For the record, NOBODY can do any epics anymore PRE 51.... some may be able to obtain some pieces, but turn ins and chats with NPC's cannot happen pre 51 anymore. this is my 3rd attemp at cleric epic, so i figure i can let ya'all in on what i found out....

Ok, any help here would be appreciated. Twice now I have started this epic. I have patiently waited for Lord bergurgle to spawn, which takes forever. Twice he has spawned and I have killed him and taken his crown to npc that turns into spirit of flame. Twice now he as died and his corpse vanishes before I can loot the damaged crown.. I have spent a ton of time on this getting bergurgle to spawn. What am I doing wrong? Why does spirit of flame corpse vanish as soon as dead?

You can also kill Shmendrik Lavawalker have The Spirit of Flame spawn kill it loot the Damaged Goblin Crown, then go and camp Lord Bergurgle for his Crown.
By the time you return Shmendrik Lavawalker will probably have respawned (he is on a 3 hour timer).
Do the turn in and it does not matter if you or Natasha Whitewater kill the Spirit of Flame.
Give her the Damaged Goblin Crown and you are a step closer to your goal.

Because you are letting Natasha hit the spirit. Move Natasha away from the spawn point, then root her and Atone until she is indifferent, then spawn the spirit of flame.
If an npc does the last hit, or does the most damage during a fight, they get the kill, and the corpse poofs.

Recently completed Cleric epic at level 39.. took a few weeks to do, I did not Hail Warder Cecelia in Skyfire I just handed in my Assembled Shard and spawned Ragefire. Had no problems completing epic quest early, MQed the Chardok Piece, but have gotten dozens of people ask me how I have epic at 45, I've seen a level 1 Cleric with their epic at the main bank in PoK.

I just want to pop in and try and Kill all the rumors that spread around like wildfire in EQ. You CAN do this epic before 50. I just completed this on my 43 Cleric and did everything himself except for the turnin of the goblin king helmet simply because it was easier for my warrior to kill bergurgle, loot the crown turnin and kill the elemental and loot that damaged crown with my cleric. I have screenshots of the last stages of the quest showing all the items and the inventory screen open as i go through the turnin and recieve the epic. So you CAN get it pre 50. at 43 though you can NOT use the res effect, I've been told it is 46 to use effect, and this would fit with the effect for most other Kunark Era items. Edit, I'm now 48, Still can't use the effect so it probably is true that you can't use it to res until 50. Oh well. Exp goes fast in PoV when you are late 40's ;-)

Just as a helper for all you clerics out there we took this mob down with 1 group of 6. Group was all 65 + consisting of a druid, Beastlord, 2 sk's, mage and rogue. The SK invised down targeted mob then green pet pulled the king right to our group upstairs. Once we got him to us it was easy taking him down. Not one heal was blasted on this. I hope this helps you as I have seen 2 raids wipe on this mob and was astounded at how easily we did this with one group. Good Luck, hope this information helps you out.

I finally got mine after 4 years of off and on playing....I'm not in an UBER GUILD...we just a laid back family guild.Most of the mobs are easy and can be done with 1 group of 65+.If your like me however youll play it safe and take a minimum of 12 with you.I personally didnt want to start over so i made sure i always had enough people.GL to all you other clerics out there going for this.I know with all teh new gear this might not seem worth it but it's more of a status symbol....one that shows you and your guild are willing to go the distance for each other.after all my guild is the reason i got mine.

Congrats on your epic.
Its not just a status symbol. I'm in a raid guild that is doing GoD/OOW raids, and while most of the clerics have better weapons for normal wear, they all keep their clicky sticks on hand for rezzes. In fact, click sticks are requirements for most raid guilds.

I must have gotten lucky! Camped him for Cleric alt and he popped within and hour.
Kind of vague considering this is the item page, not the page for whatever mob you got lucky on. Congrats though!

What level can you click it ? I have mine, im level 49, i cant click it WTG SOE.
I think the quest was overall easy the spawn times on some of the mos are a PITA but overall not too bad

wat lvl needed to start dis?
I think you can start it at level 1.
Most epics you must be level 50 to do.
Technically you can start at level 1, if you're referring to gathering some of the items that'll be needed. A level 1 Bard could start by buying the white and red dragon scales, or having someone let him loot the drake drops needed for their epic.

Does anybody know if this quest has been nerfed due to the OoW expansion? I have been camping Lord Bergurgle for 3 days now with no spawn. I have read that he spawns near the DE Deep inside the tower on the top floor...but once when I went there...Deep was inside a wall...and the other 2 times Deep has been outside the tower. Any info will be appreciated.

I've camped the Lord in Lake Rathetears after OoW and its not bugged. But still I've needed 40hours or so to spwan the Lord.
To Deep: I have attacked her (stupid like I am), so she followed me on my escape. After that (my Death), she was standing in the tunnel (where she killed me), so if she is on another place than she shoud be it could be cause by something like that.

The spawn cycle on Lord Bergurgle is completely random. I had alot of trouble also with his spawning. What I did was park a tracker on the island above the underwater castle and I would check in every now and then and track to see if Lord Bergurgle was up. He was one time and I logged my cleric and soloed the camp.

I have helped a few of the clerics in my guild with this in the last couple weeks. Something I have learned that might help... Swim to the very top of the tower facing west. On the floor below (which is the top floor of the tower) you will see two treasure chests, and perhaps some goblins. The deepwater goblin that spawns in the middle of the wall you see while facing west is the PH... It is the ONLY mob you need to kill, and there are no fancy things that will speed the process up.
If no goblin is there, and after about 30 minutes one does not pop, then someone has pulled the goblins to the surface to fight them or in an attempt to run away. You must now swim out of the caves, and using the in game map swim to the bottom of the lake (above the cave system) until you are exactly above the underwater tower. The three lost goblins are there. To make life easier, simply kill the middle one and leave the other two. Return to the tower, and now only the PH or Lord Bergurgle himself will pop at the top of the tower and all you need is patience. I have done this 4 times now and it has worked every time-- without doing anything but killing the PH. Good luck

in reference to Cleric of Brells post on Lord Bert - this is by far the most complete and accurate of what I went through no more than 2 months ago as a lev 67 completing up my 1.0. I spent about 12 hours trying to get Bert to spawn. The only difference is I cleared the other mobs first so as not to get adds during the fight. Bert will spawn in the middle where the PH was. I then pulled bert off the tower and onto the sea floor for the fight away form any adds - made life easier......
Also - even at lev 67 - had trouble getting through all the spiders in Sol B to spawn Zordrak....get some help here..... only takes a couple of good dps to get you there...you can then camp on the lava ledge on same side of lava river that Zordrak spawns at.

Clarification - the 12 hours to get Bert to spawn was because first, I tried to follow many of the posts thinking oh some of the goblins haas been pulled to the top and unless I kill them all - Bert won't spawn - TOTALLY wrong.....I also logged in and out a couple of time....Once I actually did the trick that clericoBrell is talking about of just clearing the mobs at top of tower - specifically the ph - it only took about an hour to get Bert to pop for me.... about4 cycles of the PH respawn

Nope has not been dumped did it yesterday and he popped afer about 20 min , on top of tower :)

Did it today with my cleric...not nerfed / altered at all.
I also tried it for days. It does pop but I surgest you hail the next mob (mage by the water) first with your cleric. when i did that it seemed to pop quicker. When i hailed with my druid it seemed to pop the druid one ?? This may be just coinsedence but it poped after i hailed.

Does anyone know if the Shard drops in SF are MQ able? I got one and have a friend who is going to start his epic, and I hope to be able to help him.
actually, i think the drop rate has decreased... during my 3 week hunt in skyfire alone i probably killed 500 or so mobs, but most of the time i was there i had help... one day alone i spent 6 hours in skyfire with a 70 necro who was pullin like mad and only got one fragment to drop... and yes, they are FRAGMENTS.. you will not see a shard in skyfire. :)

Definitely not MQable, the shards must be combined in a no drop container to create another turn in item. Just got my 4th shard after 60 hours of work, most of it solo, which slowed things down a bit. I don't think the drop rate has been increased at all.

I've just started my epic 1.0. So far it seems the same, but I am just beginning it. We'll see what time tells. Using the order shown here in Allakhazam, I am up to the Plasmatic Priest portion.
Was helping my best friend get his fragments in skyfire. After reading some horrifing posts on them being really rare and sometimes not i was not looking forward to it. We fought at the druid port in pulling everything around there. Including the Chromadrac mobs. Took about 5 hours total to obtain 3 and got the 4th one off of a ooc in the zone of one rotting. So it ended up not being to bad to go and do. Of the three that dropped for us 1 was off of a bottomless gnawler. one from a Chromadrac. the 3rd one was from a regular drake. Be prepared to fight unbuffed also when doing this. the Chromadrac dispells buffs from you and in one fight would do so several times. This was the only frustrating part of this hunt. Finally just stopped buffing and had one person a 59 pally pull and tank everything but the Chromadrac. While i pulled those on my tank 54 warrior and took them out with my druid as healer the cleric as healer on the pally and enchanter for slow and haste. It ended up working well this way. Now on to ixilbat fer lol.

just got all 4 pearl fragments, took a total time of just under 2 hours with the help of 5 people. 3 grp'd with me and 2 out just killing by themselves. 2 fragments dropped for me between the wizzy and druid ports just out of the burning woods zone ent, and the other two dropped pretty near the overthere zone ent. i dont know if its nerfed or not but to me it seems like the drop rate has increased since the oow expansion came about.

I was there with a group trying to farm cleric spells. I did not even know about the shards untill some one told me but i got all in only a few hours with a group of 4
I don't think they nerfed it... But I was told it was a 1% drop off any mob in skyfire. My luck was with me when I did mine. I went out and camped pearl shards for my cleric for 2 hours and nothing dropped at all. Next night I hunted towards the woods zone out from sky and got all 4 in the same night within about a 4 to 5 hour camp. Everyone said I was so very lucky but thats what my story is. I'm not really up to that part on the epic (Basicall just started with rathe and lord in sol) but wanted to get the shards out of the way because everyone said it was a complete nightmare for some... So I didn't want to wait around to see so I camped the shards in hopes of at least getting 2 until it was time to get the others for that part of the quest!

There is a rumor that has been floating around for a few years that the "mature" mobs (and one of the spermie types)drop the pearls more often than the rest. Take it with a grain of salt but I got ALL of my pearlescent fragments from mature mobs.

Hey I know for a Fact they didnt nerf this got all four of mine in like 6 hours or so. Kinda helped I had about 10 other people helping me but under the right conditions they drop fairly fast.
well over 50 hours of camping, and alot of that was 2 groups AEing as much of the zone as we could pull.
I am a 59th lvl cleric on the nameless server and I have got over 60 hours in Skyfire hunting the shards and I can't seem to get them to drop. Has anyone else had trouble here recently? I am so bummed. I need my epic very badly but can't seem to get the shards to drop. I have 2 from a LONG time ago so I only need 2 more. Have they been nerfed?

I have Lord Gimlox's ring, im a pally so it little use to me, however i have a cleric friend. If she completes first orb, am i able to hand in the ring to begin the 2nd orb quest? if so, it would mean i am given the 'Message to Natasha' so, if i hand that in at the end of orb 2 quest, and cleric hands in the sceptre and scroll afterwards, will she get given the orb?

I sure wish the enchanter epic was like this. I have been waiting on the Essence of Vampire from Plane of Hate since May 2003. Here it is near the end of December and I still haven't gotten the EoV. I have sent petitions, feedbacks, and bug reports. All I need for the chanter epic is the Essence of Vampire and the Essence of a Ghost (The Hole) and I will have my epic. Chanter epics can't be MQed. :(((
Essence of Vampire still drops. We got one for one of our chanters the last time we raided hate. Also, just because the cleric epic CAN be MQed, doesn't mean you'll see it for sale.
I don't think for sale is the point of MQ.. means its easier to complete because other people could have looted the items you needed, I know I have let EoV rot in PoHate before and after revamp..
I have confirmed that the final 3 orbs CAN be MQ'ed. To "transfer" the epic work from one person to another all that person needs to do is loot Ixiblat's sceptre or the singed scroll.
MQ the sceptre/scroll off the person already doing the epic to the new person wanting to receive it. This results in the new person getting the 2nd orb. The original person must still complete the rest of the quest resulting in them getting orb 1 and 3.
Upon final turn-in original quester turns in orbs 1 and 3, and the new person then turns in orb 2 and gets the final orb.
I would assume any other process in which you could get 1 of the 3 orbs on another person would allow the epic to be transferred to them the same way.
Its a great way for friends to help other friends make faster progress on this epic.

Was absolutely amazed how fast it went having six Level 65 characters helping you farm shards.
We went to left side of VP entrance and started pulling 5 to 8 mobs at a time... got all the shards within ~ 3 hours.
Took only about 8 people to take out rage and even then, the Druid became the main healer since the 65 and 45 clerics were feared.
WARNING: When doing final turn in, (I was bound there) I had forgot to loot the other 2 turn in pieces on my corpse. Had to take a rez, loot from corpse where I had duel'd my friend so they could rez me back. (cheaper than burning FoB gate potion) and just as I ran to the mob on the beach, he despawned. (I panic'd petitioned then thought what if I hail the main epic turn in guy up on the ramp? Hailed him, he said they'd been waiting for me, mob popped on beach I turned in the 3 items, recieved the 1 back and then it took forever for the Water spirit to glide across water, glide along beach and final stop for turn in. Was rez'd back to SF with 30 seconds left on the rez timer and got 2 blue of exp from turn in.

i didnt think that triggered effects could have recast delays, but i found out today that mod rods do. does this have one as well?

I just finished my epic tonight. And saw how efficently a bard can SOLO A DRAGON. Tonight I saw a Steps, a lvl 65 bard from Elelmental Dawn on Karana server get him down to 50% with no help. Once at 50% a 65 warrior, another 65 cleric Cewbacawa and my self a 55 cleric finished him off. 4 Of us did it. I was amazed. Thanks again to Cewbacawa and Steps, you guys are great.

. I got epic with my cleric at lvl 45. YES 45 
. Took a total of 6 hours playing time. Hardest part was getting shards. Just got 4 wizards, a chanter, and a bard to pull. AE'd all of SF and got all 4 shards in 3 hours. Here are some PICS for the sceptics out there, one wielding it and one when I got it. Enjoy.

shhhhhhhhhh....people can hear you, and p.s. how do those pics prove you did it in six hours!? which is the only point of contention here. lol, a level 1 cleric can get freakin' epic if he has a main toon in a good guild who babysit him through the drops. looky, i'm level 45 and have my epic...BFD! you did not do it in 6 hours, lol! please think first, thank you.

Hello again,
As you can see I do not post a lot, this is my second post here. I did my original post just to prove that the cleric epic could be done by a level 45 cleric. Little did I know of the luck that I would have doing this epic. Maybe I set some kind of a record but you my should not call me a liar, because I am not. I did the cleric epic in under 6 hours of total playing time on my cleric.

I didn’t screen shoot those. Sorry, I didn’t think to do it. All the named camps I ran cleric in, camped, spawned named and killed with my sk, camped, logged on cleric and looted item. Chardok was a joke. got a friend with an ally mage to summon us all to the hall right by king, our rogue opened the doors
, that part took like 30min max. We didn’t even have a full group just 5 people.
So my sceptic friend yes the stars were aligned, yes I won the lottery, yes I have mad skill, I HAVE WON THE EVERQUEST!!! Sorry it is taking you so long to get your epic, but
frustration on your part does not equal lies on my part . Yes I will be the first to admit it I was lucky as hell, ragefire was up when I went there to check on him in naggy liar, and not to mention not one spawn took me more than an hour with my SK to get the named to spawn. Yeah there is some time I played my SK that I didn’t include in the total playing time, but that time was not on my cleric. I never thought I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would finish this epic so quickly, but my friend I did. 
PS Maybe Verant did smiled on me because it took me almost a year to do SK epic. That’s when it was the boss sword BTW.

As you can see I do not post a lot, this is my second post here. I did my original post just to prove that the cleric epic could be done by a level 45 cleric. Little did I know of the luck that I would have doing this epic. Maybe I set some kind of a record but you my should not call me a liar, because I am not. I did the cleric epic in under 6 hours of total playing time on my cleric.
When I started cleric epic I typed /played
14 days 7 hours 53 min
When I got epic I typed /played
14 days 23 hours 58 min
I didn’t screen shoot those. Sorry, I didn’t think to do it. All the named camps I ran cleric in, camped, spawned named and killed with my sk, camped, logged on cleric and looted item. Chardok was a joke. got a friend with an ally mage to summon us all to the hall right by king, our rogue opened the doors
, that part took like 30min max. We didn’t even have a full group just 5 people. So my sceptic friend yes the stars were aligned, yes I won the lottery, yes I have mad skill, I HAVE WON THE EVERQUEST!!! Sorry it is taking you so long to get your epic, but
frustration on your part does not equal lies on my part . Yes I will be the first to admit it I was lucky as hell, ragefire was up when I went there to check on him in naggy liar, and not to mention not one spawn took me more than an hour with my SK to get the named to spawn. Yeah there is some time I played my SK that I didn’t include in the total playing time, but that time was not on my cleric. I never thought I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would finish this epic so quickly, but my friend I did.

Cleric Epic at 42: (feel rree to jumble up sequences below but,
1. Friend is 65 Ranger, I am 42 cleric with only /played of 4 days. He lev's / sows me and we run to Lake Rathe. Bergurgle is camped. He has me bind on the island above tunnel and he camps. I run back and do a BB adventure with his 40 bard. We get done adventure he camps to ranger, Bergurgle's up, I gate, swim in, (Lodi shield on back) and loot crown.
2. We run to crown turn in mob, it is not up. Again I bind and he logs to his 65 enchie and I run and meet him at Sol A. We go into camp and 2 or 3 rounds later, Gimblox still doesn't pop but LR mob does and he moves his 65 enchie to Chardok to do 3 planned take downs of King. I 2 box his 65 ranger in LR, do turn in, takes while for mob to get whacked... MADE HUGE MISTAKE... post on eq.crgaming.com says to root Natasha so she won't get killing blow on Spirit of Flame. Ended up it doesn't really matter because it appears Spirit of Flame is non-move mob and wouldn't let me pull away from her. Ranger gets killing blow now Natasha is wailing on ranger and cleric can't do turn-in. In my infinite wisdom I /q the Ranger. Ranger beats the living crap out of Natasha and she starts heading towards Bergurgle spawn. Fortunately when she is 5% ranger stops at water and I do turn-in 300 feet out from sure and turn in the damaged goblin crown for the 1st Ornate Sea Shell.
3. Instead of going to TD, ran Ranger and Cleric to Sol-A, while 1st King cycle was happening. Logged cleric in Gimblox area and started running my 65 SK to Chardok. In Chardok less than 2 mins. and Gimblox pops. Camp SK, login Cleric and gate to BB adventure camp.
4. If you don't have GD, Swamp or Field of Bone Gate potions, MAKE CORPSES! -- Nobody in BB camp would fight me so I ran over and attacked the girl dwarf at outpost close by and died. Ran over and died again. Looted Ornate Sea Shell, J-boots and gear. BB teleporter to TD was not there... YAY boats working /hurl! Lil boat takes off 15 mins. later, 20 mins. from that I zone into TD and 3 mins after zoning into TD, when I am waiting for lil' skiff to move, it does... right out from under me and keeps going and I end up back in BB... GRRR... Gate to BB, magus to South ro to Oasis to TD via Mukskimmer. Mage is on shore, rez him in exchange for 5 lev rings (smartest thing I ever thought of!) Run to secret island, do turn in, and BIND friend logs in brother's cleric and rez's me.
5. Run to Sol Temple. Friend logs in the 65 ranger and brings 65 ench friend in case he needs crowd control due to AE. Ranger kills Plasmatic Priest with 85% health still. I gate and do turn in for 2nd sea shell and get rez. Once rezzed, make fresh corpse and rez old corpse again... Loot and head to Chardok.
6. Chardok royals secret. Mage and Rogue on Chardok faction go into secret hallway. Party members invis and CotH into hallway (leaving lil cleric up by entrance.) Run back toward zone in spot or chokida sniffer (see invis will wander in and eat you). Kill king, CotH lil' cleric, loot singed scroll and succor to zone and run and kill Ixiblat.
7. Had six 65's to kill Ixiblat, (mob didn't pop til 8p.m. some posts says 6p.m.) Pulled Ixi to SF zone, killed with extreme ease, looted, gated to TD, did turn in and had cleric rez. (King / Ixi took less than 1hr on corpse timer since group was ready.)
8. Now run to Sol B (had 4 people there since the Fire Giant Warriors con light blue at 65) killed them, ran over to ledge and here I sit waiting 3rd in line for Zordak Ragefire to pop. Did a /played and was 14 hours for this 1 day but only 5 days total on the 42 cleric. (I have heard rumors that Cecilia won't respond in less you are 46, this post here says 45... not sure if I am willing to try and do it at 42... but, if I do, I will be back and post.
Yes, the SK epic totally sucks!!! I have played 2 years and still missing Decrepit Hide and Soulleech to complete it. Between the crappy faction of killing 1000's of Kobolds in Warrens for Paineel faction, ruining my TS faction by killing Shaman epic mob, Glaron the Wicked in RM (finally e-mailed GM's boss to have them reset my faction since no TS faction hit message is displayed). I will still need to kill 100's of Qeynos guards to finish Decrepit Sheath.. ad infinitum.
In close, I have epic'd Shaman at level 49 (can't cast epic DoT til 50, Rogue at 50, Cleric within a week at 42; and hopefully within couple months my SK (PoP swords better but, just because I want to finish it.)

I simply do not believe you. Getting the epic at level 45, fine I can believe that. But 6 hours total playing time? I feel confident in calling you a LIER. Either that or Verant took a special and personal interest in you to allow you to pop Bergurgle, Gimblox, and all 4 shards in record time. NO WAY HOSE. I mean, ok, it's POSSIBLE that Bergurgle spawned for you the very first couple times, it's POSSIBLE that Gimblox spawned for you the very first couple times, and it's POSSIBLE you were able to tear through Skyfire in 3 hrs with 4 wizzies, a chanter and a bard (can anyone say BS?) and get all 4 shards, but frankly, you are either exaggerating or downright lying. Statistically, these events will likely not coincide in all of EQ for the lifetime of the game.
Not only that, Chardok is a raid undertaking, and with peeps at your level, you need 5-6 groups, if even you can do it. Even with a single group of 65s, it would take you a couple hrs to get to Chardok, fight through it, and kill King Bathezid. With what you probably had to work with, more like 3-5 hrs. As for Ixi and Ragefire, if you don't have a group of uber 65s, both these guys require raid sized forces, which take time to organize, get to spawn points, and take out. Ixi can be destroyed by 3 groups in their mid 50s, Ragefire is a little harder. But at lvl 45, your fellows would be struggling to survive such a fight.
And even if against all odds all the stars aligned for you and planetary motions coincided for that brief instant of time, it's absolutely NOTHING for YOU to brag about; it's like winning the lottery and thinking you used your skills to influence the numbers LOL.
I've camped Skyfire for almost 20 hrs now and have only gotten 2 fragments. The drop rate really is about 1%.
I think you need to seriously revise your BS story. Either that or delete your thread.

Just to correct some of your info Ixiblat doesn't require a raid force at all. I killed him with a 65 Shammy and Warrior , each had over 200 AA's but no elemental gear, was a very easy fight.
Chardok, 65 chanter, bard, war, rogue, cleric, wizzy, took about an hour, Paci pull king single, very easy fight he went down in about 30 seconds.

First off... Liar is what you mean, and so what if it is a lie. the important issue is did the posting player leave ANY information of substance or did they repeat the words "look at me, I am the shizit!" over and over ad nauseum?
I really wish that people would post helpful information and stop trying to impress faceless entities that don't give a tinker's "damage" what they claim in the interest of self service.
Show me things like - The PH for Lord Bergurgle is <whoever>. He self heals when you get him to 35%. Stuff like that is what I and others that come here need. If people feel inadequate, well I cannot address the cure for that. Please stick to the program; that is posting helps and points of interest for others to find what they seek.

That's just crazy... no way u can camp the named mobs in the cleric epic in 6 hours. Some of the named spawns take at least 4 hours of playing time. Neither can you solo the mobs very well pre lvl 50. Twinked out and had major help if even did this in 6 hours. Grats to you on your epic at lvl 45, what a great accomplishment it must have been, a while 6 hours lol... this totally removes the reason for the whole epic experience. It took me about 2 months to do my epic but it was well worth it and I am very proud of it.

if you read the description at the top of this page, it says that you get a dmg bonus on this weap as you increase in your level.

Clerics don't get damage bonus on weapons; the picture was taken by another class. A cleric probably linked it to him, then he took the screenshot.
