You mention that the Tranquil Staff proc is UNRESISTABLE.

This is true, but depending on the type of mobs that you are engaging in, the stun factor has no effect.

If you want the extra damage from the proc, be my guest. If you choose the stats of the Screamstaff over the extra damage of the Tranquil Staff, super. Its your choice.

Personally, I have both just for giggles.

I as a BST find it pointless to use 2hb when we can't double attack till PoP AA ability way later on so i tend to like to use my high dual weild skill instead. I tend not to sit on my fat ogre *** too much and let my pet have all the fun. This item is purely monk hell i would even give it to a monk for nothing. The +8 wis is good but 2 weapons with stats for a bst is better than one.

PoV/PoS MoBs hit for over 500. Fast dual wield weapons are awesome, for dealing damage, but you don't wanna be whackin with a coupl 20 delay weapons and chanter haste, when them babies enrage.

2 HB is good for PoP groups. You'll see most tanks switch to 2 HS for the same reason. Tank using slower weapon + you still using dual wield = you pulling aggro too often to make your cleric happy.

lol, then don't stand in front of them. Of course that makes it much more important that you don't get aggro, but by that lvl you should know how to not get aggro.

you'd think that but i was in PoD with a 6 man group , a 55bard a 57shm a 56 bst (58war)me and a 57cleirc a 56rog and wow the bard was up front hitting the mob catching repostes an same for the bst...

its sad many still got no idea how to play their charecters....

DOH!

I have been a caster for WAY too long. DIdn't even occur to me to stay away from the front of mobs as a bst. hehe thanks for the <smack>!

Reality check complete ... who knows, I might be a good bst after all.

Although a matter of opinion, I think I speak for most high-level monks when I say that I would never give up my tranquil staff for this.

Mind you, 29/29 5ac 50hp is great, but still 29/30 with the 120dd unresistable proc / stun beats the lower weight and added stats of this staff.

I guess if you're truely worried about the proc taunt factor, this would be superior, but I've never had a prob with taunt and my TS.

Ok,first off,if you can afford a tstaff, good for you,or if you can solo the WL and spend weeks in kc looking for one all the better, this staff is accsessible to the general masses of monks, deyid is pretty frickin easy,i've done him several times.yes,i did get a screamstaff, and still happily use it over epic fists, would i give it up for a tstaff? probably not, because i'd lose a ton of ac,as i'm 1 below weight limit atm, just my 2 cp.

2 magic damage makes it a 31/29 when not resistant to magic too.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 12 2002 at 8:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I do AGREE. Nothing can stop 100 blows! none-resist 120dd + 1-6sec stun means you have chance do Free damage and take no damage from the target you are poking during his spin time, and it could surely interrupt the casting if the target is trying do so. For my experience, the mount of TS proc really effect by DEX (so I make it near 200w/o buff) and I can sure everytime I face a decent mob with or without group , TS always give me/us a nice chance to interrupt mobs casting/escaping. And surely it gives a nice damage/dly b4 some CT/PoP things. Dont compare some Uber no-drop 2hb with it , TS is awesome, and no sucking " recommand level " tag on it. So pure , so Awesome.

i have to disagre, i think this staff is better becuse not onl is it better ration but also i consider the magic damge. so to me it's 31/29, witch is very nice, alltho the stun on the tstaff is nice, i never relly relay on wep proc for damge, too much of a random timer on those things

This weapon puts out roughly the same and sometimes more DPS than the Tranquil Staff.

It weighs less.

It has stats on it.

It does NOT draw unwanted aggro through a stun proc.

And considering that by the time you're killing Deyid you're starting to kill mobs that won't be stunned often anyways ...

Well, I'd take the Screamstaff over the Tranquil Staff.

Just my preference is all.

Your mileage can and will vary.

Luckily they're BOTH tradable so you can choose whichever one you like best.

#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 19 2003 at 3:33 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Your retarded. "kill mobs that won't be stunned often anyways..." Tstaff's proc is unresistable. That's right. UNRESISTABLE.
RE: TS vs Screamstaff
# May 31 2003 at 9:59 PM Rating: Excellent
Maybe you should think before you call people retarded. The proc may be unresistable but most high end mobs cannot be stunned by any means so that doesn't matter. Go try to stun a Kael Giant sometime. You can't. The proc won't get resisted, but you'll get a message that says the Mob is immune to a portion of the spell.

Thats right! UNSTUNNABLE.

Dumbass.

Actually, from my experience, the STUN factor on higher-end mobs seems little to none. It might be directly related to the mob's level, or it might not, I'm not sure. Interrupt casters it always will do, but stun is sometimes too short to be considered.

However, despite that, I would still use TS over screamstaff, but as I've already mentioned, and so many other have as well, it's a matter of opinion. I personally like the unpredictability of procs, I think they add a little bit of spice to the usually boring swing / miss routine of a fight. Also keep in mind that unresistable procs of this type are almost unheard of.

Maybe you shouldn't say that the people aren't 65 because I play on luclin server and as of yesterday there were at least two level 65 people. There was a 65 shaman and a 65 rogue, so it is possible that there are some already.

as of november 6th, most uber guilds already have a population consisting of mostly 65.

as for the magelo account, while such characters are rare, they aren't impossible.

No the person who took the screenshot wasnt a melee char. Dmg Bonus is something the wielder of the weapon has not the weapon itself and casters/priests dont get any.

This dropped for us last night in plane of nightmare. We talked to NPC near zone in who spawned a level 64+ named tree that we all TP'd too when group leaders finished text with NPC.

My 61 war tanked and the mob hit for 745 on 1st blow then opened disc. 61 ench and 61 shaman got it slowed and 8 people killed it rather fast. It's attack rate was slow but halfway through fight, several more of the Treant/Tree mobs joined fight. I lost count after 6-7 adds, some mezzable, some not.

We had a partial CR but our corpses popped at zone in graveyard so it was npnp. I'm sure it will be nerfed if it already hasn't been.

RE: Screamstaff
# Oct 23 2002 at 9:39 AM Rating: Default
Why on earth do you think this would be nerfed? compare it to a Tranquil staff (29/30 procs unresistable stun, can be solo'd) and the fact that you said this hit for 745 you honestly think the staff the 7 of you got that were all 60 or 61 got couldn't be this good? It would be arguable whether or not to use this over that Tstaff that people can solo to get. I hardly see this as an overpowred easy to get item.

Stun can be resisted i think the DD can't
RE: Screamstaff
# Feb 16 2004 at 2:09 AM Rating: Default
No, mobs higher than level 58 are immune to the stun
RE: Screamstaff
# Dec 09 2002 at 2:05 PM Rating: Decent
Both the DD and Stun on the T Staff is un-resistible. It's just the stun is a spell, so on high lvl mobs is wears off right as it hits.
