So after my 11th pickup raid with Ayonae's Dragonslayers I FINALLY win a lotto, and its these gloves. At this point in time I'm pretty happy and its hard to find gloves with these stats if you're not in a high raiding guild. You can keep your SCHW, these are mine :)
I wouldn't mind a pair of these to replace my Gnome Skin gloves.... Nice AC, and with the dual Trance Sticks I'm usually swinging, I don't mind the extra Dex one bit, either :)
Considering that my guild's working up a raid on the ol' Nag tonight (if he pops on-time and some earlybird 6am guild doesn't beat us to him), maybe I'll get lucky. Hope my dice are hot tonight, heheheh.
yeah they seem to be pretty common off rage (they've dropped all 4 times I've done him in my time and twice there were 2 of them on the corpse). so i'm guessing they are a common drop. --Athenya Stargazer 59th Preserver of the mother, Tunare
Was in a pickup raid on rodcet nife, and we took down naggy. had 7 groups. Only needed about 20 rezzes (hehe). 3 of these dropped and one of those weight reducing bags. Nothing they'd even let the clerics in on for a roll :(
mmmmm... dese are sum nice mittens. i've seen better fer us warriors, but i still wouldn't moind havin a pair. oh yeah, Multani, dese mittens is a lot nicer dan dem gaunts of black ye're wearin. but i agree... not worth 19k Bulvar Biggins Dwarven Warrior

Posted:Jan 29 2002 at 5:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) these are very nice monk gaunts. i wouldn't take these over CF's (obviously) but if u can manage to get yur hands on these b4 55+ (when you'd usually get epics) they great!
1) you are an idiot these gaunts are nowhere near as good as CF's (monk epic) 2) your profile is fake, notice your BP is a gm issued bp, right click "guide health" thx newb, and if you're gunna fake that **** at least make your monk better i don't know anyone who has tov loot and uses bracelet of quickness/might, thx 3) your keyring is stupid as hell, you don't even have sebilis key, and if you wanna look uber put a vex thal key in there, thx next time research your **** before you try to act cool.
You call this person an "idiot" and demonstrate even if so, s/he is not alone. Katris says very unoffensively these are "very nice for a monk" and then goes on to say s/he would "not take them over CF's (obviously)". S/he doesn't say they are anywhere near as good, yet you flame on and publicly call him names and throw in, offensive to many, expleatives. After your own seemingly inability to read you rant on and on off topic about his profile. If a sysadmin falls in the forest do any users care? Of course not, after all they are "users". But trees burn very well. Anyway, many a growing monk can find themselves in a situation of having upgraded their haste from SCHWs and being in a pre CF predicament in the hand slot due to the limited availability of dropable light weight items with stats as good or better than SCHW's. So many come here looking at gloves like these, and opinions of others to help them make descisions.
Got lucky on a Naggy raid and won a roll on these... But I'm hard pressed for cash these days and I'm thinking of parting with them if a monk names the right price... =)
Send tells to Kandaael if interested, on Vazaelle server.
I got a pair of these for my monk on a recent GM Event In DL - Lady Draconis was there shouting that she needed help slaying a droagon, then it popped.. I took a picture about 60+ corpses all over the place, but then she was summonig people to her giving them gifts or what.. antwho I was happy.. A nice step up from Gem Inlaid gaunts
I was just wondering if anyone could explain why these are such good gauntlets? I just bought Gauntlets of the Black for 550pp - these go for (if the post is anywhere close) 19kpp. Gauntlets of the Black have 5 more armor class than these but it doesn't have quite the stats. I'm not so sure that I would drop 5ac on my Pally for these gloves, even if I had 19k burning a hole in my pocket. Anyway I was just wondering why these are such great things to have... is it simply the rarity?
You got these for 550pp? That's Five Hundred and Fifty platinum pieces?!!?
If you're on Tarew Marr, could you please send me a tell? I'll give ya 600 plats and let you turn a nice 50pp profit. Heck, I'll even throw in a few High Quality Cat Pelts for free cause I'm such a nice guy. :-)
he bought gaunts of the black for 550pp and stated that the gaunts went for 19kpp. :) these were mainly meant for monks but any other classes who is lucky enough to get one should go flaunt it around also :)
last night on the Drinal Server Naggy was taken down by an overkill number of 50 people. I would Like to say that it was my first raid, and a lot of fun.
2 Scales, 2 Gaunts and 1 CoF dropped.
I won 1 pair of the gaunts, and they now replace my Darkmail 8)

Prior to the existence of the monk epic (Celestial Fists), I would have said that this is definitely a monk item, BUT now that we have CF's, I have to say that argument has been weakened. I am not saying it should NEVER go to a monk, but it is no longer the ultimate monk gloves. Odds are that by the time you get a pair of these you will almost have your epic.
CF's aren't the Ultimate Monk gloves anymore, either- there are plenty of high AC, high stat gaunt's available in Velious.
I'd take Gauntlets of Dragonslaying and dual weild priceless and primal hammers, and get a chanter buff to reach the haste cap, for most situations.
I'm a 54 Disciple on a newer server, and you can bet your butt I'll be rolling on these in the meantime- if Naggy or Sev would ever cough them up, that is.
I am two fights from my epic (YOU WILL NOT EVADE ME, XENOVORASH) and must say I would not trade my epic for the Rubber Glove of Veeshan Proctology, or any other crazee ToV dropped gloves out there... you just can't beat the sweet clicky on them, and clicking is fun to boot.
CFs are a very nice pair of gloves as is, and the effect makes them one of the best epics.
I have YET to see a monk who no longer wears his. Heck, I don't think monks even get consideration for higher level glove drops.

These are usually for Monks and Rogues to roll on. The other classes get better, easier. Please don’t even argue this if you are pre 50. These boards are always filled with newbies arguing over loot they wont even see for a LONG time.

I have never played a monk so I dont realy know can some one fill me in plz. monk guants my foot, they are great for all the classes that can wear them, come on look at those stats, try not to drool )
Monks are concerened with weight because no matter what their strength is, they have a weight cap that even at lvl 60 does not exceed 20 stone.
Oh sure they can cary more but their AC drops like nobody's business for every stone over their cap. This is a very major issue for monks and limits the equipment that they can use effectively.
Kexel Spineweaver Monk of the 27th Fist Saryrn Server
Actually at level 60, the max is 24 stones. It goes up 1 stone for every 15 levels till you get over 51 then you get a slight additional bonus. Here's the table.
Actually from lv55 up you can carry 25 stone without losing any AC. I've yet to test this since im not quite 55, but give me a little bit and I'll report back. I've talked to many 55+ monks and they say at 55 you can carry 25 stone, so thats what Im going by atm.

I mean, let's be honest, how much nice armor do rangers get regardless of weight? The stats are excellent for a rogue or warrior as well...

Posted:May 15 2001 at 7:18 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I don't think a warrior should be able to role on these (maybe not even SK/Pally).
i'm in agreement also. if you say paladins get better items your right but i play to paladins and both have the same problem..weight! we have low str to start with so these would help us alot as well as any class that can use them for the reason of... str ups how much you hit for along with how good you are with useing the type of weapon, your offence. (say in these instinces: 96 str, 110 in 1hs, 110 offence, 15 dmg weapon = about 530 attack rateing.) its true becuase my paladin is only level 24 and has: 96 str, 110 in 1hs, 110 offence, 15 dmg weapon(GB) and has attack for over 530.
I agree...and I play a monk. On dragon loot the only pieces that should even be CONSIDERED to be monk only rolling on are the bags. (since other classes can use normal backpacks or an EE bag or something...and the not every monk under the sun can afford a tink bag)
I personally would love to have these gaunts for my monk. I've lost the roll on them each time I have seen them dropped dropped, but I have been happy for the person that won, and I continue to wear my treant fists. This isn't a monk only item.
A good amount of all/all or multi class useable stuff is and should be monk only rolling, but this is definately not one of those things, due solely to the work involved in killing one of these things. (all dragon loot is low weight anyhow)
Besides not every warrior has a pair of cobolt gloves, and these are a nice pair of gloves for ANY of the classes listed to go kill Trakanon or something like that
And I, as a rogue was pissed last night that I wasn't given a chance to roll on these gauntlets. Only the monks were. As far as I am concerned these are better then Woven Shadow from Hate and I would love to have a pair.
