Well having a couple pts into hand to hand is nice for when you're without a body, or you don't use a weapon... otherwise, who cares?

Actually, I believe that all martial weapons (pitchatkas, eitchatkas, and ulaks) are hand to hand weapons, not just your fists. So the skill mod is usefull, but the item wouldn't be worth keeping into the middle levels.
