I received this last weekend. It dropped off of the ancient dragons at the bottom of Sleepers Tomb. There are 4 ancient dragons. This dropped off of the second. Forget the dragons name but he has a nasty 1000 DD AOE that is unresistable (at least nobody in our raid resisted it).

Good Luck

I have this item and was actually the first on my server to get it. Although it doesn't have any STA, 100hp is still nice. When I'm xping and there's no shammy in the group I use my Thurg quest BP for the 10 STA and Crustacean legs for the 16 STA. If there's a shammy in the group (for boar or brute) I put on the CCoT and Thurg legs.

I am 65 but with no Planar Power yet so my cap is 280. I can get 280 with CCoT and Champion's greaves and a shammy buff. There are so many items that will give you STA and you can cap it to 305 later no problem if you get them. With the Thurg BP and Crusty legs and stats food, I'm able to get 255 STA atm.

Currently I use GoDS for haste but before that, I had to always wear the CCoT for the haste it gave.

Let me get this straight. You have several excellent breastplates and you wear crustacean leg plates for solo xping?!? Uh huh. I restarted with a brand new character, no money , no equipment and had crustaceans by level 20 or so. You expect us to believe you couldn't come up with something better than greaves that sell for a 100 platinum in the bazaar.

Maybe he can't afford anything better? Not everyone has the best gear. I've seen high levels with all elemental gear still wearing a geode ring or a batskull earring, just because they have nothing to replace it with. Not everyone has uber amounts of pp.

39% Haste
# Sep 30 2002 at 8:51 AM Rating: Default
Magelo liste the haste at 39%. I was using a Windraider's Belt(40%) and I have not noticed any difference at all. I can't see any difference parsing logs as well.

The Windraider's Belt I was using didn't have any hit points on it, and this was my biggest reason for rolling on Clawed Coat of Tyro. 100hp haste items are pretty rare, so I'm going to build around this. Has the same graphic as a Fungi Tunic.

Anyone know percentage of haste on this fine piece of armor.

Who cares what the haste is on this... The stats alone are enough to make anyone envious. The extra 100 hp is the clincher. When you get high enough lvl to get this item, the only thing that will matter at this point is the HP anyway. Considering that HP is the only stat that is uncapped. Everything else has a cap. You will probably already have a 41% haste item by then anyway. The stats make a low lvl's eyes gleam, but to anyone of lvl to get this the stats really won't make much difference at that point The resists are nice too. That is just my 2cp
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 18 2003 at 9:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually, at this level, the stats aren't anything to shout home about... Mind you, they're not bad at all, but they're not jaw-dropping either. A bit better than Velious quested armor, so in the mid-50s range. But the haste on this is very high, and that could well make it worthwhile if you don't already have better.
#strikerty, Posted: Oct 05 2002 at 4:09 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually, I play High End, I don't give a rat's @$$ about haste. Let the warrior's worry about hitpoints, Hitpoints are only good for ONE thing. and that is COMPLETE HEAL EFFICENCY...that's all. You get more HP so CH's are more worth thier buck, that is it. Beside's that, Hp don't mean squat
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 27 2002 at 11:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Finally! Someone else that's smart enough to know that the hps are the thing!

If you can get into sleepers you can kill Vindi...Vindi BP has 100hp and 15 stam on it. You lose 7ac (breastplate of vindication being 45 as opposed to 52) but the Vindi BP has 15 to all resists instead of 12.

If you can kill in ST you can also acquire a breastplate of eradication. Fine piece of 55ac armor with 100hp. If my memory serves correctly it's lacking the saves that this and the Vindi BP so ably provide.

This is definately a nice breastplate for all classes that can use it. 100hp and nice resists are by no means something to sneeze at. The haste is just the icing on the cake. Definately one of the better ST drops.

EDIT: Vindi Bp also has Aura of Battle on it..and worn aura of battles do stack with each other and a single clicked AoB. My shield and the BP stack so I can verify this from personal experience. AoB is nothing to sneeze at either, free attack buffs are nice to have. And yes, hit points > everything else later in the game. I totally agree on that point.

Yes, HP is the most important thing here, but to not care about the haste on this is just foolish. If you are tweaking your gear to have the highest hitpoints possible, then its valuable info to know that the haste on this is equal to or greater than what you are useing as a haste item, because chances are theres another item out there for that slot without haste that has more HP on it. If this is 41% haste, or 36% for that matter, you can ditch the CoF and easily get a back item with more than 50 HP, so I suggest you pay attention to the haste if you are so worried about your total HPs.

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 28 2002 at 11:11 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Mythla, What I said was by the time you are able to get this you should have better haste item. Say another nice 41% haste NO DROP item. What I am really getting at is this. At this point in the game who cares about the haste because by now you (the player) should have better for haste than 36% so it will not matter what the haste is because item haste does NOT stack. AC really won't matter much, neither will most of the stats. What matters most here is HP. Most players 58+ would give their eye teeth to get the added HP, and not give even a second thought to the ammount of haste because of the ammount of haste would be more on a different item in their inventory or on their person. Like I said in my first post who cares about the haste at this point. But I do understand what you are saying. Make sure you do not loose that 5% haste by trading this out with an item that has 41% to loose 5% haste for a few HP. Which may at this point be nominal. But what other BP would you trade it out for that even has haste on it. I would hope if you have a Breastplate of Speed that you wouldn't throw it to the curb for this. So your point actually becomes null and void. I am not trying to flame you. I am merely stating that anyone that get's this, will not really care about the haste it has in the first place, because as mentioned before and we all know by now (at least I hope we do) haste items don't stack. And they should have some other item that has better haste. Sorry if I sounded like I was flaming you or anyone else, I am merely trying to keep the haste arguments out of this.

What Mythla was saying was that most haste items don't have that much HP so if you get this BP you can replace your other haste item with something that has more HP's. Try reading and if need get a dictionary so you can understand what is being said.

not entirely true... a lot of people at this point in the game don't even have 36 or better... I have 36 atm though it would be nice it's not incredibly urgent to get a 41... and there aren't that many things that have 41% haste that are aquirable at 60... my guild does stuff in ntov, but drops there with haste aren't that common... and considering how many guilds race to do certain mobs, it's ridiculous to assume that people have better than this at 60. Even the best haste belt in the game for a warrior, which is the air quest one I beleive has a max of 5 people on a server with it... just saying this stuff isn't that common except among people that have been playing the game since release or a little after or have too much time on their hands ;)

to bring everyones posts to a hopful close here. not everyone will have/should have better than 36% haste, maybe they dont really care about having that much haste, after all haste cap can only be broken by a bard which will ALWAYS be the same haste. once you hit haste cap thats it. you can have a 51% haste item and with the spell buffs it will still stop at cap. only a bard can increase it and it will only increase it by 5% or 10% or so from the cap. so it really doesnt matter how fast your haste is, UNLESS you solo and dont have the option of a pocket chanter to give you the bonus to haste. for any class HPs are king (or god if you prefer) only warriors and those that will be MT need ac as well as hp but even with high ac you will still get hit for max at times, again HP are all you need. as for stats, yes they are decent but not the end all of why this is a good bp. stats only benefit you when you do not have the luxury of buffs. resists come second to hp in that again unless you are MT and fighting AE mobs better to resist(or partial resist) than to take full dmg everytime, and all the stats in the world wont save you like hp and resists. i know this is long but it will hopfully be seen and taken to heart as this is the truth (and can be proven). stats arent as important after all that is what shamans are for on raids besides slows malo etc etc.
