Being that it is a instaclick invis, even if vs animals, this is perfect for a swarm kiting bard. Casting any kind of invis on a bard breaks the charm.

Does this still drop (Feb 2004)?
Is is usable out of inventory, or does it have to be equipped? The screenshot seems to be rather old, which is why I am asking. Thanks in advance.
Edit: NM, just looked it up on Lucy and it says "Must Equip". Sigh, at least that saves me some camping, looking for out of inventory clicker.

i was hunting there with my lvl 20 warrior "Rulaan" on the Rodcet nife server. and i thought that it was a junk piece of armor and was going to put in in the guild bank. well i found outthat at the time it was worth 5k. and for a first time play with a warrior with crafted stuff this was a new door opened. so i went up to the Bazaar and sold,sold,sold hehe than bought,bought,bought. well i hope that the other people that find one are as happy as i was. well my warrior "Rulaan is still waring the Uber armor i bought with the ring and i now made more PP getting 4 of them in Rulaan's life , well i must be off im going to go farm with my druid and warrior and try this again. OMG it dropped and then i looked in the Bazaar They are asking for 15-27k for it. I guess since only about 5 ppl actually still hunt in LOIO the price has skyrocketed. So start Farming so low lvls can buy it :) or so u can get VERY rich.

It finally dropped today! I was all excited :)
I camped it 3 times for 2-4 hours each time. The PH info here is correct:
a sabretooth cat
a sabretooth tigress (lots of tigresses around that are not on the cycle - but killing these will kick-start the cycle if you lose it)
a goblin brawler
a goblin skirmisher
greater scalebone
greater skeleton
an Iksar marauder (these can be like tigresses. I logged in once to find 6 of these up)
an Iksar brigand
a Sarnak youth
a Sarnak flukie
a Sarnak courier
I usually had at least 2 cycles going at once. If the cycle stopped, killing tigresses seemed to get it going again.
I killed the PH's from just north of the goblin ruins to as far as the haunted ruins behind the windmill.
Typically once the courier spawned I would get several couriers in a row (usually 3, then something else, then maybe another courier).
I probably killed around 30 before a glowing courier spawned - indeed the one that carries the ring casts a greater lightstone glow.

jovian has it right the ring just droped for me feb 19 2007 on the combin
i will add i found 3 cycles 1 in between the windmill and the fort
and atlest 2 between the the windmill and the gob ruin. of the2 one cycle has a tigress and the outher dose not. the cycle without a tigress dosent seem to spawn very many couriers.total 20 hours maybe 30 couriers 1 ring and 1 very happy chanter btw i used a 22 lvl druid to camp it

All the information on here was great. Took me nearly 8hrs of camping to get it but wil indeed be great. Don't expect a fast drop it took me around 60 couirers for the kill

Yep the ring still drops got one off of first courier i killed....just got luck i guess
Does this still drop? just spent 11 hours camping it on a 65 wizzie and my 53 bard, killed the courier 20+ times, no drop. Got very old, the PHer info does work though.

Any bards that charm kite (swarm kite) have lost exp due to a missed note on invis song. It happens, just part of the process. Missed notes are a thing of the past with this. Gonna try and get this to drop but if i see for sale at the right price it is mine, well worth it. And the bonus of having an extra song slot.

It is considered a "beneficial" spell. You can NOT cast beneficial spells on other teams on SZ.
If it were considered a "harmful" spell, you wouldn't be able to cast it on other players on blue servers.

Okay, understood... how would it effect someones pet from coming after me, if i cast on myself? Would it get confused or would it come right at me because of it's original aggro. Getting tired of pets killing me with guards just standing there going La Di Da...: )
invising "after the fact" is too late.....worthless to do, aggro remains, invis is not an aggro wipe spell

One last question then. If I don't have aggro from the pet and am already invis to it from using the ring, can a caster still sick the pet onto me? If the answer is no, then this ring isn't worth the time to try and get.

i'm tired and its late, but i think you guys are missing the point, you cast it NOT on you, but on the person you are dueling and it forces their pet to suicide. Anyone that has EVER played a pet class knows that if you use any form of invis, be it IVA, IVU or just normal invis, it causes the pet to die as if you /pet get lost.
Like I said maybe i'm reading you guys wrong, i'm tired, but you don't cast it on YOU in a duel.

You do, however, need to be grouped to cast invis on someone.
I got one off somethin in LOIO on Tarrew Marr a while ago, I think a goblin. Great for reducing casting time, can heal 750 hp in about 2 minutes (with KEI of course). Light's great, haven't found a good use for the IvA though.

after you cast a spell you have a recast timer that ticks(the time it takes for the color to come back to your spell icons after they grey out from casting) if you have an instant right click effect item and use it right after casting a spell then it negates the recast timer on your spell icons . this means that if you have a 2 second recast timer you can cast a spell right click your item and cast a spell again and cut out the 2 second recast time.
this is also taking advantage of a bug in the game design so i wouldnt advize using thgis technique but its widely used and probobly not a wise idea to post it that you do it, although i dont think verant realy cares about it because its been around for a long time

I swear to god... this ring is the biggest waste of time... i have killed atleast 500 couriers and not gotten a ring... please shoot me now to put me out of my singing misery!

Ok, here are some facts/tips/info on obtaining this ring.
-=HUNTING GROUND=-
Varies - Generally the hunting ground for all the PH's and the Sarnak Courier is between the Windmill and just past the Goblin ruins.
If you go pass the River mouth near the zone to FV you've got too far. Those mobs are normal spawns and are not PH's.
-=WHAT ARE THE PLACE HOLDERS (PH)=-
The place holders are 95% of the time one of these MOB's.
A Goblin Brawler
A Sabretooth Cat
A Greater Scalbone
A Sarnak Youth
A Sarnak Flukie
A Goblin Skirmisher
Greater Skeleton
A Sarnak Courier
...all in no particular order.
Once a PH or courier is killed, another will instantly (3 second delay) pop in its place somewhere in-between windmill and Goblin ruins kinda near the river mouth to FV.
NOTE: Sometimes the cycle gets glitched where nothing appears on track. This happeneds from time to time but its easy to fix. At this point kill the top 7 things on track to restart cycle.
NOTE PART TWO: It IS possible to see 2 to 3 (rumors of 4) place holders up at the same time. that means you have 4 chances of spawning the Courier at once.
-=I SEE THE COURIER=-
Great, you'll probably see 10 or more of him during the course of your stay. The Goblin Ring is his RARE drop and its not uncommon to see 30 Courier's killed with no ring. Expect a 2-5 hour camp of doing nothing but killing left and right.
You will know you have the right Courier when he is illuminated with a Greater Lightstone around him. At this point celebrate as your wacking/nuking away cause your hard earned time hasn't been wasted.
-=RUMORS AND MYTHS=-
-"1800pp? for this ring? isn't that hight?" No, thats actually low. The Goblin ring can be worth to as much as 5K - 10K depending on the server. Charm classes like Necros, Chanters, Bards and Druids use this ring to "Break charm" in a hurry to prevent death so they can kill it themselves. Worth its weight in gold when in the hands of someone that knows how to use it.
-"The Courier is nerfed. I've killed XX Couriers and not one ring has dropped" Relax! - he still drops the ring. Its VERY rare so expect a long camp.
-"Can a non-tracking class try to get the ring?" You can try, but without Track its next to impossible to find the next PH spawn in a time-friendly manner. Not recommened unless your a Ranger/Druid/Bard.

This guide was great in locking down the ph. I kept it locked for hours without needing to reset. As others have said Marauders should be added to the list. Also, Iksar Brigand (rarely), and extremely rarely I saw a tigress. With those 2 exceptions added, I've kept the cycle going virtually indefinitely. Hope this helps.

I followed Limecherry's post and he has it right. As others have stated add Iksar Marauders to his list and it's golden.
-Confirmed 4-20-08 (as a side note he was glowing for me also)
after nearly 8 hours of camping and so many couriers I didn't care to count anymore I just got my ring.
One note though. I had 2 cycles going for about an hour and a half and only got 2 couriers total. I then decided to switch and the next courier I saw I just stayed on his cycle and ignored the other one. I started getting 1 courier every 5-10 min with this method. So if you get 2 or more cycles going and don't see any couriers for awhile try picking one and sticking to it.
The only correction to Limecherry's post that I can make is this:
He mentions that if you see nothing on track to kill the top 7 to reset it. This is not quite right, especially if your tracking skill is low(mine is 50 as of looting the ring). What happens when you kill a placeholder is that within 3 seconds it's replacement will pop. BUT it could spawn anywhere from the base of the windmill to just north of the goblin ruins. If you don't see the replacement right away run in the other direction and you WILL see it. Also keep that new handy auto-refresh up for tracking it's invaluable for this.

An excellent guide. I noticed (as others have said) that the Iksar Marudars are also on the PH list. Still, following this list and keeping my eye on the top of the track window, I was able to spawn the Courier several times and eventually get my ring. Took me about ten couriers, so I guess I got lucky after reading some of the stories on here.

This ring does drop, got it today(12/4/02), however it is a very rare drop. Very useful for breaking charm for any class, as any invis drops charm.

It's also useful for druids wanting to break charm on an animal quickly. I use mine in PON.

I was just wondering if anyone has gotten one of these rings in the last month or so. I know this is supposed to be a rare drop, but I killed 8 couriers tonight, and the only thing he ever had on him was the hand for the iksar quest.

My group and I killed this Courier thing, but I only got an Amber from it. The only reason I even looted that was I could sell it and I'm not the richest Necromancer out there.
It looks like I'm gonna hunt a few more of these even though they con low for me. I cold use the 2k in cash or so! =)

rogue are coded so that ANY invis cast on them makes them invis vs alive and undead mobs.... i this is comon knowledge
I sold it for 2K very quickly. It did drop, so it either stopped dropping and restarted or is just very very rare. This was the first time I've ever seen let alone killed the courier so I feel very lucky.
