Can you use these at any level? or only 51+? If so, thats so f**king LAME...
Not really so lame, if you think about it. Most of the zones for under 50 chars to level in are within 2 or three zones of a bank, and usually pretty safe for travelling. Once you hit 50, you end up in places like sebilis, and other zones that are a royal pain is the A** to get to.
Seriously, a person could easily level to 50 without even leaving Antonica. Travel at those levels is pretty easy.

Though of course none of these pottery items appear to help melee classes, those without the ability to gate or port themselves somewhere else. There's the Thurgadin gate potion but that's only worth one charge then it's gone. Too often have I seen the gating classes go poof when we're done, leaving the melee on their own to make their own way back.
Following your logic there should be something for the melee classes to get themselves out of those far away places as well. Heck it's worth more to someone who can't Gate, isn't it?

Get a set of Puppet Strings and a high level enchanter friend, and try the Worker Sledgemallet quest.
Keep a Vial of Velium Vapors, The Binden Concerrentia + a Quintessence of Knowledge or a Gate Potion handy in case of emergency.
WARNING: The Worker Sledgemallet has a delay of 50, and is a random (combat) proc, so do NOT rely on it unless it is a last resort, or unless you can continue to safely melee until it finally procs.

Yep... they're sadly level 51 and above... mind you with a retail of a couple of thousand plat even on Antonious Bayle I doubt you'd see many newbie clerics wandering around with them anyway.
I'll have to get a spiritstone sometime for myself... although I already have a procing hammer to get me to the bank in OT so no real need I guess...
