Yes, it still drops off of Najena since they added the focus effect (very easy to get if you can nuke for 600 or so damage) :)
New drop loc discovered

Dyrna Nlith in the Dungeon of HighKeep.

I discovered her late one nite while camping the Bards upstairs... was getting bored because of the 30 min spawn of the Bards, so went exploring. She con'd dark blue to my lv 52 Druid. I nailed her pal first and saw that she was healing him, she didn't agro on me while I was casting on him.

I put on all my resist gear and buffed up... putting my Magic resist to 115, then rooted and dot'd her with 4 different dots, then nuked her also... most of her casts I was able to resist... but a couple landed... had to Superior heal myself a couple of times, but nailed her quickly.

This is what she dropped: Clawed Knuckle Ring, Magic, HP +20 Focus effect: Extended Enhancement II. All/All. Killed her 5 or 6 times and got 3 rings... tho sometimes all she dropped was a whip.

Has anybody seen one of these drop of Najena since the focus effects went live?
This would be nice for *any* class with lots of buffs...

This ring would be awesome for any class that has lots of buffs that they use often. With this in mind, I would say that shaman would probably get twice as much use out of it compared to any other buffing class, simply because shaman have sooooooo many great buffs that people always want.

I've been trying to get one of these rings for my shaman, but Najena hasn't coughed one up yet. I've given away about 5 of those flowing black robes now, and still have one in inventory. Haven't seen a book drop yet either... hopefully, she'll cooperate soon and I can get on with my life. :)

I remember back in the old days when this was just a useless 20hp ring, the kind of loot that people destroyed in disgust because it was nearly worthless to anyone who could kill Najena. When I think about how many of these things have been destroyed over the years, and then think about the new focus effect on them and how much time I've spent trying to get one lately, it almost makes me want to cry...

good for buffs

A Shaman, Druid, or Cleric would be happy to have this ring up to level 48 (does not work on the level 49+ spells). slip it on, cast your buffs, put it back in your bag. easy, cheap 15% buff duration increase

A Ring With 20 HPs

I've fought Najena while she was still giving me experience, and I found her to be a bit difficult; her magician buddies keep her well protected. My opinion is that if you are just here for this ring, you can probably spend your time more wisely doing something else. Now if you are here for the robe or the tome and you just happen to get this ring too, then you'll be happy to get this as a bonus prize.

I'm wondering who would be interested in buying this ring, since there are so many better rings available. This is one of the lower-end rings that might be good for a melee class. However, the finger slot is a low priority for low to mid level melee characters, and they will be more likely to spend their money on better weapons and armor. By the time they have enough money to be very interested in the finger slot items, they probably won't be willing to pay much more than a few platinum for 20 HPs. That's just my opinion.

Edit after item changed:
Since they added the focus effect of Extended Enhancement II, I think this item is actually quite useful now. A caster can put on this ring during buffing, and return to their better ring after buffing. This once virtually worthless item is now a nice drop off the queen of the lair.

Not worth it
# Oct 28 2001 at 8:10 PM Rating: Decent
this thing aint worth the trouble of killing najena for. It sucks so bad, 20hp doesnt make a difference by the time you reach the level need to obtain it. I'd say it would sell for 10pp, if your lucky.

I doubt that anyone killing Najena is there for this ring anyway. Considering casters use the Tome and the Robe at lower to mid levels, and Necromancers need to kill her as part of their Epic quest. The ring is... eh. I can vaguely remember a time when I would have worn it so it's not totally worthless to everyone.
