Vengeful Diamond Blade dropped from Priest of Tumagal in Plane of Justice a little while ago. He is located in the room with the secret door that leades to the hidden caves. He is light blue to lvl 65. Myself (65 druid) and a 65 Pally killed him in less than a minute with ease. By the time I dot'd him with Swarming Death and nuked him once with Summers Flame he was dead. Hardest he hit me for was in the 120's. He partially healed himself once.

Graphics look like the Gleaming Short Sword. =)

Wow, 10k for this? I just recently paid a cool 800pp for this beauty at Bazaar on the Bertox Server. Quite a sweet deal if you ask me, considering my 1-handed weapon prior to this was a MoSS ( 19/29 +10 INT, SK only ). Damage output is greatly increased and holding aggro is easier. TY to whoever sold this beast to me. ;D

Ebon Mace doesn't compare to this. True, it might be a hell of a lot cheaper, but the stats are quite nice, the magic damage doesn't hurt, and if you're lucky, you might be able to rip someone off. ;P

#RokkenDaboat, Posted: Jun 26 2003 at 5:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This isn't all that good when you think about your other options. 20/27 is a good damage delay ratio none-the-less. About the magic damage, it does not make this 23 27, it means if you hit for 30, and the mob has low magic resist, it will hit for 33. Mace of the Fallen Crusader is 21 25 and reccomended level 53 (even with 3 levels difference it is still better) runs about 100pp. As for shadowknights, Ebon Mace is 19 24 and no reccomended level and is 4-5k, which isn't as much as a difference as 100pp for the MoFC, but still saves a few thousand pp.

I ended up getting a Mace Of The Fallen Crusader and selling this. Now that I got my 1HB over 200, I never use this. My ATK is maybe 15-20 points higher with this, but considering I paid 100pp for the Mace......the cost/performance is what i'm looking at. dmg/dly ratio is 1.17 on this (factoring the +3 magic dmg), and 1.19 on the mace.

STA has never been an issue for me, and I'll take the stats on the Mace (+12str, +8wis, +35hp, +20svd) and 8kpp in my pocket over using this.

It was a great weapon for me....till I got the mace. You can find it for sale on my mule in the bazaar, Poyzon for 8k. On Tholuxe Paels server.

This sword dropped from one of the third-tier "creature faction" prisoners. These are the ones you reach by going down some stairs, where Galoers patrol the hallways. Any third-tier prisoner can drop this.

The one thing not mentioned in any of the (mostly usless) posts below is that the mobs that drop this are V-E-R-Y easy to kill. PoJ in general is a very easy zone to hunt in if you are 56+, and only slightly more difficult if you are under 55. I recon a decent group of all level 46 players can hunt here and eventually obtain this sword. The risk-reward ratio is certainly biased towards the players as far as obtaining this very nice 23/27 droppable sword is concerned.

I never bothered to maintain 1HS or bash skill after level 40, so my 1hs weapons (and shields) were never upgraded. This sword is now my main 1hs weapon along with a shield that drops off second-tier prisoners (Plated Shield). The damage output is about 25%-35% lower than my usual two-handed weapon output, but it does help when hunting casters or trying to draw agro. With shammie buffs and IoN, this weapon ROCKS versus undead (especially a select few undead caster mobs in the PoJ dungeons).

For a sword that is not quested, nor purchased, nor came off a raid mob, nor is mythically rare, this weapon is far from being a "crap sword".

this sword has +3magic dmg so its really 23/27, people forget to keep that in mind. Also i use it at lvl 51, and the sword is awesome. my 1hs is at 201 and ive hit for 109dmg with it so far, and made a double hit of 104/101 not bad for 1hs. I love it, and the 5ac comes in quite handy.

Since when is a 20/27 crap? Take your "uber" selves down a notch and realize that at one time a Yak was the "have to have" weapon in the game. Sure there are better 1hs out there but this is far from fine steel.

My guild had one to drop in PoJ think it was from a Guardian of Justice. So far for the people that keep saying that PoP is just for 60+ i would say i full group of 50s could do well in PoJ or PoD mobs hit hard but have low hp so as long is you have slow its easy. Plus this sword was an upgrade for me at lvl 56 sure a massive dragonclaw shard or whatever would be better but some people cannot get one of those heh they sell for around 30k on xev at most times.

Shure info about mob could be good .
I think as its not nodrop it will be a more or less common item from a common mob in PoJustice .
Calling paladins who discuss pros and contras of a PAL/SK sword dumb sounds even more dumb to me .
I have seen far worse posts on other items here .
Hehe and why a warrior wanna know where this sword drops , you wanna make a paladin twink to play a real mellee ? :)

1200ac and 1023atk is not "low end" for a paladin. That's actually a little above average for a 55-60 paladin.

First, to MagRig, 1hs IS needed, depending on the role you are playing in your group. If I am the MA/MT, I will always use a 1hs with shield. Why? First off, 1hs is invariably faster, the more you hit, the more aggro you are going to draw. Secondly, with the shield I am both adding more damage with bash and am increasing my effective AC (along with a myriad of other stats that most shields have). Lastly, if you are in a group with a cleric that knows what he's doing, he's probably casting Mark of Karn on the mob, meaning that every time you hit, you get healed for a small amount. The faster you hit, the less healing the cleric has to do.

Conversly, if I am just another party member, I will most definitely pull out my trusty Argent Protector and whack away, taking big damage over the AC and taunt factor.

Personally, I use a Massive Dragonclaw Shard for my 1hs. You can get one on Emarr for about 8-10k nowadays. 28 dam, 30 delay; and I use an Imbued Froglokhide Shield in the offhand.

I DO like the magic damage modifier that this has. Many weapons coming out looking like this with PoP. vs Poison damage, etc.

If you use MDS 28dam 30delay you do more damage then this 20dam(+3 on some mobs) 27delay .
Shure this is a nice low50 weapon , but we are talking of zones made for players lev60+ .
And at that level the 2h aviable have already AC and lots of stats and resists .
And even if you dont do the ssra mobs , NtoV is becomming more and more aviable for smaller guilds .There you will get plenty of the better 1hs .
For the aggro thing , if you arent in a guild raid where is anyway a warrior MT , you still get good aggro with 2h,proc,stun,taunt .

Ehh sounds good up to the point of the Mark of Karn thing -

MoK hp returned on a mainhand hit =
(weapon delay) / 6
It does round up, however, so you get 4hp on a 19 delay weapon (so the most efficient MoK healing comes on weapons of delay 19, 25, 31, etc).

Don't dispute me with what castersrealm says, you know their spell listings are crap. I did some extensive testing on this (I am a cleric) before they started suppressing the <10hp heal messages.

Since MoK heals are based off of weapon delay, the "I hit faster so I get healed more" is not a good premise to run under.
#MagRig, Posted: Oct 22 2002 at 11:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) PoP is a zone for lev 60up . At that stage you have farmed ToV enough to see lots of better 1h for Pal/SK rotting .

Note the complete lack of a no drop tag on the picture. This sword will not rot, no matter how uber the guild is who gets it. also notice RECOMMENDED LEVEL 50. So, any lvl 50 can buy this in the bazaar. You following me here. Yes, thats right, "UBER" guilds still like to have some plat around too, even if its just to pick up a copy of malo for their newest shaman.

One pally in my guild was using an 11/24 1hs, until I gave her an Arbiters Combine Greatsword, and she recently dinged 50. Also, as someone already pointed out, there are LOTS of lvl 60's who NEVER have set foot in NToV, or anywhere near there. After all, you can grind to 60 in Sebilis, Velks, and similar zones.

Also, my guild has been grinding in PoP, mostly in PoI, and we only have 1 level 60 in the guild. So, PoP, 60+? I don't think so.

OMG, no way! You cannot be more wrong about this!

PoP is a 60+ zone? I have hunted almost exclusively in PoJ since PoP came out (I was level 54 at the time). This zone is the easiest of all PoP 1st-Tier zones. Any player 46+ can hunt here successfully if in a decent group. I regularly group with lower level guildies here so they can get some awesome exp. Since level 56, I have solo'ed here with ease. I have no idea how you came to the conclusion that PoP is 60+, unless, of course, you never actually went there.

While this particular sword isn't as godlike compared to a few uber swords out there, it is still a very decent sword. I have hunted in ToV, and other high-end places, and have passed up on a handful of 1HS weapons that weren't much better than this, simply because I personally have not used 1hs weapons since level 40.

When this sword dropped for me (I was soloing at the time), a quick calculation revealed that it is much better than the only other 1HS weapon I own, my level 40 Wurmie.

Try to compare all the time and effort it takes to get a better 1HS with what I had to do to get this, namely just hunt casually for exp in an easy zone. This weapon fills my need for a 1HS perfectly, and it took zero effort (or PP) on my part to get it. Call me a ghetto Crusader if you want, but at least I wield weapons and wear armor I personally hunted for.

Sure, I agree that knights should be using 2H weapons, as I have since level 40. But if you must have a 1hs sword, why insult this one when it is so easy to get, and is only bested by a select few weapons that are much harder to get?

Hrm,

The assumption that level 60+ players have even set foot in ToV is rather laughable.

Just because its how you think the game progresses, doesn't make it so.

There are more things in Norrath than are covered in your philosophy.
