This item can be found off of any of the second tier prisoners.

In PoJ, there are several tiers of mobs. The first tier are the prisoners, roaming sentries, and rats found in the rectangular hallway with cells that you encounter when you first enter from the graveyard (and also where the exit can be found). These mobs drop some vendor junk items, and the rats drop a quest note. Drops here are around 10-20% of kills.

From this section, there is a hallway that leads to the second tier of mobs. Second tier mobs are simply tougher prisoners, sentries, and rats.

>>The prisoners in this section (second tier) are the ones that drop the Golden Charm of the Hopeful!<<

It is a random drop from any of the prisoners (regardless of faction) in this area. They can also drop a pally shield, a chain-class bracer, and a warrior 1HB weapon, along with various vendor trash. You will get an item to drop about 10-20% of the time.

Some notes about the first and second tier:
-Players 54 and below will agro the wandering rats, and even some nearby prisoners, so be careful when pulling
-Players 54 and below under the cloak of an illusion (wolf, bear, etc) will draw agro even if they aren't fighting
-Pets that are 54 and below will draw agro if other mobs see them engage in combat
-The prisoners in the second tier are on zone-specific faction; killing them will have an impact on other mobs in the area

I, a 46 mage, was in PoJ the other day. The festering rats did not aggro on me, until/unless I sat down. This was in the first-tier area near the zone-out.

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 30 2002 at 11:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is good item, but as a 51 chanter I still find my Blackoned Alloy Medalion to be better with its Mana Preservation II effects. Although alot of the spells I use are over the effects range... I still save more mana with my castings that makes the +45 mana to make enough difference. Maybe as I get higher that effect will become less useful .. but for now I will stick with my BAM
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 27 2002 at 12:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok I dont post on these things usually, but here is my 2 cents. Yea you can buy a 7int player made jewelry. But this item is 5int and 45 mana. From my understanding this would mean 45mana = about 5int, just guessing I dont know the formula. So your looking at a item with 10int and not 7int with HP also. Also my 45mana = 5int is for 50+ not for your twinks. This is a good item in my own opinion. Many people do not have Uber equipment like so many like to think and im sure many would be happy with this item. Not all of us camp the Bazaar.

Most people who consider this "trash" are comparing it to Western Wastes dragon talisman, which aren't too hard to get (specially the low versions), and infinitely superior.

Or the Necklace of Superiority.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 27 2002 at 5:03 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) When you concider you can easily buy a player made +7 int neck item, for fairly cheap, not many folks would want this at 50+.
RE: Well...
# Jun 19 2003 at 1:29 AM Rating: Decent
Considering that when this dropped for my group on PoJ I very swiftly traded out my +7 Int player made necklace... By level 50, plus mana is always better... esp if ye have max Int (which I do with KEI in effect)
RE: Well...

try looking at it this way, 7 int compared to 5 intel 45 mana, its not as trashy as you think.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 26 2002 at 6:02 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) complete and toltal trash...
RE: trash...

Its amazing how little bastards can say everything is a "Piece of toltal trash" when if the item doesn't have 100000 ac and godly stats and focus 5 on the danm thing. I'm a melee so I dont really even care about this kinda stuff but.. Think about your younger years, what you would have done for an item like this, think real hard.. yeah.. I don't care to hear the opinion of a person who cant even spell, or fix his/her spelling of a simple word like :Total:
.. like they say so much, Opinions are like as*holes everyone has one an they all stink!! so little budd keep your trap shut, go after things you don't think are trash and for everything else, don't say nothin, if there ain't nothing good to say! , sorry about the edit, I wanted ********* to show up correct, not like %*#*$#* thanks!!

As a 60 Wizard I've been through just about every zone in the game and seen alot of realy cool stuff. If this thing had been around when I started over 3 years ago it would have had no rival and everyone would have done anything to get it. However comparing it with Luclin, Velious and even Kunark drops, it just falls short in the "risk vs reward" category like everything else in Planes of Power. The Plane of Justice, espeacialy the trials arent something you can just walk into and farm or even attempt without a
well equipped and frankly elite group of poeple who dont make mistakes. One mistake in a trial and you fail and/or die. The dificulty IMO of this zone is about the same level as the new Cazic Thule, where you can obtain much better items for the same risk, and you wont be getting underfoot of poeple who are trying to complete the trials to move on the other Planes.

I agree with you on all points but you also have to look at the reccomended level. 50. Not a bad neck but there are definitly better pieces that you can aquire at level 50.
Sorta disappointing

I've only made it past the first few posts on this update, and I must say the POJ drops just do not seem very good. PoN stuff looked much better. It seems to me that this plane should be open to 20's-30's (unless that changed stupid comp can't handle PoP).
RE: Sorta disappointing

All planes but the Plane of Knowledge require you to be lvl 46 to enter them.

Also remember that at higher levels casters usually have all their int items and are looking to trade out for +mana. This seems to be one of those items.
