Rare??? About 1 in 2 deepwater gobbies drop this, I would say it rather common...

Got this from Bouncer in Feerrott! Most likely, someone traded it to him because I have never seen it there before. Or they did something with Wednesday's patch. Either way, still not much good for andone but a bard.
Last night while camping Lord Bergurgle with me guild, we killed what seemed like a bajillion of these silly water gobbies. tons of the helms dropped (noone needed it), but seein as it was NODROP if figured i'd keep it instead of derstoyin it an see if it was fer a quest. If anyone knows about a related quest any info would be much appreciated.

The Helm is for the Bards Lambent Helm quest.
it's for the bard lambent helm. you also need a lambent stone, a mudwater rune, and a pair of star rubies.

me and my guild leader (51 sham) killed these things in rathe. There's a tunnel around the base of the Aviak dive island but its under water. you swim down there for a long time and it opens into a big water filled room with the goblin tower in the middle. There's 4 goblins around it and 2 on top, don't know what's in it though. The helmets drop a lot. If you go out the opposite way you came, another tunnel will lead you out to the base of the mage's island, the one with the little brick tower on it. Was a blast doing this.

A high lvl was killing DW gobs and was letting us all loot them for the helms. So i got one, and they look like a black skull helm on DE. Looks way better that my other helm
I have yet to spend time in Lake Rathetear other than to hunt Gnolls and travel to The Arena. Where are the Goblins located in LR, and are they easier to bring on one at a time than their Oasis of Marr cousins?
I would suspect it would be easier to deal with them near the Oasis since they are typically pulled to the zoning area for Southern Desert of Ro, and not knowing where these gobbies are found at the Lake would have to say this is safest. (Run, little wood elf, run!)

get it of a deep water gobling right... they are better exp then this 8 ac helm!

Yes, you are right they are. And this helm is used in getting the bard lambent helm. So I guess the lambent helm is a good loot.
