Why CHA
# Jan 19 2006 at 7:40 AM Rating: Good
You looking at the Diseased Ratskin Mask and thinking, why does wearing something like this raise your charasima?

Remember how parentheses work in algebra? Instead of looking at it like this:

Diseased( Ratskin ) Mask

Look at it like this:

( Diseased Rat)skin Mask

So it wasn't the skin, but the rat, that was diseased. Maybe he had colon cancer? By wearing the skin of a rat who wasn't killed for this mask, you are supporting the fight against killing animals just to wear their skins. This shows efficiency/economics/compassion/whatever. Or, you've just got a sick rat fetish. However, the arguement is there for the CHA :)

whoops hit enter. why is there a CHA buff on a diseased rat. I find them quite vile not huggable. And 10 CHA at that. Way to go SOE, your logic is as sound as always
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 18 2003 at 2:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You're trying to apply logic to magic? Funny. Or are you just looking for any excuse to whine about SOE?

Does this item actually cast Storm Strength like the information above says or is it Extended only...???

The effect in the picture is the correct effect, I've looked the item up on other sites and it's listed as having ER4.

Class prefered is silly. Just a chance to yak and post. (However I LOVE Zinphandel's philosophy!!)

Necro = hp/sta pri stat (well at 65 I could care less about int, I burn health at 50 a tick in lich and the more sta/hp the better. 93 a tick buffed and in lich)

Also note that POP named in PoT, CoD, BoT and above can ae up to 2k damage. Your casters are splattered fast without hp if the ae catches em. (don't even start a resist thread . . . )

If you have tackled these higher tier mobs you'll see all casters will want the hp/manna and some sta.

In short this item is just under "uber" Not there but still very nice. And yes there is always many better items.

Give me a brake. Why is anything with 1 Cha or more is enc? Go to Gregs End and get the +40 cha mask now that is enc. This is any class and a very nice and very usable to all casters. I'm a mage and would trade my golem jaw for this any day.

No No No!

This item is -clearly- enc-only for one clear and simple reason:

I'm an enc. I want one. Therefore, it's enc-only.

See how that works?

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 29 2002 at 11:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Oh man! I hope this doesn't drop off those diseased rats ... that would make it too easy to get these :)
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 29 2002 at 12:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) All I can say is... JOYGASM! That's got "super give-it-to-me happy fun enchanter" written all over it... (EVIL GRIN)

chachacha
# Oct 28 2002 at 11:25 PM Rating: Default
I agree that enchanters would get the most benefit from it ... the 10cha would keep me at my max cha while greatly boosting my int and mana over my present face item. ... and extended range 4 would allow me to stay at an even safer distance when fighting with a charmed pet.

necros would get the next most benefit from it as they generally have low cha but need it.

(unless you are still one of those misinformed ones who think necros need negative cha - actually they just get maximum cha benefit at a lower cha than chanters do)

wiz and mag get equal benefit from the mask, lesser than chanters and necros, all other classes are obviously irrelevant since they arent on the list!
RE: chachacha
# Mar 25 2004 at 3:23 PM Rating: Decent
You are all missing the effect. Extended range would KICK TOTAL *** for the two left out classes. Wizzys and Mages. Nukes draw more aggro than heals. Staying a ways away would be good!

So often I see people saying this item is best for this class, and I see wiz and mage listed as the least benefited by this item. Is 10 intelligence of less benefit to these classes than 10 charisma to an enchanter? Is extended range of spells of less benefit to one casting class over another? I think not. Be honest, all who benefits from these stats would be equally benfited by it. Get it to drop, roll on it, and hope you win.

I'm not sure if Ench would get that much more benefit from it than necro's. At the recommended lvl of 55 I would imagine most enchanters would have their cha maxed anyway? I'm not sure as I don't play one. But a necro could always use more HP, and this adds 50. I would call it a near toss up, but since I play a necro would have to lean a little to their side. =)
Info on what it drops off

Anyone could list the creatures in pod that drop this?

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 28 2002 at 6:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I wouldn't be surprised if that was a datbase error when entered into the EQ server and should actually be NEGATIVE 10 cha. It would make a lot more sense.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 28 2002 at 6:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Last time I checked when it says NEC WIZ MAG ENC that usually means that it's for ALL that are listed not just Enchanters... Be a sport and stop posting on who should get this and that... I think they shoyuld have added Druid to this mask for the charming of our pets...
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 28 2002 at 6:59 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Nobody said it's enchanter only...he said it wouldn't GO to enchanters only. And this would not make a good druid mask, it has a mana on it, but not wisdom, and I'd take wisdom over charisma anytime.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 28 2002 at 8:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) And when you get to be 55 you'll take mana over wis. +50 mana for a mask is respectable, that is the equivelent of +10 wis when your talking about wis over 200 (and trust me, you'll be over 200 unless you got a bunch of realy nice gear that unfortunatly dosen't include wis). What realy makes this item nice isn't the mana, or the saves (though +10 and +15 to saves is very nice), or the stats that makes this a desirable mask, it's the focus: extend range 4! That makes it possible to cast heals, nukes, dispells, dots, whatever and generate less agro because your farther away. While enchanters seem to get the most use out of this (most people know about extended range and mem blur) there isn't a single caster that would say "but that dosen't help me". So, yes if a druid could use this, a druid of 61+ levels would want this! (unless he already has a extended range 4 item, first one I've seen.)
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 28 2002 at 6:36 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) =)
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 28 2002 at 6:31 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This item seems custom made to be a good enchanter mask. It's got good Cha, Int, HP, and Mana. While I wouldn't say it is ENC only (it's really nice for whoever gets it), I would say that Enchanters would probably benefit most from it. The effect is also very nice.
