Just wondering, does this also have a faction modifier, as you have to turn in the planar manual to get it, and so it would be kinda annoying to have to do that quest again to regain the faction?
Also, doing this at lower levels is quite worth it, especially if you have a lot of plat. I can buy the steins for 150-250 each and each run gives me about 12% of a level (at lvl 34). This isn't bad for when a mid-level rogue gets board selling in the bazaar and doesn't want to group with people he doesn't know. :)

I think it is kinda dumb, but this doesn't have a faction modifier, and it eats your planar tavel manual when you do it. So if you want the planer maual AND any of the beginer's mauals you have to do willimina's needle quest twice.
They are beginner's manuals because ALL classes and racecs can use them. so a shaman or Cleric can add stealth skills or stats I should say with this item. I think they are kinda neat if you have a warrior with 255str 255sta and only 100 Dex and Agi... this can help quite a bit. This is Veriant's way of trying to add depth to the game and character abilities. ... just wish I had one character 55th level lol....

Look further up the quest line, Secrets of the Planes uses all three advanced books (Melee/Magic/Stealth) so it has nothing to do with these being beginner books so any class/race can wear them.
Hobgoblins are nasty.. quad for 300+ ,, the higher ones go over 400..

Face it - you may be a big dog in your home town; but in the planes, at 55 you're just a puppy.

its marked that high because hobogoblins (PoN) requrie a full group of 55+ characters to kill.
