spawn guardian
# Jul 19 2002 at 2:27 PM Rating: Decent
The named gorilla's (Silverflank Guardian and Hulking gorilla) drop clumps of gorilla hair. SO, hunting them for the rain caller's quest we discovered the Hulking Gorilla spawns quite fast after slaying the Silverflank Guardian. The first time the guardian showed up very quickly. The second spawn took over 2 hours. Not that bad actually.

Now drops off the Silverflank guardian that spawns right outside CT entrance. There are two mobs the spawn side by side - it will be either a gorilla, a large gorilla, a hulking gorilla or a Silverflank guardian, Silverflank being the rare spawn.

um doesn't dex affect how much you learn your rogue skills
RE: dex

Never read any of the manuals or Strategy Guides, eh? I quote, "Dexterity is directly related to how fast a Rogue picks up the special (sic) related to the class. The fastest road to a maxed out Backstab is the way to go!"
Prima's official Strategy Guide (e.g THE EQ BIBLE)
RE: dex
# Aug 20 2001 at 3:48 AM Rating: Decent
... my god. Prima's EQ guides are well known as the most inaccurate, misleading, detrimental pieces of 'hint' material on the face of the planet. In this case, they *are* correct, however... Dexterity is supposed to affect your rate of improvement in rogue-based skills. Regardless, quoting the Prima strategy guide is a quick way to get people to ignore your post as false information. EQ Bible? Pfft, don't make me laugh. Next time, before you try to sound all knowing, make sure your source is reliable. Prima usually puts out some quality work for games such as FF7, but their EQ Hint Book is a PoS.

Speak it brother =). if you read in the front it says "The infromation in this book was correct at the time of printing. however, EverQuest is an ever-changing world and all of this information is subject to change at any time."

example: Vah shir racial Tensions: None

yet at lvl 1 i ran up and can troll, darkelf, and ogre gaurd to find "Ready to Attack"

in most cases the spells are correct yet spells are sometimes nerfed to some extent so well you get the picture

I agree. I find that you cannot rely on printed material, its better to find your own stuff out and leave the printed material to the beginners of EQ. Prima is a good company for games that cannot change (like FF7 etc) but with EQ it wouldnt be possible to make a strat guide

Wis and Int is good

Wis or Int whise ever is highest is used to roll agains then you learn new skills, like sneak and hide.

Need I say more ?
Stats
# Apr 12 2001 at 8:05 AM Rating: Default
Does ANYONE ever do trade skills anymore? Or has this game just become a Hack'n'Slash fashion show? INT and WIS effect your trade skills, so if you want to master Make Poison, Brewing, or Pottery...INT is a good thing.

I am currently trying to master Baking and Brewing, just for the hell of it. Ya know, one day you'll just get sick of doing "/ooc 33 rogue LFG" over and over and over. So grab yerself a recipe book and start cooking, brewing, or sewing. Just for fun, and just so you can claim, "I am a Master <insert tradeskill here>"

And if you have the extra cash lying around, (and have a friend who is an enchanter) take up Jewelcraft. See how important INT and WIS are then! Some of the low end recipes cost 10plat per failure!

IMO - Every stat is important to a rogue...some more than others.

#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 03 2001 at 12:03 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) hey jackass flamer, leave them alone. it's not communistic to tell somebody that trade skills are kind of fun.... it's a whole different level of the game that i wouldn't expect ignorant people like yourself to grasp.

Straight Up, Anonymous! I wish people would get off their lazy buts and take up a trade skill! I'm trying to master one trade skill on all of my characters (which I only have one right now hehe) And I really wish more people would do the same.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 10 2001 at 9:07 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Agreed, the more stupid, foolish Rogues there are out there the better for me. Same goes for stupid, foolish players, Hotkey: /ignore %t and watch you die, just for ha-ha's

I have a 51st shaman, who is a master in tailoring, fletching, brewing, jewelcraft, pottery, alchemy, fishing, fly crafting, and smithing. It has taken me a LONG time, and TONS of hard earned cash. But it makes your character that much better, and it makes you that much better in the long run. Recently I started a Rogue, with low base wis (70) and int (60)... It is so much harder to master trade skills with low stats. And you waste so much pp. I got her some wis gear to help her out some, but she still doesn't compare to my shaman with a wis of 190. Anyhow, just my 2cp. :)

well.. just look at the AC... anything else is only a nice add-on with the 5svm the most usefull, unquestioned
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 28 2001 at 6:10 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) why the hell would Rogues need int or wis?
Umm
# Feb 24 2001 at 1:18 AM Rating: Decent
I know it won't hurt, but why is there Wis on this item? As far as I knew, Rogues do not really "need" Wisdom. Although any increase in your attributes is ALWAYS a plus (heh no pun intended:))
RE: Umm
# Mar 12 2002 at 12:57 PM Rating: Excellent
depending upon the race you choose wis can be higher than int on a rogue (take halflings for an example). if you want to work on a trade skill, the rate of skill increase is dependent on int or wis, depending on which is higher.

is 2 wisdom or 5 intelligence gonna help that much while doing trade skills?
