I was on a raid for the High Priest in Ssraeshza Temple. They cleared the first room where all the golems and Chapel Guards are, and then the room with the high priest by pulling all of them to the room with the captured thought leech. I was rapidly sorting through the bodies, and found this on a corpse. My recollection was the helm came from a corpse, and not from something someone dropped on the ground. I am certain of it because after I looted it, I checked what the Cobalt Helm was by cliking on the link in the box which said I looted it. I thought it might be a little out of place, so I checked here. I had a power failure, and when I came back I promptly died to all the pops. Curiously the Cobalt Helm was on my cursor as I zoned in (I am almost certain I put it in my inventory before the power failure), and the Cobalt Helm was still on my cursor when I zoned into the guild lobby. I suspect there must be a bug here. Too bad it wasn't something really useful, like a piece of Solaris gear. Which mob did it come from? I have no clue, but there was the usual collection of snakes, live, undead, and golems. All of them were the trash mobs. The HP had not yet been engaged when I looted it.
Dropped again today from Advisor Zekuzh while getting ready for a raid for the Emperor Ssraeshza. So this is the second time it dropped on the third floor.
It's stupid if a warrior has to worry about weight. My warrior has a current 180 str and i need to work on it. Well maybe it's cuz i have 2 rallic paks and a bag of tinkerers, but still warriors shouldn't have problems with weight and another thing have you ever heard of a BANK!?
Bottom line, this helmet has 25AC. You tell me of any other helmet that is easier to get with as much or more AC than that. Quit ******** about the effect and who needs it more. ***** human and Barb warriors, im a Dark Elf warrior with ultra vision and wear this helmet because it has 25AC!!!
Helm of Raldlakan (or however you spell it) that drops off the Raldalkan mobs in Umbral Planes is better than the Cobalt helm. Though it does not have an effect.

Just beacause something has no other stat adds does not make any less worth having. 25 raw AC is very nice upgrade for a warrior as they are moving through the levels especially if they do not have the moeny to buy such items and happen to loot it or have it handed to them from a helpful PC. A Warriors Main concerns are AC and HP ( Straight AC or STA ), then STR, after that it can be argued all day long.

serpent sight is infravision, nice for human races there is also a ring though, i picked up in the bazaar that has 2 ac and this effect, nice for my barb warrior until i can afford better
Woohooo!!!! Finally i will be able to wear this without looking like im wearing a trash can on my head! woohoo finally verant did something good! *i think im a little overly excited hehe* -very relieved human warrior
Wow ..What a shame that only 2 people here had anything good to say about this item...And yes just like the others Im opening my trap for nothing less than to sound dumb..Great helm ..
I think you are all missing the point of this helm. This is pretty much only usefull for 2 races... Human and Barbarian... 2 races that are strong enough to not notice the weight and 2 races that have terrible vision. I personally use 3 helms, 1: Indocolite Helmet(PoH) great for leveling skills 2: Cobalt Helmet(sebilis) great for traveling and dungeons 3: Custom Champions Crown(Thurg Quest) great for when you need those extra stats.
No i do not carry all 3 around... if my skills are maxed out i leave the indo helm in the bank... if im hangin with a shammy then the cobby helm gets put on the shelf too.
Heh! This helm is 25ac! That makes it awesome for ANY warrior, it's not "pretty much useful for only humans and barbarians", though of course they would benefit from the effect. And the weight thing; any warrior high enough to acquire one of these babies will doubtlessly have at least 170str, usually a good bit more; plenty of str for MANY 10 weight items. But oh well, I came hoping for a low PC on it hehe.. sucks for me, 15k.
I agree barbs and humans probably do need it the most, considering their nightly vision (as well as depth). But one thing I found silly is that you said humans are like hella strong... /disagree Str-wise, the big races prevail base, but I'm little ole half-elf pushing over 200 str. (200 being base, and always have spells either druid/shammy or just my cobalt boots) I dunno why I'm replying, I guess I just wanted to poke fun at that humans being strong thing, and I do agree with your idea of having several helms... But I wouldn't mind a few extra with Cobalt, condering i still have a ssb. Plus, Half Elves have the best looking armor LOL

I sure hope you were being sarcastic because if you believe that Half Elf armor is the best looking you're either retarded, or sick in the head from something else. HAH! thanks for the laugh

jesus f*ckin christ, all you **** heads ******* about the weight of something should join the f*ckin monk guild (no offense to monks here) but if you dont feel like carrying 100+ pounds of kick *** equipment go wear some damn cloth... jesus you guys are retarded makin a wood elf warrior in the first place
if u are complaining about wieght and dont get ic because of that u are dumb, 25ac is sweet. thick banded belt is 15str if u dont have and fbss good option, and there tons of stuff wars get to enhance str. if u were a monk or caster that dont have many str enhancing items good arguemtn, but this is for a war that is sapposed to have str boosting stuff anyway, weghts no probs for war
I understand about the weight concern (being a halfling warrior myself), but let's not forget that both the cobalt boots and cobalt gloves have strength-enhancing effects, which means that you should still be able to walk/run unecumbered even with a bunch of stuff in your inventory, assuming you've done your hunting in Karnor's (especially if you have weight-reduction bags, which you should).
most warrior armour, including Velious quests, is heavy. They seem to think we are all Barbarians with 190 str. I'm a wood elf and I really wish they made some of this lighter.
Ya, weight.... Umm, did you say you were a warrior? Dunno bout you, but str and sta are a warrior's best melee stats, and str = weight-carrying ability. You said a 190str Barb, well I am a Half Elf with a tad over 200 str, so don't say that it's a big-race item because it's heavy.. It's heavy cause it's a warrior item, silly. BTW, Half Elves have the ebst looking armor, WOOT!
Bah, I'm a wood elf and I have no problems with weight. I have about 100lbs of weight to spare. Look for some weight reduction bags, or leave some crap in the bank. BTW, 179 str helps too. =)
the helm drops off juggernauts more often then reets, if you really want one get two groups of 55+ people and go down near trak's lair. You might get one that way.
