I have a 250 skill & GM Seal (+5% Poison Making) and I failed 2 of these in a row. The interface states it is a 322 trivial so I'm not *too* surprised but still.
Be sure to have a few extra salts when attempting, as I hoped on my first try and only 2 had two. Needless to say I had to spend yet more time farming them in Frontier Mts/Droga/Nurga.
After finding a friend who had a bunch of extra salts, I made some extra Mind Melt for friends/guild and only failed 2 out of the next 10 :)

It is an ingredient for Tainted Avalanche Ale.
Any Rogue can use it with the Apply Poison skill to poison a piercing weapon. It is a one shot poison that does up to 555 damage (at level 55), a instant stun (interrupts casting) and a small knockback.

This is used to make the Tainted Avalanche Ale you give to Captain Barradain in Coldain Ring 9. Unless you are a friend of or have a 250 skilled posion maker rogue in your guild its tough to find someone to make this for you.
