Iksar useable?
# Apr 07 2002 at 3:19 PM Rating: Default
Someone offering to sell me one of these swore that theirs was shm/all. Could it be that older or newer ones are useable by Iksar?
RE: Iksar useable?

i currently see that BAR, TRL, VAH, OGR and FRG can wear this only, SHM class
RE: Iksar useable?

Iksar cannot wear any jaundiced bone armors. This is due to the fact that iksar can't wear plate armor, because of their scaly skin, or some wierd thing like that.

Iksar can be warrior and shadow knight class , therefore, yes, Iksar CAN wear plate !!!

Nope, classic error - trying to apply logic to EQ.

When Iksar originated, [due to the race "enhancements" (ie regen, swimming etc.)they were born with], they were not allowed to wear "plate" as a "rule".

Well that being then and this now...exceptions prove the rule, rules are meant to be broken, the universe tends toward entropy, man is never perfect, it's a rule of thumb not meant to be perfectly exact... whatever you want to say or apply - things become less critical and change.

To the best of my knowledge, these have never been useable by Iksar.

Ok, here is my analysis.

1)This helm gives a very good AC. We all know that healers and buffers taunt mobs off the tanks quite easily. Higher AC = Live Longer

2) Alchemy is very costly from what I have been told. Higher charisma will reduce the cost of making potions.

Anyway, I traded Tolan's darkwood gauntlets with this. I think it's a fair trade, if I didn't get the better end of the deal.

People can't sell these in the bazaar on tribunal, consequentally you see them on many vendors for around 360 plat (if I remember right)

There are a TON of these in circulation. Essentailly its ONLY 18 ac since charisma kit stuff is cheap as heck and shaman's get great charisma spells.
What level for effect?

No, actually it is level 46. I distinctly remember being level 45 and thinking "Sweet, my ES Vams will proc and help me through this hell level" but they didn't. At level 46 they did.

Sorry but it is 45, because that is my level and I've been clicking away on my JB gauntlets and vambraces
Why an Iksar Necro might have this item
# Aug 26 2001 at 1:48 PM Rating: Decent
He looted it from a shaman and is just holding it. Does that make you feel better about it dropping from this guy?
# Jul 04 2001 at 8:47 PM Rating: Excellent
Just wondering.. 1: Iksar can't wear this.. 2: Necromancers can't wear this..

Why does this drop from an Iksar Necromancer? One of the many things I'll never understand..

Hmm.. that's right. Isn't it so silly that items drop off mobs that can't wear them. Man, I think Trakanon shouldn't drop all those Breastplates, because none of them are Dragon wearable. Give me a break!
RE: Hmmm
# Feb 15 2002 at 12:41 AM Rating: Decent

I'm not surprised to see anything drop off a dragon. I figure the Dragon won the fight, and the items were consumed.

Given that reasoning, I guess the Iksar > Shaman

Try not to be so literal about things like this, please. It is a Jaundiced Bone helm, doesn't that sound like something to be gained from a necromancer? Besides, when have NPCs had to follow the rules - such as casting distance, mana, etc...

if ye think about it the pic of the necro on allakhazams shows no graphic head piece. i personally dont know what the head piece looks like hence i just like looking at higher level drops and monsters being a 22 cleric i obviously dont know much but it was probably in the necros inventory. OR, i have seen pods with 2 shields of slain unicorns so verant might be sccrewing with u. either way flare away if ime wromg. my 2 cp

Sketelmona's prior post
# May 07 2001 at 11:45 PM Rating: Default
Sketelmona, from now on think of yourself as fair game to be killed and looted. Imagine the possibility that 5 minutes prior to running into Faydwer on your way through TD you happened to pick up a fine steel long sword since you were on the way to town anyways. Faydwer decides to loot you and what does he find? Why the hell does this necro have a sword!?!?!

Just something to ponder about "odd" drops.
