Find them by Kelethin newbie area
# Nov 25 2009 at 5:21 PM Rating: Decent
I've found a whole bunch of drakelings around 350, -515, near the druid ruins in the Kelethin newbie area. Found Pristine within a few drops.
Pristine scale

Went to GFay around kelethin, after about 5 kills I got a pristine one... now i have one happy warrior twink.
NOT Worth buying from players

I made a run to the venders in Steamfont and bought tons of these things...at 5 gold each. Paying more is just plain lazy.
i agree

i agree wit frelghra lol i mean their expensive but they are important becuz when your new u need the acuracy when i started playn after i hit around 13-14 it got hard to level so id feel bad for the newbies cuz im such a softie lol id buy them wole sets of leather armor and now its a easy chance for them to get it them selfs so id have more time for levelin lol even tho it was an acscuse from gettn away from trying to level cuz its hard at that level

Id NEVER pay 10p ever. I literally saw Pristine, normal and ruined all more then a few in stock on a lift merchant. I mean... its dumb to pay that for these. Besides, too many people fixate on one drop. Keep ALL items in mind, grab what comes by. Dont fixate on one Item. I find it best to keep them all in mind. I thought on my first toon, I did newb armor it was evil, but I was fixated on one or 2 items. now I have I think 3? with full armor.

1> just enjoy the game, play the game as just that, a game
2> keep all parts in mind, know what you need to loot.Dont loot junk, it will just weight you down, shout out to others what you dont need.
3> stop spending 2 days hunting only drakes
4> try to plan a basic level range. so you level, have fun and progress through needed items
5> ANY TIME its droppable check local merchants and even offer trades. Remember, someoen might be pulling their hair out over somehting you have and they have your drop.
6> Most that post are not new. TRY to imagine your BRAND new. they want you to explore the monsters, the range of character, and look all over hell and back for the items and learn your city and surroundings. etc. If you just go with it, its much better.

People just fixate too much, thats like buying crushbone belts. by the time all the noobs farm them, you could have already been grouped, getting xp, making friends. instead your a lvl 1, with lvl 11's handing you belts. and in the start, you were both lvl 1.

** and with all that GOOD karma, because my toon is POOR, next time a vendor has MORE then 3 for 6gp a piece ill buy them, even offering at a deal of like 5pp id be more then happy ** 200p? lol. that guy should have his head examined.

Making friends in this game is easy if you play well, and part of playing well means having the right equipment and getting up in level. Nothing wrong with buying things...and it doesn't always have to be from players. These things are sold on venders in many places for much less then a player would charge.
Lucky me

I played for a couple hours and found 3 of these near Felwithe. They seem to drop them more often near Felwithe.
Finding them
# May 11 2003 at 1:02 PM Rating: Decent
After hunting for 2 RL days around Kelethin I got frustrated & headed to Felwithe to try my luck there. I found far more drakelings around Felwithe than around Kelethin, at least 10 times more. And they seem to only come out at night (game time)around Kelethin but are out all the time aroud Felwithe. I got my scale after about 20 kills in 20 minutes.Corse I'm a ranger w/ track so it made it easier.

Frustrated

I'm trying to find this for my ranger armor. Iresis is now level 12 and still has not found one. I've tracked the darn things all over the forest and still haven't found ONE. Bazaar is empty of them as well as auctioning for them. This is the most frustrating drop! I gave up when my Chanter was young but I'm determined to get Iresis her full armor! I'll probably be 50 and still not have the tunic. *stops venting*
Newbie Armor
# Jan 21 2003 at 7:49 PM Rating: Default
This item is needed for every Kaladim and Kelethin Newbie Armor chest piece. They go for 10pp on Vazaelle for that reason and that they are so dang rare. It's not hard to find Forest Drakelings, it's getting the Pristine Scale to drop thats the trick. I got lucky with the Elf Warrior cause it dropped on the first Drakeling I killed, but all the others it took a long time. Usually if one drops while I'm traipsing through GFay (I kill Drakelings for revenge now) I find a newbie and give it to him. Maybe he'll remember me later when I need a hand.
Greedy, evil people...

I bought two of these for 10p each, and I'm thinking I'm going to have to buy another on my cleric (I need two. I got one on my first try).

200p is insane. That's just beyond right. That dude never sold it, I am sure.

10pp is plenty for these.

Good grief, that's just silly. For 200 pp you can just buy a better chest piece in the Bazaar. I've seen people selling the scales for 20-30pp, never more than that. Honestly, I wouldn't even pay that much for one. Forest drakelings aren't hard to kill, it's only the rarity of the drop driving this price up. You might try making a ranger alt and using that character to get a scale (much easier to find the drakelings with track), then transfer it to your paladin. Better yet, find a friendly ranger to help you find one. Good luck in your search.
