These can be made into fishbone darts using a fletching kit and a fishbone dart tool.

I know these are used in a quest but they also show as being used in tradeskills....anyone have any idea what tradeskill its used in or recipes for that use the bones
Actually, the recipe makes Prepared Fish. The bones are just returned refuse. (do a search for 'bones' in a tackle box and you'll get nothing, do a search on Prepared Fish and you get a lot of variations).
If successful, you'll get Prepared Fish, some Bones and the Fileting knife. On failure, you just get the knife.
However, while one type of Prepared Fish is the same as another, the type of fish used determines what kind of bones you get, so to get these particular bones, you need to use a particular fish.
Applies to Vallorian Discus Bones and Nightmare Cichlid Bones for the Fisherman's Companion quest.
