Very nice item the stats are great would be great on any class.

Although ID3 should make it go to a wizard as the other ID3 items are not really that great and u lose alot of stats in order to get the focus effect, but with this, u can keep nice items and still have the focus effect.

Grats to anyone who gets it.

This has Chanter written all over it with the 10 int 10 char 50 hps 50 mana and saves. I think it is a good item for all classes, but I think a chanter would get the most use outta it and sec would be a Wizzie and 3rd on my list would be a mage. But thats just me

Edit: Sorry it has 40 hps 40 mana :)

Nah.. I am an enchanter, and would like to see this go to Wizard or Magician before it ever went to me.

Although the stats would help all the classes listed, and the CHA would REALLY help an enchanter, the focus effect is the thing that will make the difference, and can make a difference in battles.

And improved damage III would really help a chanter...?

Sorry. There are many other places where a chanter can max out int and cha fairly easily. Improved damage III on a wizard? Priceless
Focus effect

A focus on a item is like a proc on the weapon. Various Focuses do various click on the effect to see what they do. The go off when you cast a spell related to them Affliction is DOTs Damage is DDs and Enchantements are just that. The focuses effect only to a certain level. I is to level 20, II is to level 44, and III is to level 55 IIRC.

Level 3 goes all the way to level 60. I forget if this one is +10% or +25%, but in general you get one or the other. General abilities (like Mana preservation and extended range) are 10%, specific ones (like summoning efficency which only affects summoning spells) are 25%. Damage is a specific effect but...damage is what EVERYONE wants, right?

edit: forgot to mention, focus effects are not like proc, the are constant modifiers. So, if this adds 10% to your DD spells, it dose it to every DD you cast that dosen't contain another type of spell as a component.

Improved Damage is a 20% damage modifier. It also works with DD-based procs. The only DD-type spells this doesn't work with are Bane nukes and AE nukes. This does work with spells that feature other components, such as Ignite Bones (illusion: skeleton and a 0 second stun for interrupting spells) and lifetaps.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 27 2002 at 5:48 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) whats a "focus effect" ??
RE: effect

The focus effects are rather new. They improve spellcasting ability.

There are quite a few different effects and they all range from rating one to three. The "Improved Damage" focus ability for example, increases the damage output of Direct Damage spells.

With the rating three above, it means that a wizard would love this item as all his nukes would be hitting for a really noteworthy amount of extra damage.
