Windblade vs. Black Bastardsword?

Windblade is better dps... but WMBS (War Marshall's Bladed Staff) is better dps than both because it gets the DMG bonus with the lowest delay. Stats are up to you... depending on what race/class/roll you chose.

I'm currently using the Black Bastardsword, and only use the proc to maintain aggro (although not usually needed as most ShadowKnights will usually tell you) and sometimes steal it away from the MT... so can be anoying in certain situations. I'm saving up for some other items I want atm, and have other weapons to use if aggro becomes an issue.

Windblade can outdamage WMBS given a high enough attack, but if you're comparing those weapons, you most likely don't have the attack for it.

We did the hedge last night and I was one of only 2 sk's there. I won this item. =) Haven't had a chance to really use it yet, but I figure I will use this when I MT in exp groups, and use my windblade for raids. Was a good night.

if im in a group doing LDoN or such.
The Black ******* Sword ill use when doing my Main Tank role.

Oh a personal note:Windblade blows.
What would you rather have?
# Nov 30 2003 at 3:03 PM Rating: Decent
Hi, I am wondering what a Sk would rather have; This sword or the Marshall's ( https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=19054 )

Marshall is good for a fast 2Hs, and this is great for aggro and inbetween spell casts. But I want an opion of someone else cause I don't know what I would rather have at the moment.

Any help appreciated.
War's
# Nov 27 2003 at 4:24 AM Rating: Decent
War's can take the hits, everyone know that...but when it comes to being MA, it's not about just taking the hits, it's about being the ONLY one to take the hits. An earlier post said that "anyone can take agro;" everyone EXCEPT war's....if a chanter or cleric takes agro in a place like BoT, by the time the warrior has agro the chanter or cleric is dead without a secondary healer... Where-as a SK or pally can take agro with a simple cast. SK's have the best agro spells, thats not debatable; however pallys have they're stuns that stop the mobs attacks outright, and allow 2-3 taunts before it starts attacking.

All and all, a good pally can hold agro pretty much as well as a SK... but war's can not. war's are only good on long drawn out raid mobs as MA's, nothing more.

Black Bastardsword
# Nov 02 2003 at 5:22 PM Rating: Default
This weapon dropped for my raid-group when my guild was doing flagging for the Terris Thule event.

I was awarded it as an upgrade to the Tae Ew Two Hand Sword I was using, and it seems every bit the equal of weapons that drop from the Temple of Veeshan, and very much "post-Epic".

Seems weird that it's tradable.

Any truth to the rumor that bad CHARISMA helps a SK hold aggro? Cause mines at 25 I think, and she keeps the attention quite well.Sometimes on warriors 2-3 lvls higher than her.
nice weapon

http://www.crypticshadows.net/images/bbs1.jpg is the screenshot of the sword. I just traded my windblade for this straight up. Doesnt do near the damage of the windblade, but I am happier with it. Plus I am usually MA in the group and raids, so its the perfect weapon for me.

What should I do?

I have about 30k right now, and I have a lvl 45 SK. On my server I can get this for about 29k, and wait a long time to use it, or I can get a windblade for about 20k more. I am currently using a reaver, and windblade is about equal to it at level 49 as far as ratio goes. Should I save up to get the windblade first, then get the BBS at 55? How much better does this hold aggro?
RE: What should I do?
# Nov 30 2004 at 11:22 PM Rating: Decent
just buy a velium gemmed greatsword if yuo got 30k...lot better than BBS and windblade
RE: What should I do?
# Jun 04 2003 at 5:56 PM Rating: Decent
Should be obvious, but if you can just buy the windblade. Windblade might in some cases be better than the Black Bastardsword, and true this will hold aggro a lil better, but you shouldn't be too concerned about holding aggro if you are a SK. Shadow Knights get the best taunting skills, especially at higher levels. Windblade will work just as well for you.
I know have a SK
# May 08 2003 at 7:27 AM Rating: Decent
Only thing i can say is look at Windblade :
http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=16695
OK then now let me tell you that the black bastardsword here is good : decent ratio, great stat for non-twinking and proc is nice 200 agro augmenter. ok so here come the pain Perfect for group situation, but in raid the domage output could be better with the windblade. But in the overall i tell you .......... I WANT ONE :).
Grats to all who obtain one :)

This sword absolutely rocks. I play as MT for my group constantly and this sword holds aggro like a dream. Not that SK's have problems holding aggro anyway but my enchanter and rogue both adore this weapon. Got the deal of a lifetime and scored this puppy on Cazic for 8k in the bazaar. Been offered 30k several times, but I'd never dream of selling it. Windblade can blow. That is all.

LOL ok so u can out agro a war heh so can a shammy or chant slowing or a wiz over nuking

but can ya tank mobs that double for 900+?

yes anyone who wants to can most likely get agro the real question is when ya got it what ya going to do with it?

I buff for over 7700hp just in a pick up group and better then 8K on a raid.

nope I dont hit for crap and need the toons I am with to watch their agro and as for equipment I am not sure there are many who have better when it comes to getting agro, but as I said anyone can get it I guess its just a matter of how much mana the cleric has for those who should not have it : ) peace all

#REDACTED, Posted: May 31 2003 at 4:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You buff for 8k? ha ha, what a joke. I wouldn't talk trash like that and then say "I buff for 8k". And to let you know, while we usually have warriors (with close to 10k) as our main tanks, it's not unheard of for one of our troll shadowknights to MT for us in the elemental planes. With mobs that hit for WELL over 900. More like a couple thousand in a single hit.

Sk power
# Feb 07 2003 at 1:46 AM Rating: Decent
Exactly, Just picked up a Black ******* sword today, my sk is only lvl 54 and already a huge aggro magnet. Cant wait to use it. I already have been a MA in the planes for countless groups starting at lvl 52. Sk's will out damage and out aggro any warrior. Period.

#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 14 2002 at 12:42 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) sorry to inform you but, so far pali have gotten 5 to 1 really nice wepons compared to SK. maybe this is verants way to make up for making all those really cool old world wepons like the MoSS and and the green mist. those two certainly compare to the pali double bladed wepon among many others that are coming out of PoP. perhaps the SKs better wepons will come out of the not so easy zones to get into. i for one know that this is no cake walk.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 02 2003 at 10:48 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) That's cause SK's are teh suck 8)~
Stamina
# Dec 03 2002 at 4:05 PM Rating: Default
ok, I got a Stamina of 195, wow this weapon sucks up the stamina !! (weapon looks pretty cool, kinda just a simple look though) Anyone else have this stamina issue?
RE: Stamina
# Jan 19 2003 at 12:24 PM Rating: Decent
If your Sta is 195, I am confused what your issue is, that you can't jump? That yellow bar means nothing after you get to 100 other then your jump ability. But anyone with a sta of 195 knows that right?
Update on Required vs. Recommended
# Nov 27 2002 at 12:29 PM Rating: Good
Just a follow up... it's official, you cannot wield this until 55. I had the wep since lvl 50 and could not wield it until I hit 55 last weekend.
Badass

someone please post a screenshot of this badboy I saw that pally double bladed weapon earlier, looks like verant decided to finally put some effort into making our weapons look badass
Recommended vs. Required
# Nov 07 2002 at 3:21 PM Rating: Good
I just wish they would use the correct terms in the item descriptions. They should use "Required" and "Recommended" correctly.

I have one of these on my SK and he cannot wield it at level 51. So, I suspect that it should be marked "Required Level 55"

RE: Recommended vs. Required
# Dec 04 2002 at 2:15 AM Rating: Default
Agree completely. Say recommend vs required.

Yeah that bites. And you have to wait 4 more feaking levels to use it (

Droppable loot

I like the trend in droppable loot. It seems that the "recommended level" concept is catching on over at Verant. No Drop was a drag, trivial loot code was a big drag, but now this recommended level is seemingly effective. It stops twinking (who is going to pay 20k for a 2HS that has a ratio of 3/40 at level 5? *grin*)

I buy a lot of my gear, and as anyone know who's hit their mid-50's, after a while there's just nothing left to buy. 100 spider fur cloaks for sale, 1 cloak of flames, and nothing in between.
