class and even a modicum of intelligence will use "Can and Will Use, Need Before Greed" loot system. Any class that can use the item and will equip it gets a shot. If you are using any other loot rules you are a moron, and worse, if you are in a guild which "Awards" items you are an even bigger moron.

I agree. When I click on an item here on this site, I am hoping to see the following information:

3. How often? Spawn rate? Is it a rare drop or no?
4. Is there a placeholder? If so, what is it?
5. Are there any tips for killing the mob that drops it, or in getting to that mob?
6. If there is a quest associated with the item, what did the player learn while doing the quest that may help others?

Instead, 95% of the time I just see people squabbling over who should get it. Those issues are matters for people to work out within the framework of their own guild or hunting group. And I could give a damn how other people's guilds divide their loot.

Amen Anlorn,
If people could stick to the facts the information found here would be of much more use.

Vengeance. Thats why. I as an enchanter see this and would opt to have one of the above posted classes get it in an instant.

If the classes name is on it they roll. If and only if it's all/all should these crazy "this class gets this item" rules be applied.

Thank you i am glad someone said that, i play a necro and would never deprive a meatshield or MT from having this, this in MHO is perfect for a sk, pally or bst seeing as they could all use the str and sta and the int, wis and mana actually would help the few meatshield that are not being MT whenever that would actually happen. and before they all start flaming me i know bst are never going to tank probably ever but especially after 58 which is the requirement but it couldn't hurt to let them have one if no one else needed it which probably won't happen.
RE: argh

What and leave all the over crap to the Bst? No thanks. See how many Bst's will stick around if thats all they get. Does'nt matter if they can tank or not. They deal damage higher than monk with 64 pet and double attack. Can Monks tank anymore? And dont say pets die to enrage. Well they do if you dont have pet hold for aeo and enrage. Only time my pet dies now is if Im in tell hell or semi afk. Lets just say my pet and I contribute equall than all the other classes counting their crits and failing to notice anyone but themselves. People will continue to flame Bst's because they want to eliminate as much compitition as they can = greed. If you're paying your monthly rate, show up for raids, put forth the same effort. You should be entitled to the the same rewards as everyone else for your time. I wont join another guild that tells me, "yes you may play this game, but you cannot have what everyone else wants". And when it comes time for grouping for exp, who's gonna be getting the groups? Not the class that gets shafted everytime due to greed. ***** that. I'll take my 110 aa and find a guild with a fair loot system.

Once I hit 60 several months back, I looked around for a points system guild, not one that goes for awarded system. The person who wants it most will bid for it, simple as that. If no one bids, grats rot. I've seen a lot of items that would be an upgrade for me rot because myself and others didn't see it worth spending the points on a certain slot. We're all just saving our points for items we see as more of an upgrade.

Well said Kor. I've seen undeserving tanks get good loot that a make-every-raid caster would kill for just because so many adopt narrow views like haste > all and so on. Game is supposed to be fun for everybody.
