Only 2 I know of and I think the size of the shield sometimes (depending on the shield) will appear bigger or smaller depending on the toon using it. Tacticians bulwurk looks small/medium on my ikky shaman but Large on my DE chanter.

Name of a shield?
# Jul 14 2004 at 9:32 PM Rating: Decent
I was wondering if anyone could help me, by telling me the name of the shield that looks like this shield, and also looks like the tactican's bulwark, but is much larger. Same discription as Deathrat gave, but it is usable by pallys, sk's, etc. a melee shield that looks like this and just as big!

If anyone has any ideas or infact knows what shield im talking about, that would be great!

Using a ceramic gravel of justice in range slot just stinks ...
Got one!

Got one last night! The shield looks like Plate armor itself. (Meaning it's somewhat shiny steel with various plates all connected together.)

Very distinctive and one of my favorite pieces of gear! Now I don't have to take off my Itraer Insignia to put that Ceramic Gavel in my ranged slot! (Used to cost me a FT2 item.)

Level IV foci effects now work on spells up to level 65, it was a bug before where they did not.

They also fixed the foci effects on afflictions. They were not meant to effect debuffs or roots. Now they *ONLY* effect dots.

I'm kinda curious... Do affliction foci still work on druid roots? The restriction says "hit points allowed" and druid roots deal damage, sooooo... ??
RE: fixed them

Focus Effect: Affliction Efficiency IV
1: Decrease Spell Mana Cost by 25%
2: Limit: Max Level(65)
3: Limit: Spell Type(Detrimental only)
4: Limit: Min Duration(36.00 sec) <------ :)
5: Limit: Effect(Hitpoints allowed)

One sure way to tell, is to watch your messages. If it says 'Your puss covered beetle carapace shimmers....' or similar when you cast a spell, that means it works with that spell.

PUS COVERED BEETLE CARAPACE
# Dec 04 2002 at 12:04 PM Rating: Default
I just got this shield last night. Very nice shield. It reduces my level 60 and lower spells mana cost by 25% for those spells that are detrimental. The shield looks like thick steel, grey in color and has a picture of a beetle on the front. This shield reduces my mana on roots/charms/dots/debuffs which are very important to me as a druid. When i cast the spells from this category it give me a message that my pus cover beetle carapace flickers. I also got flagged for the Crypt of Decay.

I can see why this gives you an AC bonus of +25. Who would want to hit you if you have something that is pus covered on your arm? You get the same effect by strapping on a skunk to your arm, no one would want to get close to you!

I can see this being great for a Necro for not only does it has affliction Efficienecy IV, but it screams "necro fashion trend!" I can see many necro models spinning on the catwalk strutting thier stuff with this baby, it is their style of item. Shamans would love this too, for their nasty dots and debuffs would work better. I can't picture high elf clerics strapping this obnoxious nasty to their arm, it is just not classy and would clash with their silks, not to mention mess up their perfume/cologne.

15.5 weight? Ack! That is one heavy shell-o-pus!

What he means is that this shield looks like a sheet of steal. It is a grey metal plate. It is real cool looking. You will know when you see this shield. Nice new graphic.

Why would it look like plate? it goes in secondary slot if you read it.

He meant the stats looked like they came from plate armor but they're a secondary held item
