My bet is who ever sent in the pic was from the FV server, explaining why there is no "no drop" tag on the pic.

Guild just raided and I won by default (noone else wanted it, lucky me) it is in fact a no drop item.

This has droped every time I've seen the dragon fall, probably about 8 times so far, maybe its not a 'every time' drop item, but all the times I've gone its dropped so my guess is its common at the least. Often guilds will do this multiple times so you can ask to tag along for flagging and maybe get one of these if you aren't able to get one in your guild. Hope this helps some.

My guild has killed Xanamech 3 times. This has dropped once. We have also gotten 2 of the spike drivers, 2 of the haste collars, and one of the rings, plus some parchments and crap loot.
Graphic?

It has the good ole flashing white light graphic...which is very useful if you're beckoning ships that are lost in the fog. :oD

You'd probably have to be in an uber guild to get one of these :(
Technology
# Oct 25 2002 at 1:21 PM Rating: Decent
I truly understand the total and normal evolution of the game with tinkering and the emergance of technology into the game but I fear the end result might be moreharmful than helpful. I mean if it keeps going logicly than soon you might see the emergance of ancient weapons much like the Arqubis* spelling is awfull, an ancient gun of sorts. This makes me nervous cause While i do like the mixing of science and fantasy in such things as Star Wars where technology and magic, and yes ladies and gentelmen the "force" is nothing more than a discipline of magic, I do not think the mixing of it yet is harmfull but fear it can get out of control.
This is just my 2cp worth and I am a true die hard Fantasy player and have been since the introduction of Gary Gygax's Chainmail.

GUNS!!
# Nov 11 2002 at 11:27 PM Rating: Decent
Hey Man, don't wanna bring your world crashing down but what is wrong with a FF8 Squal Type 1hs that maybe Procs some sort of bullet? I think that would be rabid... Anyways... ANY of you Peons can check me no this, if you have a TGA File viewer or not, you can check this out (Adobe Photoshop is what im using right now.)
--
Go to your Base EQ folder. Go to folder "uifiles." Go to folder "default." Open up TGA Image called "dragitem7.tga" -- This is a grid used for the icons you see, they make it into a big file like this so they can stay more organized with less files. Anyways, lookin Second Row, Fourth Column... Your not mistaken, thats a pistol my dear friend, I just hope somebody finds something with that graphic so I can figure out what the flock that thing is. Hope you had fun going thro here maybe you will find other stuff, I have found some Awsome new weapon icons in the Dragitem22 and up, and just lets you go crazy with wonder.
--
If you dont have a TGA file view... Find one... its loads of fun =P... now to switchout my EQ music with the xXx soundtrack......

The pistol graphic is from PoMischief. Dont know if it will still be there with the coming revamp, but I believe it was fished up from there. Norent as well if I remember right, and useless, or for some >random< POM quest.

A fully charged Stein of Moggok has 3 charges of light healing.

That being said, I wouldn't mind one of these. I'm very tired of lugging that stein around.

Wanna bet "Pulsating Phase Emitter" is just another way of saying "another blinking red/white held item for casters?"

It looks like EQ is moving out of the realm of Swords and Sorcery and into the realm of Light Sabers.

I know it's a bit, okay way OT, but that's part of the reason why I always liked both Might & Magic and some of the Wizardry games. They both had a mainly Fantasy playstyle and setting mixed in with bits of Sci-Fi and it made for a fun mix IMHO.

I always felt there was a potential for Tinkering to go off on that same route. And while I know that some people are Diehards for one particular setting, I really like that mix. Maybe I read too many cheap novels, who knows =p

Edit: Gramar speeling and punctuation I changes

Yes, and your name really works in the Sword and Sorcery realms, right?

By the way, Star Wars is Sci-Fantasy, not Sci-Fi.

Before you know it magicians will have pet robots ;)
RE: May the Force be with you
# Mar 11 2003 at 5:07 PM Rating: Decent
Actually, back in Beta there was going to be the ability for gnomes to tinker their own pet clockworks.

That was removed very early on along with low-light goggles and a few other nifty items.
RE: May the Force be with you
# Oct 24 2002 at 8:44 AM Rating: Default
well, you'll see that as soon as a mage get's his/her charm summoned spell.
RE: May the Force be with you
# Oct 23 2002 at 7:30 PM Rating: Good
actualy they can. (correct me if I'm wrong) but if a magi uses monster summoning in PoI I bet they could summon a robot from the zone.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 14 2002 at 5:57 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) SoE is being a lazy bum. In any PoP zone you only get the default earth pet graphic when you try Monster Summoning. It's simply not activated :(.

just a horribly off the subject remark, how many mages out there do you think have redone the monty python killer bunny and killed ulthorks, giants, and various other mobs in EW? i know i have
