killed kithicor (ranger gm) in kith today out of boredom, he dropped griffon helm, ringmail sleeves, longbow and arrow. mystery solved

I picked one of these up in the bazaar last night someone was selling it for 25pp!!!!!! couldnt pass up the deal so i swooped on it before it was taken up by someone else 8-P.

Picked this beauty up on POVAR, I believe its the only one on our server. Should say I stole it for 7k. Seller got it in a GM event and it is droppable.

I just did a gm quest and this was the item she gave me, it's droppable, but although the stats are very nice I'm sticking w/ my ivy etched helm, I can make more use of the ac and +5 wis, extra mana lets me cast my str buffs, so I'll be dropping this soon in nfp on mith marr if you want one, I'm trying to get a yak, so look me up.

Thats not true, There was a GM event on ZEB a few weeks ago, my friend recieved a glowing black stone, and i got an SMR. So they are not always no drop.

i have killed griffon 4 times no helm that callowing dude never seen him so guess he is really rare

I donno. GMs tell people about this stuff!

Callowing does indeed exist. I picked him up on track a couple of weeks ago. He was very green to me around level 32. Only item he dropped was the Crystal Ring (AC 2, HP 7). He supposedly also drops Griffon Talon Gloves (AC 4, STR 2), but they did not drop the one time I saw him.
The Griffon Helm was NOT on him. Based on the ease of the kill and the nice stats of the helm, I would say there is no way a helm that nice would be dropping from such a low level mob.

I just started playing again after a 7 month deployment in the marines. Haven't played seince before kunark, so this may have changed. But this used to drop off of Callowing (not sure that's spell totaly right) in NK..who is a ultra rare spawn after grim is killed. My warrior Setti Dreamstalker on E`ci had one.

I've never seen this helm, but I have seen Callowing one time. While medding at the guard tower in NK, I heard the guards whacking a griff, so I stood up. There he was! He conned blue to me(I was 19 I think), and the guards killed him very quickly. So, Callowing is real(or was), but I can't say if he drops this item.

Yes, I killed Callowing once... He dropped the griffon tallon gauntlets instead of this helm, but I can confirm that about 18 months ago he was up and roaming around =)
I have read that this item was given through a GM quest and that ONLY one is in existence. That is why it is not dropped anywhere.

Hmmm...If that were true, it would be an ARTIFACT, most likely NO DROP. I believe you are FoS. Thanks, though

My Tenative information on this is that it drops off a rare Mob in the hole.

I have killed countless Griffawns, Griffennes, Griffins, Griffons and GrimFeather and I have never seen this thing drop.
Don't know where you're looking, but the group I was in today got 2 of them. I lost both rolls on them, but we still got 2.
So... where are you looking then Xarien?
Sadly, despite repeated attempts to get another one, it truly does appear that Verant removed it. *sigh* 'Tis a shame...

This item was once looted off GrimFeather. It no longer drops and has been nerfed or it droped as part of a gm event.
